GM's thread about nothing (20 Viewers)

I hear this in George Costanza's voice....

"I know less about women than......anybody else in the world. And even I know you do NOT mess around with absenteeism (sp?) around the birth of your child".
The kid is scheduled for 2/5 and the doc doubts she'll make it until then. The trip isn't until 2/13.

Do we have anybody here that is close enough to Redmond, WA to have a corn hole on Feb 13? I'm trying to decide how badly I want to go on this trip.

Pros: Never been to Washington, never been invited to a Microsoft thing, love to travel.

Cons: My 2nd kid is being born a week before.

They only let one person from each org go so its either me or my boss. But he went last year. And before anyone gives me #### about the kid being born, my wife will not be by herself as her very large family will probably move in for a couple weeks. A 2 day outing to Washington would probably be welcome relief.
Have you discussed it with your wife? What does she say?
She says to go, actually. Seriously.
I mean you know her better than me but that sounds like a horrifically bad idea.

Starting to come around to this line of thinking...I can't imagine that anything GOOD would come out of it that would outweigh all the BAD that could result.

Delivery dates are a prefect science, so you're in the clear. Also, ask her if it's okay to have sex with her sister since she seems to be in such a Jay Cutler mood about such things.

Enunciating: The C-Section is scheduled for 2/5. This isn't like YSR where the kid is staying up in there for a 10th or 11th month. 2/5 is D-Day, if we make it that long.

Okay, cancels nothing. You really think it's a good idea to leave her with a newborn AND a small child a week to two weeks after the birth? I guess if she's got family in town and it's a work trip it mitigates things, but not too long ago you were perpetually in the doghouse. Now is a good time to continue adding credits to your brownie point bank.

I have a good friend/little fraternity brother who worked for Dell for 10 years. He moved from Austin to Seattle/Kirkland because his biggest client was Microsoft. He spent a great deal of his time on that campus. Few things I learned: 1) Msft is incredibly cheap. 2) Not a whole hell of a lot of hot anywhere. 3) They will soul suck you for every last damn cent out of every deal you try to make with them. 4) Vipul is a more common first name on campus than Bill.

First leg of my trip home was delayed to the point I would miss my connection, but managed to get us on the flight from this morning that still hasn't left. Boarding in a couple minutes  :fingerscrossed:

I have to forgo a friend's vegas wedding for the birth of mine (although it's the friend's second wedding since 2007). Sometimes you have to make sacrifices.
Sorry to hear you have a stupid friend.
It's a female friend. She got divorced from a law school classmate who she fought with for their entire relationship. Then after marriage, he acted more single than before like going in on a shore house for the summer with his friends without talking to or including her etc. So they get divorced, and she goes back to a guy she dated in the past . . . and now they have a kid, so they are getting married.

Confused old couple just tried to board before the gate dude was ready. Just started walking through the door and down the jet way and the gate dude had to go chasing after them. I love people

Gotta give huge props to Uruk too... he had every intention of covertly buying us all a shot and having us do a shot vid. I was texting him updates of who was here, how to identify us, where we were, etc. But then he fell asleep and we were gone before he woke up :lmao:

Still get   in my book. You're good people GBUH
:bag:

Between what Mata did to me and being let down by the Ravens, I was worn the hell out. When I woke up and checked my texts, the group had already moved on.

With all of that family around she'll be able to move your stuff out in a few hours.

Oof. Nothing personal GB.

Mrs. SLB is making rye bread pizzas, aka Polish Mistakes, tomorrow. I can't wait. How GM doesn't love them is baffling. I even sent him all of the stuff to make them.
