GM's thread about nothing (10 Viewers)

Figure I'll ask in here.Had a second interview this time in person. Was told a talent coordinator will be in touch (basically a recruiter)THe hiring manager interviewed me this time - salary still has not been discussed. What's the play - wait till the "talent coordinator" contacts me ? See what the offer is if I get it?Email hiring manager with the question?Pretty sure it's not to do number 3
I would wait for the offer. FWIW
Yep. The talent person will get your current salary, bonus, etc. and expectations from you. If you aren't in the neighborhood, they won't waste their time with you, so I wouldn't worry about it. I'd never want to be the one that blinks first on this. Wait until they want you and then you'll see where they'll go for you, but rest assured that if they can't get to what you need, they're not wasting their time.
I have three phone interviews tomorrow, including one for the Goshen, IN job (which you'll recall is just south of Elkhart).
GLGBK4... I hope you get 3 offers and they all kick ###
What happened with the current gig? I have missed quite a bit of this thread of late....
Still gainfully employed, but just deciding if she wants to go down with the sinking ship or not
Not entirely sinking, but close enough.

Those of you that saw my fan fiction bombing of the Star Wars Episodes VII - IX thread might be interested to know that I've received three PMs requesting a copy of the complete story. I guess some people will read anything.

Thanks Guster, glad to hear that it's on K4's terms.
Thanks to you and to all the other well-wishers. :)Got more info from my boss tonight. I told him that I was considering just quitting without another job and that at best I intend to leave mid-next-year. He shared some additional info indicating that it was likely that our ownership would decide to pay out bonus for some of us (including me) at 65% for the year, and that they would communicate this within a month. I'd have to stick around until mid-March for this, but even at that percentage I am looking at staying an additional three months for an additional six-figure payout (yes, I know that might seem like "look at me" but I feel like giving full info to get my advice here, so suck it), so that does affect my thinking...Totally don't want to be at the company if my boss quits (which is weird because I'm the only candidate to get his job), and we discussed that in further detail as well, but I don't see him going anywhere in the next few months... I'm going to continue with the semi-aggressive job search but might wish to postpone any moves until March at least if I can. The Milwaukee job involves a house buyout, though, so that would be tempting in any case.Sheesh, much more than anyone cares about. I'm just typing here to get my thoughts together.

You're nuts not to stick it out then IMO. Just don't work so hard and feel free to have a few bottles of wine at lunch.Plus my birthday is in March and I've had my eye on this..

Yeah, I took a little creative license and left out the part where it's beaten you into the ground to the point where you're almost a shell of your former self. Realistically, you've held on far longer than almost every one of us has out of a sense of loyalty and determination. I just hope that the right situation comes along in the right way so that you're able to maximize your happiness. You've held this March out front of yourself as a carrot to keep yourself going, but ultimately that's not really how you're wired. I'm just hoping for the best for you and selfishly hope that if you do change roles, your new one gives you more time to post here! Oh and it would be sweet if you got the one in Portland and made some connections that could help your GB guster get a job out there too

But then how would we get random updates about Darko's mail?

Of course 11 years ago I decided to forgo a six figure payday to start our business. I would have had to wait a year though. Guess this makes my previous post pretty hypocritical.

As I just hope you get your health and smile back, GB.

Question for the godless heathens in here.I am a man of faith. When something crappy is happening to one of my friends, I pray for them, regardless of their spirtual leanings. With my Christian friends, I'll let them know I'm doing so. Is it weird to hear "hey man, I'm praying for you?" Should I just not bring it up? Or even though you think it's hooey do you still appreciate the thought?
We still appreciate knowing someone cares.
:goodposting:

I'm a moron. I picked the Eagles in the office pool. Their screwing the pooch tonight lost it for me. This is the second time the Eagles cost me the pool. Another $18 slips away.

I'm an atheist but if someone is praying for me then I am very appreciative. If your god is all-loving an all that ####, then it should do some good, right?

I don't get your question at all. Haven't you been working with the recruiter? Just follow up with him.

Second Annual GMTAN Secret Santa Shtick Exchange

PM me your address if interested.* I'll take PMs until midnight CST Sunday, 12/2. That gives everyone a week to sober up from the long holiday weekend and get in (YSR and UH I'm looking at you two). I'll randomize the names and match each participant with a Secret Santa and send them out.

So that it is affordable for everyone try to limit gifts to the $25-$50 range, but use your best judgement. Please try to ship gifts to arrive in time for Christmas, say by 12/18. That should give you 2 weeks to find your gift(s) and a week for shipping.

Shtick it up, folks.

*Personal information will be kept strictly confidential and only given to your Secret Santa. I didn't save anyone's address from last year so please send it again.
Address sent.

Reminder bump.

Stopping for beer at a gas station on my drunken trip home from the bar tonight, I decided to give a shady looking couple a ride back to their seedy motel a couple miles away. Everything turned out fine but I sure felt like there was a decent chance my life would end by drunkenly transporting two semi-homeless people in the middle of the night. Very awkward ride three wide in my pickup.

Also I just booked a flight to Portland in August, so I hope I get to have a beer with GM.
