The first half winners from my home run pool will be coming out later today. I offer my thoughts and prayers to those of you who clearly must be going thru some troubling times since you haven't been able to get your $25 entry fee to me and it's been over 3 months. Perhaps a payment plan might work? How can I help you with this? Help me help you.

OKCupid Dating Update:

So I get cancelled on Sunday for a third date, and my text message to her the next day gets ignored. Just when I think, OK this one didn't work out, moving on, I get a text from her at 3:30 this morning, wanting to know what it was that my wife wouldn't do in the bedroom.

  :excited:

The girl I had the first date with, we haven't gone out again, but she has become my Texas Rangers texting buddy. When she called Verlander a ####er last night, I swooned a little.

I have a late night coffee date with a new girl tomorrow night. She has already said that she is not girlfriend material but is fun to mess around with.

I need a nap.
:hifive: we expect pics! :)

Did I win?

Might have a possible "Knuckles" type situation.

There is a girl I grew up with who has been living in California for the last 12 years or so. Since my divorce, she always lets me know when she's gonna be in town and we usually grab a drink. Nothing physical has ever happened between us, we've been friends since we were 12 years old, but we've always been very flirty with each other. She's very attractive, nice body and is a Yoga instructor. Last March she was in town for her mother's birthday and we grabbed lunch and she said that she was thinking about moving back to the my area permanently this summer. She's kinda sick of Cali and wants to be closer to her family and friends. She also mentioned about getting older (just turned 36) and no boyfriend or any potential boyfriend on the horizon in Cali and that she always wanted kids, but now that she's getting older she isn't sure and maybe she'd be better off finding a guy who already has a kid (someone like Gadzooks perhaps???)

So she flew into town last week and is going to be here for 6 weeks and then go back to Cali and then decide what she wants to do. In many ways she's kinda perfect for me: we've been friends forever, in high school she was a cheerleader and I played basketball and her parents and my parents always sat together. She loves kids but doesn't think she wants to have one but would be interested in a single Dad. Loves the Celtics and all New England sports teams. Her negatives are that she is an extremely liberal, save-the-earth, pro-PETA type and is really into Yoga/meditating. And the worst thing about her is her diet: she's into one of those weird Vegan diets and won't eat anything with Gluten in it. I admit I don't even really know what Gluten is, but I'm guessing it's bad and it's something is in everything I eat and love. I eat red meat multiple times every day and she is disgusted by red meat.

I don't feel the "connection" with her, but I would have no problem having crazy Yoga-style secks with her while she's home. Starting yesterday and for the rest of this week she is actually staying at a friend's house that lives down the street from me. She joked about us being neighbors for the week. The people she's staying with are good friends of her parents and are about 60 years old (probably had Tanner for a teacher in grade school) So last night I was home alone and decided to get completely wasted by myself and didn't want to talk to anyone. I pretty much spent most of the night upstairs in my air conditioned bedroom drinking, watching the All Star game and texting the 23 Year Old (her and I are now completely just friends and that is fine btw) So I have the TV on, the AC on and my bedroom door closed. I get a text from this Cali girl at 10:30 that says "hey, we just knocked on your door, it looks like your home, your lights are on and your car is in driveway. I looked in a couple windows but I don't see you. If you're not doing anything, let us in" I'm thinking "WTF". I've never met these people she's staying with even though they live down the street from me, why would I let them in my house at 10:30 on a random Tuesday night? Cali girl and I usually text each other a few times each day, so why would she just come to my house with strangers at 10:30 without texting me first to see if it was ok? Or to check and see if I had my son with me (which I didn't have him but she didn't know that)

I wasn't sure what to do so I hid under my blanket and didn't respond to her text. 15 minutes later she texted again: "Hope you're ok". So after a few minutes I responded and said I was upstairs in bed and didn't hear the knock and that I was falling asleep anyways. She then immediately responds: "ok we're back at your front door, come down and let us in". I didn't respond and then texted again "ok, nevermind, we're heading back to their house now. Maybe tomorrow night?" I told her I'd let her know today. Then I got really wasted and made a rather odd text video where I talked about TRE's ####.

Am I over reacting or is this strange behavior?

So last weekend we were out of town for my cousin's wedding. The reception was actually on the ISU campus. Mrs. SLB made a remark about how it "smelled like college" in the building and man did it ever. Really brought back memories.

Anyhow after the short (thank God) wedding, we headed to a bar close to the reception for a few cocktails. Those of you on the text list got a pic of the blond that is the GF of one of my cousins. Seriously hate him. So hot. Anyhow, his brother had a lady friend there, Krista, as his date that I never met before. (Hack, she is half Inuit!) Good looking chick too and likes to booze. She would be perfect for me. Anyhow Cal noticed her at the bar and approached her.

I'm sorry, but Medici isn't a bar.
Not only was there a bar, there were TWO bars.

