GM's thread about nothing (15 Viewers)

You ever have those moments when you're know you just fell in love? I did. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I have fallen head over heals in love with St. Louis Bob. He sent his payment for my HomeRun Pool (still waiting on some of you btw) and in the package he sent there was also coupons for OutBack Steak House and a concert T-Shirt from an Elton John and Billy Joel concert. 22 YO was over when I got the package last night and when I saw the return address I knew it was from SLB and I figured I'd wait an open it alone as I was slighly nervous about what kind of shticky items might be in it. But 22 YO was curious so I opened it in front of her and we were both cracking up. She started to ask why he would send all of that stuff, but then she stopped and said "never mind, I really don't think I want to know the answer". God bless you Dilfer!!!
Did I pay yet?

Conversation I just heard outside my office:Paralegal #1: "There's only 50 states in the United States? Is that right?"Paralegal #2: "Huh?"Paralegal #1: "States in the United States. There's only 50?Paralegal #2: "Um, yeah."Must be a graduate of Tanner's school.
:lmao:

gotta be more than 50 when you count all the directional Dakotas, Carolinas, and Virginias plus old and new versions of York, Jersey, Hampshire, and Mexico.
:goodposting: There's probably no way even to know for certain how many there really are out there.
If it were up to me we would consolidate a lot of the states.1 Dakota1 CarolinaIdaho/Montana/Wyoming maybe Wyoming/ColoradoNew Hampshire/VermontArizona/NMIndiana/IllinoisIowa becomes part of Minnesota or MissouriNebraska/KansasDelaware gets folded into New Jersey or Maryland or whateverConnecticut annexed by NYI'm sure there are others.

The way you think, I like it. I'd only object to Indiana/Illinois, though if you cut Chicago out it could work. But then you wouldn't be saving a state.I'd add Kentucky/Tennessee and Alabama/Mississippi (never remember which one's which anyway). Really all of New England could just be one state, called "New New England".

Very good points. My only fear is that if states like KY and TN or AL and MS join forces they could do even more damage.Who should get Arkansas? Louisiana or Missouri?

Having dinner with the kids. The Boy puts his hand to his mouth, feels his bottom front tooth and exclaims, "Dad, my tooth is loose! This is the greatest thing ever! This is the greatest day ever in my life!!"

Getting laid is going to blow his ####### mind.

Shoot, MexiJoe, check in here when you can, GB. :(

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - Two members of the U.S. Coast Guard were found shot to death at an air base on Kodiak Island in Alaska on Thursday, and the installation was placed on a security alert, the Coast Guard said.

The two were found dead at a communications facility at the Coast Guard Base Support Unit Kodiak, and authorities were looking for a potential suspect who might be at large, according to a Coast Guard statement.

Because circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear, the Coast Guard said the base, located about 250 miles southwest of Anchorage, was placed on lockdown as a precaution, as were nearby schools in the area.

"Since we don't have all the details, we strongly advise that all Kodiak residents remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement officials," Coast Guard Captain Jesse Moore, the commanding officer of the base, said in the statement.
Have you heard from him at all? CNN has an article with the names posted here.Hope if he was there that he's ok.

The victims were identified Friday as Petty Officer 1st Class James Hopkins, an electronics technician, and Richard Belisle, a civilian, who was a retired Coast Guard chief petty officer.

Why not merge the little states like Vermont and New Hampshire?
New hamphire is filled with people who want the benefits of living near boston without any of the costs, so they soak the people closest to the border with massive property taxes while they still somehow manage to live cheaper than the mass holes to their south. Vermont is filled with people who are blissfully unaware that boston exists until ski season, when they want to remind us that living in the city isn't dangerous enough unless you hurtle yourself down an icy mountain covered in fake snow at high speed towards trees and death cookies made of rocks, dirt and ice on a pair of sticks designed to rip your crotch in half unless you smartly fall in the snow to slow your descent and soak your expensive ski pants on a sub zero day. Totally different imo.
