Hyphen doesn't have the same ring. This was told to me by someone who administers tests at a university, so she has lots of good ones. It may, in fact, be the same one from the Snopes story, or could be someone piggybacking on Le-A's fame.

My wife's, cousin's, mother in law lived deep in the south, had to go to NY for some reason or other. She had never left her home town before and was petrified to have to leave to go to a big city. Her friends had warned her that NY was a very dangerous place and that there was a very high level of crime. But, because she had to go, she decided that she would stay in the most expensive hotel in NY. She figured that way, there had to be good security there. When she arrived, she checked into her hotel and boarded the elevator. She walked in with her bag in hand and following her in were three tall black men.
Remembering what her friends had said, she was very nervous. One of the men asked her to "hit the floor", as the door closed. The elderly woman dropped her bag and dropped to the floor...The three men explained to her that they only meant to hit their floor button.
They helped her up as she was quite shaken and she got off at her floor. When the day arrived for her to check out, she went to pay the bill only to find her bill had already been paid and that the person that paid it had left her a note. The note read, "Thanks for the best laugh I've ever had!, Reggie Jackson"

Speaking of bathrooms!I heard this story from my CEO today. Her sister went shopping at Target. She visited the ladies room and hung her handbag on the back of the toilet door. As she carried on about her business, a hand suddenly appeared over the top of the stall and grabbed her bag clean off the hook!!!As if this wasn't bad enough, she reported the incident to the manager of the store. A couple of days later she took a call to say her bag had been found, without her purse. She arranged a time to go and meet the manager to collect her things.On arriving at Target at the agreed time, the manager was not expecting her - nothing had been found, no one had called.When the lady got home, her house had been burgled, with no sign of forced entry, they had used her drivers license for the address and her keys to let themselves in!
