GM's thread about nothing (33 Viewers)

Flight to Chicago got canceled. Just landed in St Louis (hi Bob!), renting a car, picking up a case of beer and hoping to make it to Chicago by 2AM. :banned:

Really hoping the Rangers/Cubs game isn't rained out tomorrow. :oldunsure:

GlllGiven the amount of rain the forecast, I'd be surprised if they are able to play.

E10 kicked my ### in our first Words game. I didn't realize it was possible to be really good at using all 7 letters in one turn. Apparently it is, since she managed this feat three times in one game. Now I see a request for a rematch... and a 7 letter word is already played.
just wait til she drops OI or XQ on a triple word score
OI is a word. XQ is not.

Thanks for the suggestions. Wool sounds interesting and is free at Amazon right now. I'll probably check out the Jack Reacher stuff as that sounds right up my alley. Are the Bourne books any good? All of these should keep me busy for a while.
There are 5 or 7 parts to that Wool book. I think the Kindle versions are separate.
Yeah I noticed that, thanks. Is it part 1 of one book or are there 5-7 books? I got part 1 figuring I could buy more later if I wanted to. But either way I have a brazillion books at my disposal from Tre and Cos so I wanted to go through those options first.
I bought the paperback (old school baby) and it has parts 1 through 5. Part 1 is only like 40 pages.

Chicken update: Monday one of the girls had an upper respiratory infection

Tue - 14 others have an URI

Tue/wed - dose all of our previously organic chickens with antibiotics

Today - All looking much better; none are completely well, but none have died

I thought all I had to do was go down every morning and throw out some scratch and gather eggs.

I was sorely mistaken on the whole effort thing.
Try throwing a mattress on top of them. That seems to help.
:lmao:

With about 80 bazillion hours of flying time from Memphis, I should just plan to finish up Wires (still at the end of season one), right?

I miss GM. :(

Speaking of meaningless casual sex, on his last day of work, Mr. krista was regaled with stories from one of the dishwashers about his having sex with a pregnant woman he just met, using a condom he found on the ground.

My mind jumped back to high school (the 80's) and thought "If she was already pregnant why would he need a condom?"

What kind of shady ### chicken shop did you buy these things from? My grandparents and in-laws both had chickens for years using the "throw out some scratch and gather eggs" method. I'm pretty sure coyotes were the only things that ever killed them. Of course, neither of them owned a Tempurpedic.

I leave for Singapore tomorrow. On Friday I worked it out so that my trip for a one hour meeting becomes a 2-1/2 week business/vacation trip for which I get paid, and now my last day at work is May 10. Anyway, heading to Singapore and then a presumably weird trek of Bali, Philippines, Brunei (just for a day, but who gets to say they went to Brunei), and then the Mayalsian part of Borneo.
Singapore is the best people watching city on the planet. Langkawi is a great spot too if you can hit there.
It's my third trip to Singapore. Definitely great people-watching, but it's all about the food there for me. So good. :)
lucky. My exciting work trip is London and Edinburgh in a few weeks.
Did I ever tell you guys about the time I got to go to Cotulla, TX?
I'm going to Corpus in a couple weeks for an overnight trip. I feel better about it knowing that at least I don't have to go to Cotulla. That and I get to be on TV at 6 in the morning when the insomniacs and prisoners are watching.

i suppose we all should have seen this coming. shuke finally got memed.

congratulations, gb
Awesome
i think we're through the looking glass here
Speaking of which, shuke are we confirmed for 5/6 Reds game? Get tickets day of? Should I PM you for details?
I'm in. Guster said something about TRE also? I can pick up tix as soon as we have final #.
Flying back on the 6th, gb. So no reds. :(

corpus and cotulla are equally awful.

So I'm kinda bored while waiting for Game of Thrones episode 2 to legally spirit its way to my television. Don't feel like reading. Don't feel like playing video games. The wife is out for the night. What's an internet idiot with a serious case of ennui to do? Maybe I'll fire up my old FFT account and begin cut n pasting vile stories into random threads, just to see if they bother banning me. Anyone got a short cut to some snuff fiction or Fun on the Farm, the Novel?

Bueller? Frye? No? Ah, it was a sick idea anyway.

Hey now. Any cabana boy openings in Nicaragua?
Sadly my accelerated timeframe to go down to Nica means I'll have less money than expected. Cabana boy payments will be reduced. :(

By the way, hoped no one had read my "goodposting" to mean anything other than I would like to be fed brownies and such for dinner too! I did have a Pop-Tart tonight :oldunsure:

Shucks. In a moment of seriousness, JR told me this afternoon "Daddy, I love you and need you to promise that you'll be with me forever." And that was before brownies and ice cream. He's a good kid.

So awesome.

I've been trying to find a way to articulate this but the booze makes it hard. Basically between the boston bombing and now the Texas thing there is so much terrible #### in the world sometimes I don't know the point of it all. But what Bentley said and when I told my daughter I signed her up for soccer today and she gave me the biggest hug it reminds me of what is good and what matters. This is a drunk posting (with zero misspellings) and it's stupid and overly dramatic but I don't care where else am I going to put this?

Lightning is getting bad. Looks like some hardcore storms up ahead.

On the bright side they sell liquor until 1AM at gas stations here. Holy ####. I'm double fisting jack and coke and beer in the back seat, few more hours to go.

I am also drunk, but appreciate it. And understand the sentiment.

If he was going to be a really good daddy to you, he'd give you the whiskey.

Callahans

Bi=ut we had the originals, hens, the death march hens, then another 14 or so from Callahans. Its like when all the kids go to kindergarten and everyone get everyone else sick.

No fatalities.

I'm due for a quick jaunt to the coast so I can sacrifice a cell phone to the saltwater gods. Let me know if you want a travel buddy

Watched Oblivion-Tom Cruise's latest-over at thedarewall.com and if you like sci-fi action adventure turned

romance go see it. Interesting concept and the movies pretty good until the all too predictable ending. Too many

"put your brain on hold" moments to recommend seeing it full price. if your an avid movie goer and bored maybe

give it a shot.

I went to the gym, came home to relax, and realized just now that I drank half a bottle of vodka.
I'd say mission achieved.
