Had my first crawfish today.
Boiled? In Wisconsin? Only reason I ask bc it's getting towards the end of the season and the shells are getting hard. We cooked them today, and I had to cook them longer and soak them for about twice as long as normal. They were still good , just had to improvise.
Minnesota. Chinese restaurant. I'm guessing pretty much the worst way to try them possible.

:lmao:

There was a place in Memphis that had catfish and smoothies. Think it was called something like "Catfish and Smoothies". A couple of my employees swore that both the catfish and the smoothies were great and tried to get me to go there, but I could never get over the thought of that combination. :X

ANNOUNCE:

I finally heard that song Happy.

It's not that bad.
You've heard it well before today. And it's a pretty good song.
Nope. We've been over this here (HJS brought it up, I think). I only heard it this weekend because I was in a spot where there was only one radio station. Took a little bit of listening and then realized that must be what it was. Surprisingly decent, though.

I heard it hundreds of times watching Despicable Me 2 with the boys before I realized it was a radio song.

Right, I have the feeling that people with kids have probably heard it well before other adults have.

It's just one of the many "unique" joys that parents get to have. Like no concept of sleeping in, eating most of your meals out of styrofoam, the inability to keep even a little part of the house clean....

So, anyhow, what's up? Feel like we haven't talked in a while.

Thinking of applying for a "real" job again. Just happened to see one listed today (it was put up about a week ago) that would be perfect for me, if I wanted to go back into that life. I don't know. :(

Actually the bold sounds a lot my life anyway. Doing something wrong...

Just getting caught up and am sorry to hear about Albert Oaks but very much think it's the best thing for cosfamily. Need to have a going away party there, though.

What's new with you? Seeing lots of great family pics from you on FB. :)

First of all, I obviously recently discovered Instagram. And the whole family is getting rabies shots. I'm going to be on the board of the United Way for Greater Austin starting next month. Probably going to be a part of the Leadership Austin class of 2015. Professionally dating a friend of my wife. Looking to buy a new house (only one) in the very near future. Been on TV in both Amarillo AND Victoria in the last two weeks. I've had a lot of rum to drink tonight.

Actually, actually true.

And you should look long and hard at this "real job" thing because you're going to be insane about it if you go back to that world.

Where are these fantastical places you speak of?
They're no Bako, but I'm pretty sure they have both Olive Garden AND Red Lobster. American Airlines ####ed up our trip bad enough last week that we ended up eating at DFW Airport. The place we had dinner in Victoria was actually decent. PR chick was on both trips so everything was fine.

All cool. Except the professionally dating part. ;)

Congrats on the rest. As usual, it seems everything's coming up bentley.

Edit: Sorry, not congrats on the rabies shots. That sounds awful.

I tell you what. Kids ####### suck. They eat, but only what they want to eat and when they want to eat it. They poop and pee all over the place. They puke. There's snot and drool and all sorts of awful things that come out of their body. They say #### you and wake up at 2am when you have a conference call at 7am. (Hi Otis)

But when my son was at the top of the stairs calling "Daddy! Daddy!" for me to give him a hug and (snot-filled) kiss goodnight....well it's all worth it.

I want to make fun of you but really it's pretty much right on. Today was basically a miserable cluster with sickness and kids being ####ty and just a mess but then my daughter went to her tee ball game and after hitting the ball while running to first she turned to look at me with a huge smile on her face and it pretty much completely wipes out all the bad stuff from earlier.

I know this question could be answered better in the online dating thread, but what's a normal number of texts with someone before you go out on a first date...to be clear, I'm not talking about getting to making the date. I'm talking about between that and the date itself.

I'll hang up and listen

You can still make fun of me. Your mom called and said it was ok.

You cheat on your wife yet?

Shipped my daughter off to my moms yesterday. Got my best nights sleep in months and am looking forward to another beautiful nights sleep tonight! Looking forward to the sexy time with lady raiders in the morning and then we'll take the train up to LA and indulge in a fantastic lunch by ourselves and then dinner with the whole family and then a train ride home. Slap it high?

P.s. I've worked the last 12 days straight. :banned: I deserve a day off!!

Apologies in advance for actual football-related content, but:

FBG e-mail update over the weekend referred to Daryl Richardson as a "poor man's version of Chris Johnson". Isn't Chris Johnson the poor man's Chris Johnson these days?

This is about what I was thinking.
This is after the date logistics are confirmed, but before meeting up, right? Online-based date? Because if you already know her in real life, fewer texts might be needed.
Correct. Meet had to be moved one week due to scheduling issue, so I'd assume the high side of normal
Yeah, you're fine in the 7-10 range. I usually only say this sarcastically - - but I met my SO online, she's a keeper, and thus this interests me - - so let us know how this turns out.

Bingo. I read the same thing and was like, whaaaa? I assume "Joe" (or whoever actually writes the stuff) had some advanced tech and was reaching out to us from 2009. Or maybe Richardson is really poverty-stricken.

Starting to think PR must stand for "plows regularly"

I'm not in that range or anything close to it. I just wanted to confirm what would be normal.

IMO it's like asking how long a conversation should go on. If there's a good back and forth, what's the difference. If she's already annoying you, it could be a problem.

Not annoying, but never had anyone do this before. My crazychick sense isn't tingling, but hard to trust that, given that it's me.

We're at about 120.

Huge, but common, online dating misstep. The longer communications goes on before meeting, the less likely the meeting will go well. It may seem like you are hitting it off, but you are each hitting it off with your conception of what the other person is like. In doing so, you are probably creating an ideal that the other won't be able to live up to.
