Getting a house with a bunch of friends for a 3 day vacation in April. Will be 10 adults and 15 kids I've got to cook dinner one of the nights. Got an entire kitchen and a grill at my disposal. We're doing burgers and hotdogs for the 2 lunches, so I can't go that route...looking to take it up a notch or two from there...but at the same time, this doesn't need to be a 5 course meal. Any ideas on what to cook? Initial brainstorms are the following:1. Marinated chicken skewers with peppers and pineapple2. Taco/Nacho bar3. Grilled Pork Tenderloins with various sauces (grilled veggies as side)

I can break that dream down. Hes also intriguing - a hard working guy who is famous for being able to portray a guy who is both protagonist and antagonist - the android with dreams of something bigger, the mutant who wants to protect his own kind by going on the offensive against humanity, and so on. Plus he has a huge, gaping smile, like your fa china. And zevon represents your feelings of insecurity, because you feel like there are some people who unfairly are handed things they don't deserve, and that you can't overtake them even if you're in the right because the rules are slanted against you. And in your world, you put yourself higher on the ladder than guys like truck, but while you think you could be a zevon it seems like you'll never get that chance. You need to get a sense of control back in your life, and give some thought to whether you want to be more like truck or more like zevon, or if you're happy being just who you are - a well liked pseudo celebrity who sometimes feels like the photo negative of the person you think you can be.

I've only given it a shot a few times, and realized I didn't have the right kind of rice when I was cooking it (per Tipsy)...I honestly enjoy cooking other things more, so I have basically abandoned cooking it. But you're right, I really should get a recipe down pat one of these days.

So, the prior post about this is here. Yesterday, redX was out of town on a business trip meaning that she missed our son's first t-ball game. No biggie - I know she'd have been there if she had a chance. As a result, I invited girlfriend and her two kids to come.

The team moms know redX, who's good at interacting in the "team mom" world. She tends not to let people know that we're divorced in these situations, and people therefore tend to assume we're still together as we do hang together at these sorts of events. Even though she opted to revert to her maiden name in the divorce, she uses her married name to register our son for things. The kindergarten teacher, for example, had zero clue that we were divorced (partially because we do get along regarding our son, which I'm not complaining about) until I mentioned it during our parent-teacher meeting last fall.

Anyway, I quickly kiss girlfriend when she rolls up and then go back to helping coach my son and his teammates. Girlfriend, who has some social insecurities and is more introverted than redX in these situations anyway, notes to me that, "I'm getting a lot of looks from the moms." Girlfriend also immediately noted when I invited her that the only reason I was inviting her then was because redX wouldn't be in attendance (true, and entirely justified in my mind), which girlfriend bristled at. Girlfriend is extremely resentful that redX refuses to meet with her and thinks I don't do enough to fight for her. I've reminded her that while I can and do demand respect from redX, I can't change how she feels about her or force her to meet (nor would I want to - what am I going to do, provoke a confrontation at some event for my son, or just roll up to the house with girlfriend and knock on the door?).

So now I'm waiting for word to get back to redX that girlfriend was at the game (likely from my son, who seems oblivious to all of this, but possibly from another team mom) and being confronted by an outraged redX for making her look bad and exercising poor judgment, and for girlfriend being "in your face" once again, etc.

I feel old today. I decided to work from home just because I can. I was on my couch checking emails on my laptop and I looked to the side and felt a stabbing pain in my back and got an instant stiff neck. I couldn't move it at all

I have some massive knots in my back now and limited range of motion no matter which way I look. I'm getting a massage later, but seriously need to find a chiropractor at some point here.

I had a dream about a week ago that was essentially me writing the synopsis for a late 1970s/early 1980s TV show. One of those 1 hour dramas ABC used to put out. Something along the lines of Charlie's Angels or Eight is Enough.

The weird thing was that there were none of those goofy/surreal things that usually happen in dreams: "...but it wasn't my house it was a Pizza Hut!" or "Fassbender was Chinese!". It was very realistic and straight forward.

And everything was very thought-out and detailed. Too bad it was a terrible show.

Should have put an abortion at then end. :edgy:

Well, ####, Bill. :( On top of all the serious bull#### I've been dealing with my radio morning show is getting canceled because the station was sold and they are changing formats. I'll say this too. I've thought many times I could be an actor, it isn't all that different than what I do now. Hell, it might be easier? I get one shot to do it right. Anyhow, I was so freaking depressed and the last thing I felt like doing was a job fair. I guess it just comes natural to me but I can flip the switch and everything is gone, it's selling time.
