GM's thread about nothing (31 Viewers)

Might have won this week if I didn't change the Vikings to the Lions. Didn't think I could catch Thorn with all chalk. Almost had 1st if the Lions held on to their lead. Stupid Vikings and Lions.

Good times in the North End, First time meeting Zooks and Fred, catching up with old pals Thorn and Gush. Really happy we were able to do this. Do y'all have plans yet for the LGBT Convention in July?

And (it sounds like for krista) sleep.
 I sleep about 3-4 hours per night. I guess I just don't have the hours that you geriatrics do as I don't need to go to bed at 9 p.m.? As for the beginning time of the games, I'm up and about, but I like to drink whilst watching football or tailgating. I don't really drink so much at 8 a.m.

the games start at 10. if you're so drunk you need to sleep that late, you're better off getting up and starting to drink again. pre-game shows are overrated.
I like settling in with pregame for about three hours. Gets me in the mood.

Can't wait for the awkwardness of trying to figure out whether to use board names or real names. I think I called Thorn by 3 or 4 different names on Friday
HUGE apologies to proninja. I asked him for a recommendation on a realtor, and he gave an awesome recommendation. I totally intended to ask him before meeting the realtor today to say "how we met", but I forgot and then was hit with the question and had to tell the truth. Sorry you and I look like huge dorks, GB.

I know this has been debated in here before, but this West Coast 10 a.m. football thing is BS. Freaking NFL Sunday Countdown starts at 8 a.m.! This is ridiculous.
there really isn't a debate. west coast is way better. sunday, monday and thursday night football end by 9.

what are you going to do before football? go to church?
Sleep?
Have you been hit in the face with a fish yet?
:lmao: :lmao: Just still cracks me up.

TF - have you tried different services? We didn't go for 15+ years until we went to the modern service at the local methodist church. Coffee and donuts, craft table for the kids, guitar music and a 15 minute p ositive message for a sermon. We actually enoy going now. Ended up becoming members and everything.
I'm totally breaking up with you.

Hey guys! Bentley's available!

Bfred is coming to this? Wow. I have a dream I want him to analyze. :oldunsure:

K4 as a reformed CST viewer, it takes time to adjust to PST football living. I won't have it any other way now.
I am still CST for life right now (and I have lived more than half my life on EST), but I'll try to stay optimistic. :/

Best.

Or send me lobster! :oldunsure:

Central is the best for football watching. I'm certain and have lived in the East and Pacific zones so I'm like an expert.

I do attend church often. The 11 am service gets out around 12:15, I'm home around 12:30. If I was EST, I would still have a half an hour to get my food and beer ready before kickoff. Instead, I'm like Homer at a HS cheerleading sleepover camp, all excited but no clear direction, bursting through the door flinging remotes, smartphones and laptops around to pull up all the games and sites I need. I'm yelling down the hall to my 2 daughters and wife asking someone to go to the basement fridge and grab a couple beers. I'm furiously reheating leftovers or preheating the oven for some kind of frozen pizza. It's complete chaos.

I guess it had to happen sometime. :kicksrock:

Yes, I lived in Eastern time for 24 years (pre-Atlanta) and Pacific for about a year (pre-Seattle) and just don't like either one. Maybe Mountain would be OK, too; don't know.

Hmmm. Maybe Denver is for you then.

I really like Denver, actually.

What I'm realizing in Seattle is something that has bothered me about Atlanta--lack of water. It's not like I love to swim, or waterski, or whatever, but I have always lived where there was a significant body of water, whether Atlantic/Pacific Oceans, or Lake Michigan, or in Memphis the Mississippi river. I feel weird in Atlanta without a body of water nearby, just like I understand people from Colorado, for instance, need mountains around them. Seattle is AWESOME in this regard.

We drove by just about 100 houses in two days (and "drive by" meant getting out and seeing what they were about) and narrowed that list to 22. Then we saw 19 of those today and three yesterday. From there we now have seven houses.

So ####### confusing to try to figure out what we really want, though. I know, SHOCKING. We said our biggest criterion was walkability, but here you can get such incredible views...I could be very willing to sacrifice walkability to look out and see an amazing vista from every room.

Maybe we should just buy all of them?

Packers should do the honorable thing and agree to play that game in SF.

"Frozen tundra", it's not tundra. Jerk-offs.
Yeah and the San Francisco Treat isn't a treat. Fartface
Nobody in San Francisco has eaten that shit in 20 years.

Worst part of PST is it being a PITA to get up for the lunchtime (their lunchtime) EPL game. Throwing my weight behind Barcelona was a wise move, as those Spanish ####ers don't get around to anything before 6 PM. I think I saw a game this year that started at like 10:30 PM local time.

I think K4 should just walk the earth and make money (other than the millions in the bank) by panhandling across our great country. She and OH can obviously stay at the local Wisteria

"Will work for wine"

"Legal help? I gots it"

"Will close $1MM+ deals for kitty litter"

OH:

"Need a nice cous cous? Will trade for money"

"Local 5 star restaurant don't know bout my ####"

My favorite for each of us. :lmao:

No worries. If it fits, wear it. Glad you like Chris.

I'm pretty Jay Cutler about the Bears loss. At least now I don't have to watch them be Little Miss Punchingbag for some team in the first round of the playoffs.

And :lmao: @ the Steeler fans thinking they got jobbed.

Followers of Jebu, serious question:

Why not just study at home? Like skip church, but just read the Bible yourselfs at home. Or Bible groups?

Also, how does one explain God kicking the shit out of everyone in the Old Testament to kids? Will answer yours.

If it makes God look bad: It's an analogy. But everything else is to be taken literally.

1. I can't speak for everyone, but I do all that stuff too.

2. Rather than type it in my own words, I'll just point you here, if you'd like a pretty standard Christian way to deal with that question - http://www.gotquestions.org/Old-Testament-violence.html

I did go to a different church this morning for my nephew's baby dedication, and it was absolutely horrible though. I was really happy I had to leave early for work. So I can see why you'd wonder.

Oy vey
He asked. Last thing I want this thread to turn into is bickering about religion, so let's just leave it there.
