GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

We are in flight, but the sky waitress said while we were still on the ground that ATL was closed and we were just going to take off and hope to get close or that the airport would reopen by the time we get there.

Neat day.

Or maybe I'll rent Silver Playbooks from a redtube or something. Scared of those, but maybe I can figure it out.
Definitely look for it on Redtube and report back.

Mornin, fellas.
I was thinking about your situation and decided that you have two choices and two choices only:

1. Move to Las Vegas, get a bar tending job, and do what you do best (drink, party, mix cocktails, chase skirts, etc.). In for a penny, in for a pound as i always say.

2. Don't remember the other choice as I was too busy being envious of the first option.
I love Vegas, but I hate the city of Las Vegas. I actually did #1 back in '99. Packed up my car and headed to Vegas...had a place to stay and some connections to get a bar gig. Ten days later I was heading back home. I just absolutely hated that city so bad I couldn't imagine living there.

But your sentiment is correct, just got the wrong location.
Yeah, I hate Vegas too. Not a chance in the world I could live there. Awful place.
If you mean to live, could not agree more. If you are saying anything other than that, you're dead to me.

My favorite town in the world.

I actually could probably live there. It wouldn't be too different from living in Bako if you're talking about the residential areas.

You have no idea. Snowmageddon '14. 4-hour gridlock to travel a mile. Kids having to spend the night at their schools. (Actually, actually true)

Sigh. Looks like the airport is open again for now. Most flights canceled but ours actually showing an early arrival right now. Guess we'll just go straight to MARTA and not even attempt the drive.

I got snowed into a school once. I was dating a teacher, went to help her with some stuff in her classroom, the snow got out of hand, yada yada we were VERY tired the next morning when we could finally get back on the road.

Newark airport is super. Anyone need some ###### Super Bowl gear? No squares for me.

ETA: They at selling long scarves like the kids wear in Harry Potter or old Dr. Who. :nerd:

Do you still want/need a machine for your golf thing? I now have a Small Form Factor Dell Optiplex I can send you. It has an 80GB hard drive and comes with a clean install of XP. It also has an optical drive. No idea on graphics specs and all that other ####, but this should work for your game thingy.

New Orleans would be my next suggestion. Aspen not far behind.
Actually, I could get Homer a job tending bar in Aspen. The problem there, though, is that not many people can afford to live in Aspen, so the depth of talent available to tend bar, wait tables, bus tables, etc is very small. Managers have a hard time avoiding the dregs of society just by attrition.

And you better have a hard on for snow.

Living there. Not a chance. I hate that place. Now would I go back and party with a good group? Sure. But I haven't been there since 2005 for a reason and that reason is that I'm not a very strong willed person. Vegas is not good for me.

Is that really the name of the public transportation there? MARTA? That's terrible.

So if Bay Area Rapid Transit = BART

and Dallas Area Rapid Transit = DART

what does Fresno do? :oldunsure:

Such boring here in Newark. :confirmed:
Newark bathrooms are the worst in the world. And it's NOT close. Go try and take a deuce when it's busy. Most of the men's room have THREE stalls for crapping. That's it. I'd say the contractors need to be horse whipped, but chances are the builders were, uh.....connected.

Yeah, Aspen is right out. Never even had a passing thought about moving there.

Not sure I would so quickly rule out Aspen. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano.

I'm just gonna pretend the last nine pages never happened and just pick up on this page.

Can anyone point me to (or author) a recap of the last two days?

They're not that stupid. And obviously they don't have a subway/rail system.

Their but system is FAX = Fresno Area Express

Ours is GET = Golden Empire Transit
