GM's thread about nothing (25 Viewers)

Hippling the last 10 pages that I missed over the weekend:

Congrats to Guster and Zooks for continuing to have an abundance of places available to store their junk, making the need for crock pot chicken unnecessary.

Congrats to GM for getting the sexy time after only one glass of wine.

Uncongrats to SLB for making his wife beg for it. Those of us not getting any find this confusing and well...confusing. Does not compute.

Congrats to BobSac for having a kick ### smoker.

So a guy I work with was, and I stress WAS as big as I am. I started noticing he has been shrinking and finally asked him what was up. He stated that about 6 months ago he started on Weight Watchers for Men and has lost about 70lbs so far  He is off his insulin and is doing great. So to make a long story short, I am going to give this a try starting this week.I absolutely need to do this if I want to live a long life. The problem is I absolutely love food and think I'm, scratch that, I KNOW I'm addicted.I'm going to try this and try hard. I feel, and this is sad commentary on me, but I feel like I will need to call someone to talk me out of stopping at fast food joints on my way home from work.I have a couple of very close friends who would absolutely take those calls and not look down on me, but it's so damn hard admitting to anyone I have a problem.Should I tell them that I might call them for support, or man up and try to do this on my own? :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag:
I've told this story many times on this board. Weight watchers is 100% legit. It's not a diet...you can eat whatever you want...it's an eating/lifestyle program that "teaches" you portion control.Initially I lost 30lbs in 3 month (195 to 165) follwoing weight watchers very strictly. After Katrina, I gained a ton of weight any got back up to 205...eventually got down to 160 via weight watchers over the course of a year or so (following it semi strict).I know you're probably laughing at this point b/c even 205 isn't ridiculous. But I absolutely love food and drinks, and I hate exercising (outside of playing sports). But WW makes weight loss easy, S.It's not hard to do...and you will feel much better for it!GLLL
Hey Tiger-Fan, did you purchase the program or just find a points book online?
i did the online thing for 3 months, then i had it down pat and did the rest off of memory

#2 My favorite thing about CSB commenting on anything on my FB is then all of my family and friends asking me who or what is a Cat Shirt Bob.
:lmao: My link
I'm 5.8" 150lbs and become a drunk superman in a strong breeze.
Gotcha. I'm 6'0 and had a 34-35" waist. I had a 32" when I graduated HS. Sort of what I'm shorting for.

I hope I just misunderstood. Coffee still hadn't kicked in while I was reading that.
You can't always be the one begging. Sometimes you have to show some balls. Or in this case, you don't unless she is going nuts for it. People have a predisposition to want things they can't have. Which is another in the long list of reasons on why the war on drugs should be ended immediately butt I digress.Shuke>GND up.

My Dad is having his hip replaced tomorrow. Except of course it isn't just any standard hip replacement. No, he spent a solid year interviewing doctors and decided to go with some world expert that doesn't replace all of the bone or something. This is the first time I've ever seen him worried about anything. Should be a fun day at the hospital tomorrow with Mom. Just a heads up that you guys need to bring it tomorrow.

We are not big Valentine's Day people, but earlier today I made some chocolate covered strawberries for the handyman who helps with our rental properties. His wife apparently loves them and I think that buying them would be out of his financial comfort zone.

So, unbeknownst to Mr. YSR, I just whipped up 2 dozen more (1 dozen milk, 1 dozen white). We are going down to SC tonight and stopping over for an overnight stay at the Harrah's Cherokee hotel. I have secretly packed a bag with a bottle of wine and these strawberries.

... and something new, bordering on trashy, from Victoria's Secret (or any place similar).Yes, it costs too much. Yes, it'll only be on for like 45 seconds anyway. But he'll get a charge out of it more than the strawberries. Sorry. If you never take my advice on anything else, take it here.

Forte>your turn, wordsmith.
I'm so getting into this when I get my new phone. If anybody can make Forte look good, it's me.
You're going to have to work pretty hard if the beginning of this game is any indication. Here is where we're at:
Forte plays EL for 4 points.YSR plays ADAPTER/AL for 65 points.Thorn plays EVITING/GAL for 69 points.Crazy Canuck plays EURO/EGAL for 13 points.It is Forte's turn.

Speaking of which, our Safeway has, "special" long-stem strawberries in boxes of like 5 berries for considerably more than an entire pint costs. And I was just thinking that the flavor of my strawberries was being substantially limited by their short stems. Thanks Safeway!

Thank you so much for the donation, Krista! I love this place.

OK, I'm going to come clean here. That last part was a lie. Not about the long-stem strawberries. That would be an odd thing to lie about. I mean the part about the flavor of my strawberries. I wasn't thinking that at all. :bag:

:lmao: Is there anyone else here who is married/in a relationship and doing absolutely nothing for Valentine's Day? No special dinner, no gifts, no cards...or am I the only one who thinks this way?

2 other GMTAN related things from this weekend not associated with the zillion texts/video messages:#1 While out at a bar with a buddy on Friday night, my buddy nudges me and says look at the blonde at the end of bar. She was gorgeous and had a great body. She was wearing a sleeveless shirt and even if I had never heard GM's skin shtick I think I still would've noticed how nice skin was. My buddy says "her body is ridiculous" and I said "She has great skin". My buddy nearly spit out his beer and said "who the hell comments on a girl's skin?" And I replied "would you believe me if I told you that I know a poor spelling albino from the internet who notices the quality of a female's skin?" He was speechless.#2 My favorite thing about CSB commenting on anything on my FB is then all of my family and friends asking me who or what is a Cat Shirt Bob.

Absolutely nothing.Still kinda hoping for the sechs, though.

And despite agreeing to do absolutely nothing, I may stop by the Costco and buy some... chocolate covereed strawberries. Though they're more for my daughter than my wife.

Yeah, we don't do anything either, but my daughter loves when I get my wife flowers.

Do you know the doc's name or the implant he's using?

Wait, I just realized that I agreed earlier today to go over to another couple's house for lasagna tomorrow night. I didn't think about the fact it was Valentine's Day. What the hell? Do you think they're inviting us over to wine and dine us and then ask us to swing? Was "lasagna" a euphemism?

I promise, we are normally that way. But, he does LOVE chocolate covered strawberries, and had I been making them for that other guy any other day of the year, I would have made extra as a surprise. It just so happens to be Valentine's tomorrow. And I'd be taking wine anyway.

Ultimately, though, who am I kidding. He'll be at the poker tables before I even have a chance to spring any of this on him.

Word on the street is that it's an Zimmer.

Not feeling the V-day love. Valentine's Day has always been special for the missus and me because I proposed to her on V-day (I was a 22 year old senior in college, so cut me some slack on the sentimentality meter).

We usually do something special, but this year we're not doing anything and I can't even get her a gift. Due to the weird paycheck issuing at my new grad school gig, I haven't been paid yet, so we've been credit carding groceries and gas for the past week.

I'm loving grad school. It's for the best in the long run. And I knew sacrifices would be made. This is kind of ridiculous though.

Perspective Needed: sorry to hear about my problems using credit cards for food that starving Ethiopians would rape a dead elephant for.

It's all about perspective.

Not meant to be critical--any day is a good day for chocolate-covered strawberries. As far as chicks go, I thought you'd be right there with me on not acknowledging this holiday, though, so I wondered if I really was on an island.
