Took the oldest SofaPrincess to the doc today. She was tripped on a breakaway in a soccer game on Saturday. Couldn't go back into the game. Had a basketball gm later that night for first place in the last regular season of CYO. Played the whole game. Find out this afternoon she has a fractured lower leg. Me yesterday: How could it hurt, you played a basketball game on it last night? You are tougher than some creepy hipster professor guy.

Kids are tough.When I was coaching softball, my daughter slid into home and came up gimping. She stayed in the game, but only because I told her to toughen up and get back out there. She played another 3 innings before she fell over out in left field.Finally took her out and after the game we found out she had a fracture in her growth plat of her left leg.Did I feel like an ###.

If you want to attempt fraudulent charges, don't go for somehting they've never seen charged before. you'll have much better luck with booze, cocaine or whores- something they typically see

It's really pretty cool to see how we support each other through all the highs and lows that we choose to share. This thread has gotten me through more than my fair share of rough days and I hope that over time my ridiculousness will be able to help someone else when they need it. Good people in here

Got an email today that our office lost over a quarter mil in December alone. We haven't been doing well since we lost our biggest customer back in July but this was a big one. Owners are pissed and will only float our office for a few more months unless things are turned around in a major way. Said they could clear our warehouse/office for the year and not lose as much money. If they shut down our office would severance be an option? I do know we're at-will but I don't know if there's anything listed in our employee handbook about it. I'll check it when I get in tomorrow but wanted to at least start planning for the worst.
ETA, sorry to hear about your loss Kubes. My little issue seems so insignificant now.

I've been laid off three times in my life. Twice I got severance and got a job before it ran out so I got to double up. Was that your question? I'm sorry. I should dlete this. I'm pretty drunk. wife and I barred it up after the funeral and now we're watching that show with that chick from Nick and Norah and I switched to booze at some point and well that will about do it. RIP Evie. I took a picture of my Maker's Mark, but iTunes annoyed me with an update and my ADD precluded me from uploading/posting a pic first. I need to learn how to get from pic taking on the phone to GMTAN more quickly. As mentioned previously, my grandmother could be dead tomorrow. She seems to be doing well, but it's still only a matter of time. We have an odd relationship, but it's still a well established one, so I get it. It'll be a tough time when she does finally pass. Her sister died on my birthday, and I used to spend 2-3 week a summer in a row with her when I was younger. She basically lived on a farm, and it was my summer camp before I was old enough for summer camp. That was certainly a mind-f*** of a birthday.
4 points over on Weight Watchers today. I'm not sure how this thing is supposed to work, because I made sure to enter my red beans & rice recipe from lunch line by line along with precise portions I ate, and included the other 12 oz coke I had, along with the 2 beers I drank to finish out my beer stock tonight with dinner. I haven't done too much differently than I have been doing since Christmas, and I was only 4 points over my daily allotment, which only knocked off 10% of my weekly allocation of "bonus points." I'm going to play around with goals tomorrow, but the points allowed per day doesn't really seem righ at the moment. I ate terribly today and Weight Watchers is basically telling me, "not bad."

Not sure on the severance front, but you should be able to get unemployment if you were so inclined. My ex wife was fired from her previous job (top performer, but had an idiot boss and let her opinion be known a bit more than may have been helpful) and was still able to collect unemployment. In dire times, every little bit can help!
