GM's thread about nothing (22 Viewers)

Found this in the comments section of a Deadspin article about the Lance Armstrong interview and thought of GM.

If I wanted to hear the opinions of some smug ####### who rides a bike and does drugs, I'd just go to Portland

Everybody gets a medal. Hurray! My kid lost, don't give him a medal. And this award ceremony. JFC the award ceremony in Star Wars wasn't even close to this long and they blew up a ####### Death Star!!!!
Of course it wasn't. Not everyone got a medal in Star WarsWaaaaaaaaaaaa
:lmao: Let's go Han. Mrs. Slb helped set up 4 hours Wednesday and 5 hours yesterday yet creepy pedo guy gave all the credit to the freaks dressed in little boys scout uniforms. :lmao:

Austin dudes - may be available for impromptu Coshole preview tomorrow night.
Damn. I just made plans, but I can shake loose around 9 or 10 if that's not to late. Or you can come here and join us for a birthday dinner got my house manager. Shrimp fajitas. she's turning 38.
My daughter was just in Austin this past week singing with her College Choir Tour. She loved it and wants to go back during Spring Break.Cos, what kind of prices would be looking at for a few days in April?
Monetary price or the cost to her mental well-being?
Isn't Austin a great music town? She has added Austin to her short list of moving to after college. We would be staying 2-3 nights, so monetary.
you can see the rates at albertoaks.com. Lowest price room is 109. Are margins are thin and we will probably have to raise prices this summer, but I offer a bit of a discount to friends/family- stay o nights and third night half price. I can pick her up at the airport and shuttle her downtown a couple of times. Full breakfast is also included. My number's on the website, give me a call and I'll set you up or help you find somewhere else.

I took a look at your website the other night. That place is swank.

Watching Seinfeld. Elaine and Kramer bump into each other at the movie rental store - VHS. Gene's picks vs. Vincent's picks. And it struck me. My daughter will never step foot in a movie rental store. My boys remember and miss Blockbuster, but my daughter - 8 years younger than Coop - will have no clue what it is. Hell for that matter, only Kellen would MAYBE remember what a VHS is. We sure do move fast in this world. Makes me wonder: With all these rapid advancements in technology; with kids having tablets instead of books, iPods instead of Walkmen, Google instead of Encyclopedias - are our kids going to be more or less smarter than us? Seems like they don't have to....effort for the information as hard as we did. So maybe we'll have them beat on work ethic. But they can process so much information so quickly with and with such ease. This Jerk Store episode is one of Seinfeld's best, IMO.

Just booked a flight to Spain. Will be traveling with my cousin's husband's cousin.... so we're cousins in law? She's single and hot. The trip kind of started as a joke and has now become a reality. We've never hung out, outside of family functions. Should be fun...
Where in Spain? I love Spain. I might be the only guy in here more excited about where you're going than who you're going with.

I'd love to see the stats. The proverbial 1-99 is nearing fruition.
At 1-3, you'll never even sniff me again on teh word games. I think I have "Beating Mr. Pickles Nov. 2011" on my resume. Rung up a 101 play on Homer the other day. :bowtie:

Well, I do have a lot of a opinions and for better or worse, I tend to voice them. Check on the bike and the drugs. Smug? Yeah...I bet there'd be a few dozen that would use that adjective for me. Porlandia was right!

Saw a Blockbuster in my sister's neck of the woods the other day. Did a double-take. Probably been 5+ years since I've been in a "video" store. I used to be one of their best customers.Nowadays we have so much content and it's so readily available that you can find your niche and nearly have and endless supply. Whereas in the past, out of sheer boredom, you would watch different types of programming. My 9-year-old nephew has endless supply of Diary of a Wimpy Kid or ParaNorman. When I was his age I caught Platoon and Mississippi Burning after already renting Goonies and Beetlejuice.Almost like the vast amount of content makes you less diverse.

Can't sleep. Realize left all of my liquor at the house of a girl when we celebrated New Years. Found a dusty bottle of Crown in the garage. Took three-ish shots.

Thinking you have no liquor then finding a bottle of crown is instance when you need to tip your hat to the gods.

We still have an independent video store in my town. Always surprised it's still there, but from what I hear it's like a real life chat room for movie geeks.

Was watching the same episode last night and was thinking some of the same things. Really hit me when Elaine got the play button on her VCR from Vincent and then later when his Mom demands it back."I'm going with Jerk Store. Jerk Store is the line. (pause) Jerk Store!" :lmao:

As I've stated a handful of times here, I play poker every day with my coworker Vipul. We typically play for just 15-20 minutes at a time. We've developed our own victory mantras and one of mine that I like to bellow out is:ANOTHER GAME FOR MEEEELOSH!!!!!!

Why wouldn't a baseball fan want to go to Wrigley?
I'm jaded and assume that marketing #######s have gotten their dirty mittens on Wrigley Field and turned it into something undesirable. Here's hoping I am wrong.
Wrigley Field is great. No marketing there, place is still a ####hole but full of character.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Absolutely no marketing at all in that facility that's named after a corporation.

Got back from Atlanta and "Leadership Level 2" seminar.Couple of things first.....TWP to both Bogart & Tanner. I had a sick MIL living with us when we finally had to call in Hospice to get some relief. They were wonderful and, anyone looking for a worthy cause should consider them. I think I've written here about my dad having dementia (probably Alzheimers) - it ####### sucks. I can relate to both of you, though that probably doesn't help with your grief.K4 - you guys in Nicaragua? Did Julio like the cap? He wanted one that had been worn in a game, but I couldn't swing that. Tell him I said hello.Funny airplane story (to me, at least): My seat was 11A, which - I think - should've put me on the window in a 3-seat row. When I boarded, there was a huge woman in the middle, so I sat on the aisle. For the longest time, it appeared we would be able to have a seat between us but, alas, the LAST guy on was in our row. I stood aside and let him in and he climbed over the big lady to sit by the window. One flight attendant came down the aisle and whispered to me out of the side of her mouth "are you waiting for an upgrade?" I said "huh?" but she kept going and window-dude said "I am". She obviously didn't hear him because, a few minutes later another FA came by and said out of the side of her mouth "go to 2A". I said "me?". She replied "2A". So I went to 1st Class. If they charged window-dude's credit card for the upgrade, he's gonna be pissed.
Yes, we're here. Julio loved the hat; I'm sure he'll be emailing you sometime when we're not working him too much. ;)

Wrigley field on game day is Heaven. Of that I am certain.
:goodposting: I'm completely shuked as to why someone wouldn't go to Wrigley. It's not really about watching the game, but it's a fantastic experience. If you're more into baseball itself, go to the South Side for a White Sox game, which, unless you're GM, is a perfectly safe endeavor. Miller Park in Milwaukee is a fun time and worth doing, though it's just a bit of a generic park like many others. The sausage race is fun (that's what she said) and the guy doing down the slide when there's a HR. Both White Sox and Brewers games are more family-friendly than Cubs, but as a single guy you really just need to spend all your time at Wrigley. As to some of your other questions:-There's a big long thread here about Chicago eats. If you have specific stuff you are looking for, post that and I'll give some suggestions. -The Metra is really nice and should get you to wherever you are in Lake County and back down to the city when you want. Much preferable to the El. - for saying you're going to adopt the Blackhawks as your team. :) You can easily get to one of the downtown or north side Metra stations from United Center for an easy train ride home. The only problem is that in the late evening the trains tend to scale down to once every hour or so, so you have to time it so you're not waiting forever.-I know nothing about Waukegan and environs so no help there, but looks like lots of people are steering you away from it. Also know nothing about fishing.
