GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

I need to find out about a person who was convicted of murder, spent 10yrs in jail and was released because new evidence came to light showing that he was not guilty of the charge.

Google doesn't find anything, he may have been a minor when it happened.

The problem with Google is he has the exact same name as an ex MLB player with a very different name but is no relation at all.

Does anyone have any capability to search for me? Please PM if possible

Is it...Dicky Thon?

His name is like Jarrod Saltalamacchia or something. It's an odd/distinct name, but it's the same as a former MLB player to whom he is not related.

I can see where the confusion came from. He made it about as difficult to follow as was possible. But I'm pretty sure that's what he was saying.

No, and I really don't want to out him. Seems like a real nice kid, but I want to know what happened,

You been drinking, my friend?

If I understand what you're asking, I may be able to help.

update: got a text that said "I'll go."

texted back that I don't know what time she gets off work, and that it's an hour and a half from where I am to where she'll be, so I need to know what time to meet her.

she said she'll let me know when she gets off work. so I guess she's planning on waiting an hour and a half in a parking lot someplace. I'm sure she'll be in a great mood when I pick her up.

shoot me.
Head that direction and find a nearby bar?
Just read this at the bar.
:highfive:

To be honest (I'm not lying, k4), I think it's the 1998 mouse I use when I'm using my laptop at home. I just can't get used to the scrolly-pad thing. It frightens me, with its lack of control & all.

Sweet J - good luck, but I agree with those that wonder if you living in the basement is the best thing in the long run. My first wife and I - no kids, so feel free to disregard - did the living-in-the-same-house-but-apart thing. It worked financially for a while, but was a disaster once both of us decided we wanted to date other people. We made a Pact that neither of us would bring our lovers to the house. I broke the pact first, then all bets were off and things got pretty ugly even though we didn't want to be together anymore.

Abe, I dunno my friend. I've been the "drinking-husband-that-wife-gets-mad-at" guy (1st AND 2nd marriage :bag: ). My situation was much different than yours, besides the booze. I know, for myself, I've always justified a reason to drink. It has - in one form or another - cost me two marriages. The other actresses in the plays have their own responsibilities - whether they own up to it is on them (I think one has; the other is a sociopath).

I had a brilliant idea today for a website similar to gazelle.com where I buy a specific small personal electronic device for resale. The device isn't super widely-used today but I think its use will grow. eBay sales prices of it are about 66%-75% of new retail, there are there are new versions being released meaning people will be looking to upgrade and sell off. My thought is to offer somewhere around 25%-35% of retail for those looking to sell and then resell on eBay.

I checked godaddy and IBuyDevicename.com and IBuyDevicenames.com are both available... not sure about the legal implications of using the brand name in the website title though or if another name might be better. Also no clue about what it would cost to develop the website. Doesn't seem like it would take a huge upfront outlay and it could be a decent side endeavour.

Appreciate the thoughts of Abe and you other smart folks.

You know those public service announcements warning people to "turn around, don't drown"? Yeah, I ignored that, three times. Other guys were doing it....

Negotiated the first two without problems. The third one had this odd standing wave running along the direction of travel, in my lane. I decided I better straddle that, 'cuz you want your vehicle nice and square when driving through floodwater. That's what I told myself, anyway.

I heard noises under the car the rest of the way home, but there was a lot of gravel on the road from the flooding, so I kept going. When I got near home, I realized the noise was still there, and continuous. Yep, tore loose a pretty impressive hunk of plastic off the undercarriage, and dragged it for miles. I managed to unfold it back where it belonged, then cut up an old shoestring to tie it up in a couple of places. The fasteners are long gone, of course. Headed to Wal-Mart to round up some of those plastic ties, which should allow me to drive at highway speeds.

What a maroon.

Need the device. Why? Because logistics and shipping charges matter and gross total will affect your room for margin. Gazelle works because apple people will pay more - there is a reason they only buy apple stuff. So, spill it. No one is going to steal your idea.

Bentley. I am at the National Association of Hispanic real estate professionals on campus today. Are you here?

:nursing wicked hangover:
Nope. Other than going for a run at lunch (don't tell Otis) I was actually in the office doing regular office stuff all day. It kinda sucked.

Luckily I have two classes on customer service to teach next week along with a happy hour or two.

Should have a good crowd for the tailgate tomorrow. You should come by.

The back road on the way home to my old house used to flood a lot. I would just drive through it, big tough guy right? Then one time I saw the car in front of me start floating away. Never again.

I mentioned Cal lost his retainer yesterday at school. As Phil Harvey says, now for the rest of the story.

Cal told me what happened and I was pissed. Really pissed. In my mind though I was thinking "stupid kids. Killing me. This is all part of the deal though. Oh well."

I apparently wasn't showing that compassion visually though because Cal started trembling, then running upstairs yelling " MOM SAVE ME!!! DAD'S GOING TO KILL ME!!!".

That upset me more than anything. Looking mean isn't all it's vaged up to be.

I just deleted a what-could-be-construed-as-racist post from SLB's FB timeline. Hate our world these days.

Need a link to a gif or Youtube of an over the top slap your mama celebration. Have 15 minutes. JimTan don't let me down.

My dad is the nicest guy on the planet...doesn't mean he didn't scare the everloving #### out of my ### on more than one occasion. It's just being a good dad.

Papa D used "the look" to successfully raise six productive, successful children...and me.

Don't sweat it. If your boys aren't occasionally deathly afraid of you, you're doing it wrong.

If you ever thought that a bunch of Amazon people weren't sitting around a table in Seattle drinking whiskey and trying to launch a major transportation platform at 9 at night on a Friday in order to get you your packages next week, you'd be wrong.

Let me see Walmart pull this #### off

Currently sitting alone in the dark in a tailgate space set up for 40 people drinking beer with the radio cranked up. Man of action or pathetic drunk?
