At the bar. The owner bought me a Grape Ape, which I really didn't need with all the Captain and diets I am buying for myself. Women getting better looking all the time.

Construction now, which isn't much better for sleeping in but I can get in a few hours of work uninterrupted before the clown show arrives.

Plus, it helps with my tendency towards depression to have at least a few hours of daylight when I get home (I usually leave about 2 or 3 p.m. for the day).

I love drunk girls. Couple of sisters here at the bar are both flirty, which means I have no shot with either. They're fun, though.

I had never seen it until a few nights ago, despite hearing what a great movie it is (and IT IS).  Watched it with extended family and someone expressed surprise there hadn't been a sequel (thank God!).  My uber-iNerd BIL then pulled up that clip as an illustration of his possible future.

(I probably just restated the blindingly obvious but I'm only half awake)

 
So I'm home with my 4 year old son this morning and I'm looking to keep him occupied because I feel a massive dump coming on.  I go through the kids shows on Hulu before I go to keep him occupied and he chooses Air Bud - the movie about a basketball playing dog.  Seems harmless enough, so I put it on and then go to do my business.  After a good 15 minutes of relief, I come out and the little guy is crying.  Now this isn't a completely unusual scenario.  Those of you that have raised boys know that they they are very good at figuring out ways to injure themselves.  I ask him what happened, and when he's finally able to collect himself he says "People were mean to the dog".  I didn't know the dog-basketball movie would be so emotional.

 
undoubted highlight of my day so far has been taking my kids sledding this morning

oldest jammed her thumb, youngest smashed her face in the snow after going off a ramp.

but far & away the best part was the young dad pushing his 2 sub-6 year old kids down the hill on one of these bike/sled things, over the moguls, over and over. with every thudding landing another part flew off and the kids fell harder and got up slower.

soon as they'd climb to the top of the hill he was putting them right back on and shoving them down the hill as they screamed.

not sure what those things cost but it was a hunk of mangled junk after about 30 minutes.

dude just watched the game winning touchdown pass fall 3 inches out of his reach without putting a whole lot of effort in to making a play. so nonchalant that he looked tranq'd.

Not that anyone in here cares, buuuut....It is a CRIME that they didn't let Tommy Wiseau talk when they hauled him up on stage during the Golden Globes a few minutes ago.  That would have been the most awesome car wreck ever.

gb the Madden franchise, but much like twitter & facebook and social media in general.. it has ruined people's perspective on reality.

can't just swap players from other rosters like in Franchise mode to ensure you win a Super Bowl every year, guys

10yo floppinho has been worried about my lack of employment- asking with more frequency and concern when I'm going back to work. That's gotten to me far more than my own worries.

don't drink booze.

don't eat after 7 PM.

get 30-60 minutes of continuous exercise in during the day.

turn off the tv/tablet/phone before you get in bed.

get your room temp regulated so that you aren't sweating or shivering in bed.

don't drink caffeine after noon.

that's a start. turning your brain off if you have anxiety or something... i don't have any suggestions for that.

 
overheard at work this morning:

"I watched the Golden Globe... awards.. or whatever. It was great except for all those blacks up there."
