GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (3 Viewers)

A Marine recruiter visited my son's class today to do his recruitment spiel.  He called on my son and asked what his plans were after school.  My kid explained he was going to college and hopefully law school.  He explained he will be getting some help from his parents, working and getting some loans.  The recruiter had the audacity to call my son "a little #####" for accepting money from me. :hot:

My kid did his best to blow it off but he was pissed the Marine embarrassed him in front of the entire class.

Later in class the Marine did a push up contest and selected 4 kids including my son.  Looking at the kids he selected my son was sure the recruiter was trying to embarrass him further.  Needless to say my kid stopped at 55 pushups long after the other kids had dropped.  :D

He stood up, looked at the marine and said  "I'm no ones #####"  :lmao: :lmao:

He had me so pissed when he told the first part of story I was on my way to school.  By the end I couldn't have been more proud.

wow...7 posts in 2 days...where the hell is everyone?
Updates from the 4 household:

1.  Mr. krista was suddenly and unexpected promoted to Executive Chef at his restaurant at the beginning of last week.  It was particularly shocking because he had stopped chef-ing for them a while back.  He's been working 14-15 hour days but has already been getting heaps of praise for everything so far from customers and staff, in particular for helping to turn around morale there.  If any PNWers (or @cosjobs) want to go there sometime, let me know.  It's on the Olympic peninsula and right on the water, so will be especially beautiful as we go into spring and summer.

2.  We're heading to Vancouver tomorrow to see Anthony Jeselnik and also to eat all the food.  I'm excited.

3.  Mr. krista saw two baby coyotes chasing a fat otter across the road coming home the other night.

Where's the restaurant?

see, I'm on the Olympic peninsula and right on the water.   Unlike most of you goons, I need a little more specificity.
Wait, since when are you on the Olympic peninsula?  Have you moved from Gig Harbor?  Not that moving is a bad thing, of course.

Pretty sure fish/rover bought a house fairly recently after getting outbid a dozen times by a bunch of lunatics paying in all cash and waiving inspections.
He did, but I was certain it was in Gig Harbor, which is on the Kitsap peninsula.  We have a lot of peninsulas here.

Hooters in Bremerton?

Also I've never felt worse about laughing at a comedian than during a Jeselnik set.

If I gave you instructions on booking a hotel reservation and included this:

"Dates: July 18th-20th 2019"

how many nights would you book the room for?

I'll PM you.  Don't want to post more detail here because the internet is full of weirdos.
Can you pm please?  I'd like to convince myself that I'd got to his restaurant and introduce myself to the chef as a disant inernet acquaintance of his way-too-good-for-him wife but chicken out at the last minute and pay way too much for the medium-hot wings and blue cheese dip.

But, for reals, I'd like to go to his rest-ahhhh-rant.

I would book 3 nights because the type of people who need help making a hotel reservation are the type who i trust least to get it right and the cancellation policy is usually 24 hours so you can fix it at check in.

I woke up 6 times last night. Once to hear the sudden silence of the power going out, twice to hear trees falling into my back yard including my favorite one in the fall, and 3 times to have my wife ask me to use my phone because she forgot to charge hers. And as I'm typing this she just asked me for my phone again.

We got hours of rain before the heavy snow started falling so all the trees were wet and heavy before the snow started to cling to them. One of the most damaging storms I can remember.  No idea when we'll get heat or power back.

Laying in bed and hearing trees coming down is a horrible, helpless feeling.  :(

Hope your power is back on quickly and the damage not as severe as first thought.
