GM's thread about nothing (11 Viewers)

Mr. krista4 assures me that it is actually OK to invite every person we know in Memphis over for a crab/shrimp/crayfish boil and that he can handle all that cooking. I don't see any way this could possibly go wrong. :excited:
I don't remember having received my invitation. Address must have gotten lost.
 Lot of that going around.GM, it's in October--when will you be passing through this area? :)

So yeah I am not known for much of anything around these parts but reading this last page about Kendell's problems whilst well on my way to drunkeness makes for a great evening esp after having my mother<language filter> car die on me on my way home. So thanks for the laughs.
Hang on a second...your car broke down today and you are JUST NOW getting around to telling us? Has YSR taught you nothing? Geez, Hawks84...no wonder you're under the radar. Where is YOUR dedication?
Sorry GM, you are right that's why I am under the radar. Well that and my lack of skill with the written word.
Don't worry Hawks64, he isn't talking about you.But your first thought when you do something should always be "Should this go in the thread about nothing??"

Here's my submissionhttp://img21.imageshack.us/img21/209/img002hwn.jpg
Is this just a bad cursive contest, or handwriting in general? I'm pretty sure I haven't written in cursive since they stopped making it mandatory around the eight grade.
I kind of have a sloppy hybrid version of both, maybe 80% Print/15% cursive/5% unknown.
:goodposting: That's what I do...ALL CAPS as well.
Went to college to be an architect, came out a structural engineer. I always print in all CAPS as well. Although even with that my wife has a hard time reading it sometimes.

I think she's actually coming upstairs and intentionally making extra noise to try to wake him up. So far, we're still winning. I'd go ahead an accuse her of it, but post-partum hormones coupled with my three extememely strong cranberry vodkas would make this an explosive situation, and one I'm going to try to avoid unless I think it will lead to me going to bed and her staying up with him.

I have several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Memphis, so I count.Just had this conversation with my wife.[News talking about the Bears upcoming game on Monday]Wife: Do the Bears play on Sunday?Me: This upcoming Sunday?Wife: YeahMe: No, they play on MondayWife: So they play on Monday Night Football? :popcorn:In her defense, she is 36 weeks pregnant, and has been on bedrest for the last two weeks so she is getting cabin fever.

Flying out to Seattle next week for an interview with a a good gig for a company everyone has heard of. This one has just felt like it was going to happen right from the start. One more round to go and Drifter is hitting the northwest with a not yet 2 year old and a not quite yet newborn. Oh and did I mention I just bought the house I'm in last summer?:goodposting:ETA - Also been talking with Nike for what is maybe even a better gig. That one is about a month behind the one above though.
Both excellent places to raise kids. IMO.

Good god, man. Don't anger it.

Funny how that happens...I went into the airforce to be a fighter pilot, but ended up in college doing aerospace engineering, which turned to mechanical engineering, which turned to teaching, which derailed into working at an underground club as a bouncer/bartender/blackjack dealer, which further derailed into being a pizza baker, turned to restaurant/bar owner, which turned to highschool math teacher, which turned into roadie work, which turned into TV shows, which ended up turning into computer consultancy, which turned into running a company, which turned into crap...

I guess it's not really related, but I only do CAPS too for some reason...

At least I was consistently drunk, so I have that going for me. Consistency is important. I'm very consistent right now! :goodposting:

Sup.

Just wanted to check in in probably the only thread that's any good on FBGs these days.
:goodposting: Sup!
How's it going? You said your company turned into crap? Economy do you in?You still in Houston?
That was the company in Sweden... Economy didn't do it, well, maybe kind of, the financial backer decided to roll his Audi S8 about 5,000 times when the road turned, and he didn't.Still in Houston, but I'm getting itchy to move...

Interesting new strategy: walkiing around the upstairs topless, knowing full well nothing can happen, and knowing that I know nothing can happen, and knowing how long it has been since something could happen and knowing how I feel about that. Interesting tactic.

I turned the light off to try to combat the situation, but the kitchen light is on and the backlighting makes her look like that chick in that scene in Sin City. Not sure what her goal is here, but my new goal is to get her back downstairs so I can look at some "interesting" web sites before Ben wakes up. I feel like the three extra strong drinks aren't going to help me here.

Sorry to hear that GB.Thanks for running that WC pool this summer. You gonna run one for Euros?BTW, I've been watching Wallander on PBS and reading the Steig Larson books, and I can't stop thinking about you now. There seems to be a lot of weird murders in Sweden on those stories. Is that true to life? All we have here in Oakland is gang violence.

Bummer.

She's downstairs, I'm upstairs. Downstairs is where we have HDTV, which is where we have the HD- Direct TV box, so that's where we get HBOZHD, which is where I"ve seen such classics as "Bikini Frankenstein", "Alien Sex Files 3", and "Cleavagefield", none of which are available on the upstairs box. I was going to complain about that, which is why I typed the words that come before these words, but I just realized I have a computer with internet access so never mind.

This is when you bust out the camera phone imo.

There's really only one solution here. Grab the camera. I'm just thinking of you, GB.

I haven't figured out how to get mine to not make the shutter noise. Otherwise I would totally get all sneaky and take one and not post it on the internet.

Hiding pregnancy boobs from your friends is actually a felony. Little known fact.

Not really weird, no... well, at least it didn't use to be that way. The country has turned pretty ugly the last 20-30 years. It's really bad in places.Welfare state running out of money, coupled with a horrible integration and immigration policy, coupled with socialism. Not exactly a recipe for Eutopia.

I could write essays on the topic, but maybe not while drunk. THat would get me banned form here pretty quick I'm sure. Let's just say that organized crime from most of the eastern block, and middle east, coupled with gang violence from the same is getting increasingly common.

That was a great chat day!also> Jan Guillou's crusader trilogy (also a movie), the 12(?) Hamilton books / Liza Marklund / Bjorn Hellberg are all worthy of a read or two.

2 things:#1) I am exhausted and should be asleep right now, but I find myself obsessed with the goings-on in the Frosty house.#2) Bikini Frankenstein was excellent. I was watching Alien Sex Files 3 the other night and started to rub one out, however, my dog was staring me with a disapproving look on his pathetic face. He was in front of the window and the way the street light outside reflected through the window, it gave the appearance of a halo over the dog's head. There was no way I could rub one out with the K-9 Jesus staring me down.

oh, btw TUp, I haven't had a chance to learn how to convert those movies to NTSC DVDs yet, but I might have time to test some stuff this weekend.

Somehow Alex Smith being on tv last night got me laid tonight. Not sure I completely understand how those dots connected.

Mr. krista4 assures me that it is actually OK to invite every person we know in Memphis over for a crab/shrimp/crayfish boil and that he can handle all that cooking. I don't see any way this could possibly go wrong.
This is the easiest big party cooking task to pull off... provided you know how to do it in the first place. If the crowd is way large, you just add 1/3 of the original spices to the mix after the 1st batch.I think it's 1/3. Hell, put one half back in there and call people pansies if they complain.

:lmao: Good plan.He definitely knows how to cook this stuff, and like you he said it would be the easiest thing to cook for a large group. I started to think it sucks that he will be cooking all the time and not get to entertain and see people, but then I remembered he doesn't like people anyway.

Baby woke up. I fed him (went well). During the post feeding holding period (we have to hold him upright for 30 minutes after feeding due to the reflux) I fell asleep/passed out. Wife came upstairs and got me up. No fireworks.

I'm now downstairs and really tired (he's alseep). Debating going to bed or having another beer and waiting for Bikini Frankenstein, coming on at 12:50 central. I enjoyed it quite a bit last time it was on.
