Got in a pissing match with the President of a 4 billion dollar company today. Unfortunately, I don't think I won Time for a training montage

How did this happen?

Power struggle. Market conditions change. They're making a play for upper hand and caught us (me) by surprise. Round 2 is in 2 weeks in another city, the day before I leave for vacation.

I'm interested in this topic. Would love further details via PM if necessary. We're only a billion dollar company, but we were just talking in a strategy meeting today about how big one of our business partners would have to be before we had to worry about a power play and how we would deal with it. Our current estimate is that we worry when someone influences 10% of our business or more.

We should chat. The dynamics of our struggles with a company whose name starts with U are legendary. This was a pale comparison to that but similar.

Opinions on the new Jack White album?

I like it but like the Black Keys I feel I'm listening to variations on a theme.

I like jack white, but I feel like he's the Tarantino of rock music. He takes other peoples stuff and blends it to make it his almost to the point of satire.

You can choose to take the "This is a crowd pleaser", the "I'm going to turn you onto something new", or the "I'm going to torture you" route. Doesn't matter.

This is sort of like my theory about how I've never had too much to drink. I'm always just as drunk as I planned to be. It's just that I'm way drunker about it sometimes than others.
