Just got back from taking daughter to eye doctor. After a couple years of patching and she's still exhibiting exotropia, doctor is recommending surgery. I think we are going to get a second opinion from doctor at main campus of Children's. The only reason we stopped seeing her is because she went on medical leave about a year ago but is back now I guess.
My oldest had eye surgery when she was 3.5 to correct her lazy eye, we tried the patching route first but it didn't help any. One day of downtime for her and since then her vision tests have been perfect. Second daughter has a slighly lazy eye that the doc is trying to fix with glasses (guess it is a different type then the older one had). Not sure if it is working since we have gone through 3 pairs of glasses in a few months since she keeps breaking them.

Damn. Good luck Shukette.

I have a friend that runs a pool that went 280 deep last year and will likely get bigger this year. Happy to forward the email if you're interested. Pays 8 places, $10 a bracket, you can do up to 3.

I have another friend of a friend that runs a massive one, but I don't know if I can add internet strangers - will check. Top prize for that one last year was $6044 and they give away ipads and stuff for random things like a mid pack finish. It had 1344 entries last year.

Miraflex are indestructable. Sometimes I think my son would fit in better on tour with the WWE than in a classroom and his glasses haven't broken yet

Yes for the first one. is Paypal an option?

NM, just read further. :bag:

All is well with BabyYSR 2.0. He's a little on the small side, but within normal ranges. I apparently just grow 'em small (Charlotte was 6.0 pounds at birth).

The doctor did tell me to try to get more protein in my diet since I'm losing weight instead of gaining, so I am about to make love to an Alton Brown method cooked ribeye and some asparagus.

And then I'm going to watch Mud (my latest Netflix) unless someone tells me not to do so.

Thanks for the juju, fellas.

How many bracket pools is too many?

I'M SURE THERE'S A QUIZ BOWL TOURNAMENT SOMEWHERE IN TUALARE YOU CAN ENTER THIS MONTH!
I was on Quiz Bowl :bag: I remember having to tell my football coach I had to miss practice for Quiz Bowl tryouts. If I was half as good at football as I was at Quiz Bowl he might have cared

Edit: I actually made them go to the tape once because some math nerd gave an answer in radians instead of degrees and I claimed he didn't specify the system (we lost the challenge)

I was also outed by a friends little sister who saw me in a match on public access...totally ruined my street cred

...and that will bring up Garcia-Vega. Porfillio is batting .224 this month against right-handers with runners with beards in scoring position. Feltersnatch looks back Vitalis on third...from the stretch...low and outside for ball one. The Buckos travel to Des Moines tomorrow to catch Foghat at the State Fair and then they have 17 road games in 6 days against St. Louis, Milwaukee, Mobile, and, oddly enough, themselves. Check-swing foul for strike one. Remember fans: Tuesday the 26th is 'Ticket Stub Night'. The first 5000 fans through the gates get to keep half of their ticket. Fun for the whole family.
:lmao: :lmao:

I wore a green tie today by accident, #######it. I'm not even Irish. I hate this ####### day.
I wore all black today. If dressing up like a Guinness isn't good enough for the Irish, #### 'em.
A year ago I would have made sure not to wear green today, red on Valentine's Day etc. I haven't been a whore for business in a long time so I made sure to wear a green tie today. Can't be too campy enough. :bag: * a million

ETA

I am proud of my dirty Irish/Scottish blood though. A lot of people endured a lot ####ty things for me to enjoy life as much as I do. Wait...

I haven't watched a single minute of college hoops this year. :kicksrock:

I'm a bad person.
Maybe 20 or so here. Isn't going to stop me from gambling though.

Which BTW, we have our annual draft tomorrow night. The higher the seed with a win gets more points. I understand Louisville & Mich State are both 4's and good picks? I'll hang up an listen.

:excited: It's back!

I'm also SHOCKED K4 doesn't have a CPA.
My Dad was a CPA, so that probably influenced my feeling that I can and should do this myself.
Oh it isn't that I didn't think you were capable, I just figured you wouldn't want to screw with it. I used to do it myself with Turbo Tax but I always felt like I was missing deductions or somethings. If your Dad was a CPA, with you lawyer skillz and all too, I'm sure you don't feel this way.

Personally I like not having to do it and I really like having an extra layer of accountability in there.

I just figured it was kind of like how almost everybody in my neighborhood has a lawn service. Except me of course. I like to do it plus I'm kind of cheap when it comes to stuff like that.
I just hired a lawn service for the first time today. Guy comes Thursday. Angrywife was afraid to talk to me about it because she was afraid that my manhood would be threatened.

You don't mow another man"s lawn.

Unless you are Mrs. SLB and I've broken my neck.

I'm having an inch of compost put down on a section of my backyard as soon as it gets dry enough and I'm pretty excited about it. :bag: It's just cheaper to have a nursery do it.

Louisville have the 2nd shortest future price, behind UF.

The tricky part for them is that their region is pretty tough. A Sweet 16 matchup with Wichita St. would be pretty daunting. I have them through to the F4, but not to the title game, as a hedge against their tough region.

I think people are on Mich. St. because of their name value/history, but UVA are the real deal IMO. I have them getting through and then going out to Florida.

KenPom and 538.com (ESPN has a link) are pretty good resources for :nerd: probabilities and such.

I already have all the stuff so I figure I might as well do it myself. There are definitely days, particularly when it's scorching hot out, that I get jealous.

I'm in similar pools that award upset picks. I was all over MSU and L'ville until I saw that about every ESPN talking head took both of them.

Just got back from taking daughter to eye doctor. After a couple years of patching and she's still exhibiting exotropia, doctor is recommending surgery. one of the boys has this as well. Was the eye being patched getting stronger with each visit? Last visit we were told to patch longer (1.5 hours/day). He goes back in a few weeks.
I recall. We have been off and on patching for almost 3 years now. There is some improvement during times of patching, but when we stop she regresses. So in this doctor's opinion, it is time for surgery before her brain becomes too accustomed, as I guess it will be harder to correct as she gets older. She doesn't have vision problems, but she has stereo-something problems, she can't pick out 3D objects.
So like depth perception problems or like "can't see those stupid magic pictures at the mall" problem?
Kind of the latter. It was something she looked at with some polarized glasses on.

i would love to talk to you about this. my daughter suffers from the opposite, strabismus, or esotropia. we have patched for years. not as consistently as we should have, but it is getting better. how old is your daughter? mine is 7

and we can go pm's or by phone if you want to avoid kidseyechat here
I get 37 PM's a day, we can do it here unless you don't want to. My daughter also has strabismus. Exotropia and esotropia are both forms of it.

When did the patching start? Have you gone stretches without patching and seen regression?

Kinda cool to think that her world looks 2D like South Park.

As a Michigan Dan I hate to say it but Spartans look good. They have 2 first round picks in Harris and Payne...the talent has always been there but they have been banged up and possibly lacking motivation

I think they make final 4 easily and have a great chance to win