My friend who is getting married in SF just emailed me to ask if Romo and I would like to stay in the penthouse suite at the Fairmont on Saturday night after the wedding. They rented it for the reception, and were originally going to stay there, but they have decided to stay in another suite in the hotel so that they can actually leave[/] the reception and have some privacy. And because they have already paid for it, they would hate for it to go unused.

That decision was possibly the biggest no-brainer in the history of no-brainers for me.

Also, because I was able to fly us there with miles, and three of our four nights are free due to hotel points and an overly generous bride, we are only going to be paying for our Sunday night hotel which will be near-ish the airport. This frees up our budget for activities and food, so any and all recommendations are welcome.

Glad you made it safe & sound to Seattle too GB. Also, happy birthday Cos.
I'm new to FB and never trust giving too much personal info to strangers. So I got about 20 happy birthdays today, 12 days early.
July 22? We have something in common, GB.
Facebook liars? Manly good looks?
Yes!

But of course.BTW, I love that the term '"Knuckles" situation' exists.

Doesn't seem that weird. She obviously wants it. I don't get who she was with, though.

He walked up introduced himself, shook her hand (I taught him that) and delivered his pick up like. "Hi, I'm Calvin H., I just got finished with 2nd grade and I weigh 65 pounds." Needless to say, she was pretty impressed. The reception was about to start so we had to go and as we were leaving I asked him if he thought she was pretty. He replied "yes, but I have a girlfriend." That of course would be Megan who is a 20 yo sophomore, sorority girl, in college. When we got to the car, he tells me that he probably should have added that he can read at a 5th grade level. :lmao:

So of course at the reception Cal caught the garter. Dylan asked me what that meant and I told him that Cal was getting married. Dyl broke into hysterical tears. ( :lmao: smart kid) I took me a couple of minutes to calm him down.

Mrs. SLB posted the pic on FB and Megan has agreed to marry Cal.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Good stuff...my 8 month old has his caveman schtick down too already. He yells at the top of his lungs to get the lady's attention. When she turns to look at him his makes the biggest smile and waves both his arms violently. Surprisingly it seems to work 100% of the time even after he starts pulling their hair when they get too close.

1. My link2. Dealbreaker right there. There's like a 95% chance that she can eat gluten and is just a nutbag.

3. My link 2

 Want to get drunk in a really cool/historic place? Get to North Beach somehow and go to Vesuvio. Right across from the City Lights bookstore. Kerouac used to get bombed there.

Edit: Just checked...it's less than a mile away from the Fairmont.

Big news around here...

Wife works as a catering manager for a large chain restaurant. She just found out this morning that they are doing away with her position (and all of the other catering managers). The good news is that she will move to just being a regular in-house manager.

She'll probably be making the same amount of money to start off. Her salary will be higher but she won't earn commission like she used to. I'm fine with that since they constantly monkeyed with her commission requirements.

The other good news is that there is a good chance she will be inline to be a general manager sometime in the next year.

The "bad" news? She has to go down to L.A. to train for 3 weeks starting next week.

I used to live across the street from Grant & Green. Also a cool bar. Stay away from Frenet Blanca--evil, foul, poison.

Are you driving to SF?
so much to see and do in that place. throwing trash at Truck has to rate among the best though.
I thought she was flying phobic? Have to manage through the exteme thunderstorms in the south then the crazy air currents over the rockies then of course the hellish north pacific drift as you approach SF. Pretty courageous if you ask me.

I think I drank there once as well. I seem to remember asking the bartender "When someone calls and asks where you're located do you just hang up?"

Yours or hers?

because I was able to fly us there with miles
Are you driving to SF?
so much to see and do in that place. throwing trash at Truck has to rate among the best though.
I thought she was flying phobic? Have to manage through the exteme thunderstorms in the south then the crazy air currents over the rockies then of course the hellish north pacific drift as you approach SF. Pretty courageous if you ask me.
I HOPE THIS IS SHTICK.

I can't find any checkbooks.

The "bad" news? She has to go down to L.A. to train for 3 weeks starting next week.
I took this to mean that you want me to take some vacation time and go out there and live with you for a couple weeks? Should be fun, we'll hit some BINGO parlors, I'll take you for walks and we'll go to Olive Garden. I hope you have freeze pops. I'll bring some CatNip. Can't wait!!!

If you're really feeling crazy the Olive Garden is within walking distance.

Good restaurant.

So, ummmmm, Drifter, what's it like working at Amazon?

Let's all move to Seattle!

Thoprawishes and/or congrats to shuke's feet and everyone else on whatever I've missed the past few days.

Might have a possible "Knuckles" type situation.
Yours or hers?
I think based on everything I've ever typed here, we both know that my behavior is not quite normal. I'm questioning her behavior of coming to my house unannounced with strangers, knocking on my door, looking in my windows and texting me to let them in.
