Decided to fire up the smoker yesterday. Put 4 chickens on. I told my wife I wasn't pressuring her, but it would be nice to have people over, but I wanted her to try to be up for it. Ended up having some of our neighbors over for the evening, which was nice. I really need to upgrade my smoker. What a high maintenance piece of ####.

Tomorrow morning is my daughter's eye surgery. I'm not that nervous, just worried about her throwing a tantrum about not being able to eat/drink in the morning.

Tried to get my son out and help him ride his bike today. He's 9 and doesn't know how. What a horrible experience. He kept complaining that he didn't want to get hurt, and then was worried about being embarrassed about other kids seeing him try. Was in full-out tears at a few points but I kept making him get back on and trying. I really felt bad afterwards, but I feel like he's never going to want to do it. Maybe I need to take him somewhere else to try.
Hope everything went well shuke

shuke,

Hope your daughter does alright with the surgery. That kind of crap terrifies me.

Re: your son, it seems like a no-brainer to NOT make him do it in front of people. Why not take him to a parking lot on a Sunday for some place that is closed? There has to be somewhere else you can do it, otherwise you may only be making things worse.

Hope the Mrs. is doing alright.

He thinks Sandy Hook was a hoax. Vocalized it on Twitter. I have nothing nice to say about that young man. Immensely talented. Blessed with unbelievable gifts. But he is a bad bad guy.
i think you mean to say he's going to be a great Packers player and will destroy the Bears twice a year for a decade

also, the Packers don't draft bad guys. it's true.

Same for you little girl - that would terrify me.

On the bike riding, I just taught my 10 yr old girl to ride. She was afraid before and didn't have an ideal place to practice. I had her just balancing and coasting down a very slight incline. We started that way and moved to pedaling just a bit, then turning. After 3 years of almost no progress - she went from that to riding pretty well in 3 30 minute or so sessions.

You know what sucks? When you're asleep and a crazed drunk chick starts kicking you and yelling at you in the middle of the night with two little kids present. And then while you're looking for your shoes she punches you in the face and splits your lip, then scratches the side of your face til blood is running all over the place. Then she finds your shoes and throws them over a balcony railing, all while yelling at you and your kid.

The best part is when campground security calls 911 and you get arrested for domestic violence because she lies to the police and says you started it and that she was just peacefully sleeping so then you go to jail not knowing where your daughter is and have to explain it to your ex wife on a collect call.

Then you get to sleep on a floor with 30 dirty hippies who got busted selling hallucinogenics at the Sasquatch festival, while hoping the Sheriff can find a judge willing to release you on a holiday.

Then you have to drive an hour back to the campground to get your stuff, leaving you with Memorial Day traffic that takes 7 1/2 hours to get through, so you can go to bed, get 4 hours of sleep and get back for a 9 am arraignment that really isn't set until 1:30.

So for a mere $3,500, you can retain an attorney who will interview the six witnesses the police didn't take statements from, all of whom (including a police detective) will testify that her statement is false and that she got drunk after you went to bed.

Then you can hope to get the stupid thing dismissed so you don't lose your law license.
Sucks man, good luck.

He's a knucklehead, but he might mature.

Remember, we're the original Finley bumpers. :lmao:

I was asked to play in a golf tournament Friday some time ago by a GB. Today I found out one of the guys in our foursome is a former co-worker that hates my Dad who was his big boss some years ago. I also found out it's for the Stl Major Case squad. At least I popped something in my left hip today since I've been favoring it with my right achilles all jacked up. I'm waddling around like a freaking penquin. Goodnight I'm a mess. :bag:

Is it possible to sue these people? Punitive damages?

How about I break down the UD part of UDFA for ya?

GTFTS is getting old. At what age does this get better?
My 17 yr. old is still a problem. He has to get up in the morning and doesn't want to go to bed at a reasonable hour - like at least 1:30-2am.
Sounds like my 15 y.o. In the run up to WC qualifying, caught him in the middle of the night watching a stream of the Confederation of Africa game. "Dad, you don't get it, nobody gave this team a shot."

BTW, I got three (3) recorded messages today from the h.s. - to my cell, home and office VMs:

"About that your student BL Jr was marked absent in one or more classes today please call me please line if you want to excuse this absence or call the attendance office if you have questions about that your student BL Jr was marked absent in one or more classes today please call me please line if you want to excuse this absence or call the attendance office if you have questions about that your student BL Jr was marked absent in one or more classes today please call me please line if you want to excuse this absence or call the attendance office if you have questions about this."

Text to Ex-wife: "Hey peaches, did you spend an extra day up North? Was this excused?"

Reply: got the same message; he was 20 minutes late today.

SRSLY? Defcon 4 over one tardy? Whadda they do if he actually cuts a class?

FTR, I skipped a lot if classes back in the 70s.

Today's fukc cancer update

My sister just posted this about her daughter - many of you generously donated to a benefit for her a couple of years back, and I haven't provided a lot of updates since.

It is with a hevay heart and great sadness that I have to write this today. Over the last couple of months Brian, Lisa and I along with Cathy's doctor have had numerous discussions about if/when to stop Cathy's treatments. During this time we also read her living will and it was very clear she would not want to live this way. Still we were just not ready to let her go. In the past few weeks her quality of life has been declining and continues to do so. Which means the toll it is taking on Brian and the girls is increasing. This past week Brian, Lisa and I decided it was time. Time to stop the treatments. Time to let Cathy go. Even the doctor has no idea with stopping the treatments what comes next or how long we will have her so the future is very unclear. Hospice will be taking over now with her medical needs to keep her comfortable and anything else she needs. Will keep you posted as things change.

If you are having family get togethers this holiday weekend treasure every person there and let them know how special they are in your life because you just never know when it may be the last time you get this chance.
Awful. Sorry man.
Damn. F-ing brutal.

Ex is texting my friends telling them I didn't touch her and she feels bad that I got arrested. It will make nice evidence.

Pretty sure the answer to this question is ball cancer, but I'll ask anyways

For the past two nights, I've been extremely itchy over my entire body. Nuts, legs, scalp, back, nose, ###, stomach...everything.

During the day, it hasn't been so bad, but every night when I get ready to go to bed, I'm itchy all over.

GMTAN, MD - diaganosis?
