GM's thread about nothing (13 Viewers)

I've been a Seinfeld fan since 95 or so, but didn't get it in high school. I was late to Curb, didn't like it at first, but "Beloved Aunt" got me on board.

Hate Seinfeld, love Curb. Is that weird?
Yes.
And dumb. Between not liking Clockwork Orange and this, I'm afraid Truckacelphmotherdown and I would not get along in real life. Bums me out. :-(
Find me one funny Seinfeld bit on YouTube where Newman isn't involved. Just one.
I watch them over and over and over. They are on for an hour, back to back, at 11pm here. I watch them until I fall asleep. My favorite episodes sans Newman? One off the top of my head? And I'm not sure he wasn't on there...

The Lobsterman - The crew sets off to a beach house. George's gal takes her top off with everybody getting a full view but George. They are there to see their friend's new BAYYYBE, which is ugly as sin. Kramer steals a lobsterman's trap, George introduces 'shrinkage' to common lexicon and Elaine swings and misses chasing a doctor. No Newman. Great episode.

Does Mr. Bookman do anything for you, joy boy?
How about this scene from The Marine Biologist episode?

I actually have to go to work tomorrow. I need to be up by 7am at the latest. I've been hitting the rack every night for the last month at about 2:30am. No way am I going to sleep early. I've had 2 beers. Think I go get more?

You should definitely drink more.

I'm going to be deadly honest here, if I'm wrong I'm wrong:First 30 seconds: Stupid. The guy is talking fast. That's pretty much it. I don't know why it's funny to ask if you have instant coffee after you ask if you have no coffee?

:30 - 1:00: Wha? I guess the thing about putting on shoes was supposed to be a joke. I always like a "Steal This Book" reference, but no laughs here.

1:00 - 1:30: "Let me tell you something, funny-boy." *laugh track*

1:30 - 2:00: A random person just happens to be hitting the laugh track button at random times. Weird.

2:00 - : I can't take this anymore.

There are some Seinfeld episodes that I really. I never dug the Library Cop one however.

I can only take about one episode of Curb every month. Larry David is just one of those miserable SOBs that I don't find funny after a while.

Speaking of people I don't trust: hotel maids and valet drivers.

Whenever I go into a hotel, I put the do not disturb sign up and and leave it there for my entire trip. When I need new towels, I just call. There's no specific incident that made me this way, I just don't trust em.

As for valet drivers....had a bunch of fraternity brothers that valeted (is that the proper use of the word?) in college at a casino, and they used to rag the crap out of those cars, and rummage through the glove compartments, etc. Plus, I once valeted at a nice casino in Biloxi and the guy actually went into my CD book and changed the CD on me. I think I would have felt less violated if he stole something.

Maybe he wondered why someone would be rocking Ten on repeat for the last 15 years and wanted to help you out. :D

The Charles Bookman episode? Really? Terrible.

Marine Biologist and the Lobsterman (I was in the pool!!) were good choices. There's one episode I always mention with Kramer's wider lanes, Jerry dating Kristen Davis (HOT) with her toilet toothbrush, George's keychain lost in the pothole, and Elaine living in a janitor's closet to get Chinese food, but then Newman wraps that show up nicely at the very end. Newman is barely a step up from Mr. Peterman or Putty. Those characters couldn't carry a show, otherwise there would have been multiple spinoffs and no one even tried.

Hi guys. I get (re)married on Thursday.
:) She golf?
Real answer: No, but she's remarkably awesome in other waysShtick answer: If she did, she shouldn't be allowed on a golf course anyway
Smart man. Don't ever encourage her to pick up the game. I almost punched my brother in the throat when he told me he was teaching his new wife how to play golf.
My old man once said to me "Son, if you love your woman, never teach her how to drive or how to play golf."

This girl I'm seeing texts me last night how she loves summer rain. But it's not raining. So I look up the definition of summer rain on urbandictionary.com to make sure I know what she's talking about.

While not an exact match, the first result that comes up is close enough, makes sense to me, and I decide to roll with it and text her back.

About 5 minutes later I look out the window and it's raining. :blackdot:

Can we get a list of shows that the Seinfeld haters actually do like? That might help put things in perspective.
Sure. Here's a list of the comedies (I can give you dramas too, if that helps) that are still active that I enjoy, in no particular order:Eastbound and DownCurb Your EnthusiasmIt's Always Sunny...30 RockCommunityLouieChildrens' HospitalParks and Rec.My favorite "classic" comedy is Cheers.

Hmmm. I don't have a good answer for you. The shows you list are all pretty funny (at least those that I've seen). Not sure why you would hate Seinfeld.

Be honest, what shows were you hoping I'd say to fit your theory that I was a rube? Two and a Half Men?
