GM's thread about nothing (12 Viewers)

So...looks like I'm going to have about 8-10 hours in Austin on Wednesday. Any restaurants you recommend for lunch? I'm at the Westin.
At the Domain? Do you have a car? There are some good places at the Domain (jaspers, north) but you aren't really near anything Austiny.

Bag/box o crap auction? Bag or box depends on amount of final bid. Value of contents will approximate that of the winning bid. Shipping paid by me. Your winning bid to be PayPal'd to Colin's email address above. Requests will be honoured where reasonable ( e.g., no pr0n, please).
$50
One and done?
I didn't quite get the concept. Are YOU putting together this box of crap? So like if I bid $51 I'll get copious bottles of nice wine and locks of your wife's hair?
Yes. A bag/box o' crap from me. The higher the bid, the higher the worth of the crap I include. So you're bidding on the possibility that I have some crap that doesn't completely suck. But you're also bidding on shtick. And on Colin. And on the likelihood that it won't all be crap. I'm not Woot, but I'm not looking to rip anybody off here, either.

I'll try to personalize it as much as I can. So if IB wins, maybe I'll send a bunch of these to him. If you win, a bottle of Pinot Noir for the wife and maybe a "Moist for Albinos" thong. Also hopefully for the wife. If it's somebody I don't know as much about, I'll have to lean on the rest of you for notebooking, but that could be good shtick in its own right. $1 minimum increase in bids, so Sweet J leads at $55 right now.

I'm thinking of having one more beer but I should really save up for some raisins.
I'm having blood drawn to see what kind of damage I did on vacation. I mean getting absolutely hammered 11 straight days can't be too bad for you right?

I haven't had a drink since last Friday and the weather has been so gorgeous, beckoning me to drink beer. Still figure I should wait until Saturday before getting it drawn so it's a full week. :kicksrock:

GD Bob :lmao:

I had to "like" three other spare cake comments to avoid drawing too much attention to how much I liked yours. :lmao:

Hold the motherjumping phone... I just noticed something. IdiotBoxer has been giving me crap about liking "Sideways" yet he is an active poster (and obvious viewer) in the American Idol thread? Are you ####ing me?
I think he facebooks about it.Sideways could have used more singing.
Or just change the cast. Taylor Hicks as Jack. Rueben Stoddard as Miles. Kristie McPhee instead of Virginia Madsen. Paula Abdul instead of Sandra Oh.
I just looked up these names and have come to the conclusion that you know an awful lot about American Idol to be complaining about someone watching American Idol
WHY AM I ALWAYS DEPICTED AS COMPLAINING???!1/1/1/???F?UC?K?YOUALL????!11:? :hot:

 I guess it's the Domain. I get in Tuesday afternoon and have an event that night. Flight leaves the next day 5PM. No car.
Come stay here after your event and I'll entertain you Wed., then take you to the airport.

Coworker Vipal went to Indian and then Dubai in April for a few weeks. Brought me back almonds wrapped in big dates. Pretty good.Say, do you know what Arabian men do on Friday nights? They sit under palm trees and eat their dates. WOKKA WOKKKA WOKAA!!!!
Who do you like better: Vipal or Hock Meng Tay?

"The charges are coming from INSIDE THE HOUSE"
Pretty much.
#######it, Collins. You have no idea how much I am rooting for you.
Thanks big guy. I got home at 7 after a 12 hour day (7-5 at new job, 5-7 at my company) and dinner was ready. We've had a nice evening except for the lack of air conditioning and lack of lamps turned on. We talked some more tonight about some things and she is starting to understand why I am the way I am. Not that that excuses anything butbitbhelps her understand why I did what I did. Her mother has been talking to her all day as well and that helps. I have some money to put in the account tomorrow so she can get diapers and stuff which will help even more. We will get through it, I think.

I really appreciate the offer. My hotel room is paid for and I'll be with a co-worker during the day on wednesday. I was just seeing if there was anything around there worth trying. First time to Austin.
Albert oaks is at the top of the list.

Hot Damn. I really want a bag of goodies from Sacamano. And yes, I'll be making requests.

Edit: I don't know what amuses me more: the idea of getting random stuff in the mail, or the idea of explaining to my wife why I'm sending a check/paypal to a random person on the internet and knowing she won't really believe me.

The Domain's pretty hoity toity and far north and not really on my cosdar.

You could buzz down 183 to I35 and get some great Mexican at Amaya's or a block further south some good seafood at Captain Benny's

I worked from home today and the wife texted me at about 3:30 "Meat Raffle?" to which I of course replied "yes!" so we grabbed the kids and headed to the bar 3 blocks from our house for the meat raffle. We filled up on 1/2 price apps and happy hour beers/wine, won 2 giant fat ribeyes in the meat raffle, and pulled a $275 winner on pull-tabs with only $40 put in. It was a pretty good day.

Okay, but stop calling them "apps."

You should try to stop in, even if just for the food. Seriously.
