If you take enough of them now, you might only be aware of, say, less than 1 6 hour block in a 24 hour period.Aha! The riddle is that the pills change the nature of spacetime. That makes sense.

The debate is about (1) the answer to the question, and (2) whether that answer is obvious/clear or if there is ambiguity. Then what the hell is the debate about?
what's your answer? The debate is about (1) the answer to the question, and (2) whether that answer is obvious/clear or if there is ambiguity.
Not telling until more people give their answers. I don't wish to sway the voters.what's your answer?

She didn't ask about 24 hour periods.if they are taken exactly to the second every six hours, then the answer would always be 5 in any given 24 hour period.
Confusion is that some people sleep 8 hours a night. You wake up at 7, take a pill. Take another pill at 1. Then another at 7. You go to bed at 10:00. You supposed to set the alarm to take a pill at 1am, or take a pill 3 hours early?Well, the number taken on the first and last days depend on time of day you start taking them. But other than that, it is four per day. If you start at 5 am, you take one at 5, one at 11, one at 5, and one at 11.
If you start at 6 am, it's 6/12/6/12(next day - which means four the next day at 12/6/12/6)
I don't understand what the confusion is.
krista has some pills for that. You should take one every 6 hours.you people make my head hurt.
What kind of slacker sleeps more than six hours in a stretch? Not krista, that's for sure.Confusion is that some people sleep 8 hours a night. You wake up at 7, take a pill. Take another pill at 1. Then another at 7. You go to bed at 10:00. You supposed to set the alarm to take a pill at 1am, or take a pill 3 hours early?
so the other interpretation is that you are supposed to take a pill every 6 hours during your waking hours.
Until the medicine is gone or the person taking it by mouth is gone? It’s critical to solving this riddle.krista4 said:Let's pretend the instructions say "Take one capsule every six hours" instead of "Take one capsule by mouth every six hours until gone." Does this help you answer the #######ed question?
but if krista poops once every 15 minutes, how many poops does she take in an hour?Everyone poops....everyone
This is different.Confusion is that some people sleep 8 hours a night. You wake up at 7, take a pill. Take another pill at 1. Then another at 7. You go to bed at 10:00. You supposed to set the alarm to take a pill at 1am, or take a pill 3 hours early?

So weird that I can't remember if I took the pills I need to, but always know that I took the ones that I want to.This is different.
If you're asking what the bottle says, the answer is 4.
If you're asking what the average female is going to do, the answer is 4.
If you're asking what the average male is going to do, the answer is somewhere between 0 and 8, depending on the day, wtf is going on, how they're feeling, if they intend to have drinks that night, how many drinks they intend to have that night, how long ago the last dose was that they missed, whether symptoms persist, if it's for something minor like a sinus infection or something someone will see when naked, what the side effects might be, whether or not those side effects are potentially positive, and a whole host of things I'm sure I'm not even considering because wtf, who goes to the doctor if they aren't dying?
Amen brotherSo weird that I can't remember if I took the pills I need to, but always know that I took the ones that I want to.
How many times a day do I have to take it?they have a pill for that.
every six hours. Have fun.How many times a day do I have to take it?
2 or 3 per day depending on how many hours you are awake per day. If the Dr wanted you to wake up to take them, the instructions would include that verbiage.krista4 said:Please help settle a debate.
A prescription for an antibiotic says, "Take one capsule by mouth every six hours until gone." How many capsules per day (Sunday, Monday, etc.) should the person take?
That’s a reasonable man right there2 or 3 per day depending on how many hours you are awake per day. If the Dr wanted you to wake up to take them, the instructions would include that verbiage.
Yeah I was figuring they meant 3 a day.2 or 3 per day depending on how many hours you are awake per day. If the Dr wanted you to wake up to take them, the instructions would include that verbiage.

Just to be clear, it has to be a number and not just a great dance move or something?krista4 said:The debate is about (1) the answer to the question, and (2) whether that answer is obvious/clear or if there is ambiguity.
At this point I'd probably prefer the great dance move, or even the something.Just to be clear, it has to be a number and not just a great dance move or something?

4. Duh. Unless you choose out of the "by mouth" option.krista4 said:Please help settle a debate.

Seems like the "4" people are awfully certain about it.4. Duh. Unless you choose out of the "by mouth" option.
Every 6 hours? There are 24 hours in a day. Wake your ### up and take a pill in the middle of the night. 4 is the answer, but it's not what people will end up doing.Seems like the "4" people are awfully certain about it.
No way pal, not falling for that. I have to breathe through that mouth.4. Duh. Unless you choose out of the "by mouth" option.
No, it would always be 5 in any 24 hour and 1 second period.Getzlaf15 said:if they are taken exactly to the second every six hours, then the answer would always be 5 in any given 24 hour period.
That’s because if you add six hours, you don’t take the next pill 11 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds later. If you truly add exactly six hours, it’s impossible to take more than 4 in a day. Some are suggesting the one you take to start means that 24 hours later when you take one it’s “within 24 hours.” But it isn’t it’s 24 hours later. Take the first pill at exactly midnight and count days of the week as your 24 hour periods and it becomes clear.Seems like the "4" people are awfully certain about it.
