GM's thread about nothing (19 Viewers)

Saw ads for that when I was there. One said that it would hurt local microbreweries. Any idea why they are saying that?

Maybe it was that bartender?Unrelated: I want to get some money down on the Twins in the ALDS. Does anyone know where the best series price is for them, and can anyone accommodate me via PayPal? I see +150 at Sportsbook. TIA

I was helping my 2nd grader with his homework last night and he asked me about the following question:

"Which words go together:

Cake

Presents

Monkeys

Candles"

I told him that would be a pretty good party for a 7 y.o., so circle them all.

:goodposting: My 2nd grader went to a birthday party a few weeks ago. There was a monkey in attendance.

Sweet...I'm gonna cite this if his teacher marks it wrong. :lmao:

You should cite that questions that overly rely on a similar cultural background are not a proper indicator of intelligence.

This probably isn't even the worst question I've seen this year...not sure where she's getting her homework material from.-Congrats on the job, BTW. Hope its not as intense at their interviewing process.

So a local establishment has this on their menu:

Chocolate Covered Bacon Sundae -

Chocolate covered bacon, bourbon roasted pineapple, vanilla ice cream, Guiness chocolate sauce.

How can you go wrong with chocolate covered bacon?

I had some at a ballgame this summer. Wasn't as delicious as I thought it would be.

Yeah, I'm not so sure I'd like it either. But it is intriguing...

And tell him a teacher from the internet said that all of them were correct as well.

Leaving for the Daniel Tosh show in about an hour. I must be nuts.

Let me know if this is worth going to. He's coming to NOLA on Friday, and there are still tickets left.

headed down to Nawlins Nov 3-24, boomtown over harrah's this time for poker

Is there any way I might die from inhaling insulation, and if so how quickly? A late afternoon attic cat rescue has had me coughing and sneezing and full of hives for five hours.

What do you do if you inhale fiberglass insulation?Breathing fibers may irritate the airways resulting in coughing and a scratchy throat. There is not much you can do other that cough (helps body get rid of it) and wait for the body to clean it out. Do not smoke cigarettes during irritation.

Only if it was pink.
Now that's just cruel.

Thanks! :goodposting:I didn't see anything in there about not drinking copious amounts of wine to help ease the pain. :banned:

I've been involved in a couple-of-years-long Scrabble match with ahrncitypahnder and he's been on a tear lately. I have the letters this go-round but lack both the wherewithal and board placement for them. If I have to lose to him, again, any suggestions on gracious loser smack talk?

Furley> looking at you here.

The boar was outstanding. Also tried escargot for the first time, so I guess I can cross that of the non-existent list that I have.
How was the boar prepared? And how is your baby doing these days?
Raspberry lambic braised. He's good. No health issues. He's still got the acid reflux of course, which can cause problems, such as yesterday when he was awake from 8am - 10pm, which is not good for a baby or for a wife who stays home with him, but he's overall healthy. I sometimes feel really bad if I get mad about him not sleeping and/or constantly crying, but then I remember I have to use all my energy on not throwing him threw the front window and I can't waste any energy on guilt.Seriously though, he's healthy and good and fun and irritating and everything babies are, but with a slight extra dose of pain in the ###.

Pretty good. Of course the last time I saw a stand up show was during the Clinton administration.

True escargot right out of the shell or American steak house escargot where it's already out of the shell and swimming in garlic butter?
