seriously.   she's hot and single.

anyway,  in the winter I like to switch to white russians as my go-to home cocktail.   my freaking cat got into a mostly empty glass, but got enough of a taste to decide that it also likes white russians.   now I can't leave my drink unattended or it will try to sneak up and drink it.   I hate the cat, but respect its determination to get wasted.

I hit the Powerball last night. And one other number. I'll plow my $4 windfall into Friday's Mega Millions. Retirement, here I come! :bowtie:

I've really tried to back myself out of just about anything political, but couldn't resist this one at work today:

Co-worker: What the heck, this is the 2nd time today someone from Russia has tried calling me! Do you think I should answer it?

Me: Yes, it might be President Trump!

Went out for a beer or three with Mrs Epic tonight. Somehow what was supposed to be a $30 night turned into a $2000 night as we talked ourselves into going New Orleans in Jan and just started randomly making reservations via Priceline or whatever app she was using.

Meanwhile, I was on the Southwest website agonizing over whether I should take a 5AM flight to Vegas to save 2830 miles, or roughly $45.   :lmao:

Needed a new refrigerator so I ordered one online from costco.   They set up delivery for today, but there was a period of time in the delivery window when I had to be gone, so I arranged for someone to be here.   Then they called and changed the time to...right now.   Unloaded the refrigerator and freezer into coolers as they backed the truck to my front door.

It didn't fit.  I had measured the cabinets on top before I ordered, but didn't think to measure the cabinets on the bottom, because I assumed they were the same.   Turns out that they're 1/4 inch different on each side, and that 1/2 inch was the difference.   Delivery guy could barely hold back his disdain as he loaded the refrigerator back onto the truck and put me on the phone to his supervisor so I could explain that I was refusing the shipment and it was my fault, not the driver's.

Had to load everything back into the old fridge and now I'm waiting for my refund to be processed while I look for a new refrigerator with dimensions that don't seem to exist in the type I want.

TLDR:   I'm stupid and don't know how to measure things.

Thought I had it, but it tapers the wrong way

this kind of thing sounds like every second of every one of my days.

oh hai. I'm still at work. measuring stupid #### for boring white rich folk. and I'm sure I'm stupid and ####### it up too. as long as I don't get super fired. because that would suck. so I REmeasure the stupid #### for the boring white people again. there are days when I feel like super scarfy architect and days when I feel a complete and utter fraud. that's right now. the not scarfy bit. ok. back to full concentration on the boring rich white people bull ####.

I went to a music service at my parents rockNroll megachurch tonight. the church has a credit card kiosk in the lobby for donations.  Is this a common thing now?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I was surprised.  The Lord collectith and the Lord taketh.

I'm not sure it's all that common, and I can see how it could appear bad, but I think it's simply recognition that a lot of people don't carry cash or checks these days and it gives people a way to give still.

Personally, my tithe is setup to automatically give online every week. My church also is capable of receiving giving through our website or through text. Just makes it easier.

Are the fraud days the days you DON'T wear the scarf?

On one hand, I totally get it.  Just an updated version of passing the collection plate.

But, yeah. On the other hand, Still feels kinda....worse, somehow.

ok/ sorry about the gripey woe-is-me post.

back again in the office, but saw #1 son perform some theater stuff earlier, took daughter to tennis class, bought a bunch of chanukah presents for the kids- nice day, and reminder that work is work and not life.

will be here a couple more today, and a few tomorrow and will get this bid set out for boring white folk's project on monday in good-enough, not perfect, shape. and then back to more normal happy scarf days.

things are looking pretty good- I've pretty much pulled this out of my ### (and with longer hours), but I'm finally starting to believe in it.

for S&Gs... it's a 4,600sf Park Avenue apartment (mostly gut) renovation, including all new HVAC and windows.

- I'll take guesses for how much the bids come back at... closest gets an official floppo scarf soaked in my sweat and tears shipped directly to them. unless it's furley because can you imagine not videoing can you imagine etc. bids are due on christmas eve.

going home soon.

4600 sq ft on Park Avenue in top shape is probably a penthouse or similar floor worth, what, $30-40 million? Complete gut and rebuild?

I’ll say $10 million.
