I’m on a flight to ATL, and the guy next to me just got up for the fourth(!) time, and when he did he ripped my headphones in two (the side with the plug ripped all the way out of center switch thingie). Busted beyond repair. I finally treated myself about a year ago to these things after always thinking they were too splurge-y, and I love them.
The guy didn’t see he did it. I’m impossibly sad but don’t see anything good that can come from telling him, though.

Our schools have been closed for 3 days running because we had a dusting of snow - we deserve the ridicule. Shuke would be ripping his Orson Welles beard hair out as there's been non-stop news coverage of the black ice on all the roads.

Atlanta's a great town for event-ish stuff downtown. I went to the ACC tournament there in the late aughts (it was the year of the UCONN/Syracuse 6 OT game in the Big East playoff - watched it from the "Maryland" hotel) and it was a blast chatting with fans from other schools. Most of the team hotels were in the same couple of blocks and the arena was a 10 minute walk away. The mistake was having the tourney in the Georgia Dome instead of the - even closer - arena where the Hawks play. CNN building and Centennial Park were right there, as were several restaurants/bars.

i'm 45 minutes in to trying to play a single round of Rory McIlroy golf on this ####### XBOX. FORTY FIVE MINUTES.
three reboots, frozen controller twice, then setting up a new profile, watching the prologue that you can't bypass, etc.
the machine is 3 weeks old. i'm about to throw it in the fireplace.

I like Atlanta. We lived in Midtown for about six months after our return from Nicaragua and had a blast. By the way, on the way to Granada right now; shall I give Julio your love? You’ll be amused to know that he has somehow sweet-talked his way into the house we rented and fully stocked it for our arrival. I had asked the owner if he would let Julio pick up the keys and was rebuffed.

He even had an snippet on House Hunters International a couple of weeks ago when they did a fake show on her purchase, though she told me the best Julio-ism was omitted from the show: when her friend asked him how Las Isletas were formed, he said, “Jesus.”

I thought it was even stupider today they had everyone go in for a half day. I was working when I noticed kids waiting for the school bus at 11am. They’ve been out since Tuesday, what’s the point in going for a few hours Friday afternoon?
Anyway, I’m in the burbs. I only venture ITP for events or occasional dinner dates.

We don't handle the tiniest bit of snow and ice. It isn't snow and ice that would be worthy of mention elsewhere.
Ice on the side of the roads for morning hours? Gridlock with a dozen accidents on every major traffic route.

Im sure, it happens everywhere. Im sure accidents due to ice happen everywhere. People outside of their normal climate don’t know how to function in it. It’s just that northerners for some reason think it’s funny that the South has issue with snow and ice.
