GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

GM did you play Arcadia yet? :jealous:
Thursday. Went to the range today in Lake Orion. Feeling pretty good about the swing. If I can just stay sober....Pretty psyched to stay out there overnight too. Dudes only.
Nice. I had a partner at PwC who had a membership at Indianwood (near Lake Orion), played there 15 years ago. Such a great area to kick back.

Never played Arcadia, it opened the year I moved here, but looks spectacular.

It's been well established that I'm not a phone talker, but the new girl (still need a nickname for her), knows the right balance of phone talkin' to textin' in order to sort out plans.

I'm restless.

Decided to sell my Flex if anyone's interested, I'm going to just wholesale it. 2011 Limited, 65k miles. Should fetch 20 at the auction. It's been a great car, but I'm wanting something with lower miles.

Anyone driven the Chrysler 300? Sure does get great reviews. The impala ss I drove in the valley last month was way way better than I expected, but it was a 2014 and I like to buy cars a year or two old and their 2013s suck. Also looking at a 12 or 13 Acura tdi our maybe even a 10 or 11 Mercedes 340 diesel. The mb is about 5k more than the others and not sure I want to go that high.

Any comments on those cars or others I should consider? I want something I enjoy driving, but is still good for hauling around a couple of 90 year old cosparents
I've driven 300s as rentals. Given those are base models but I was not impressed.

The Kia K900 might be worth a look

ETA - Saw you prefer used so the K900 is out. Used Caddy CTS if the ATS is too small for your needs?

What Drifter said. Use texting to set up the date, not to get to know each other. Also, 120 texts with someone you haven't met should be setting off the crazy alarm. Are they split about 50/50 or is she doing most of the texting?
Close to even. It was a pretty normal pace, but then we had to reschedule a week out and it's picked up. I'd say it's like 6 from her and 4 from me each day. So that's 100 over 10 days.
Oh.

Yeah, that's too many. Way too many. Flee.

Back when I was on the meet/meat market a few years back I used to use a first phone conversation as an evaluation of whether or not the gal and I were compatible. That way, you don't waste a lot of time with an awkward dinner/drink/coffee, etc. Texts don't work as well for that purpose. Actually, they don't work at all. YMMV

Honestly, unless Iran-Nigeria was 15-8 or they gave each player a weapon, no one* was going to be excited about that game.

*unless you are a degenerate gambler who wagered on that foolishness.
The attractive 22 year old ladies at my gym who are of iranian heritage disagree

Doesn't seem that extreme. I have girls I'm not even married to that I exchange a hundred texts a week with.

My kid doesn't seem to get that while she can nap during the day to make up for lost sleep, I can't.

This is fun.

We had a 2011 300 as an office pool car and it really rode nice and had very good fuel economy for a larger car. We only put about 20k miles on it but never had any issues. Sold it due to under-utilization.

Fellow drunkards, next weekend I will once again be riding in the MS bike ride to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research. I have a cousin who was diagnosed with MS the day after her wedding. If Jim Tanners help me get over $500 I will do a shot video, possibly while riding during the event, as a thank you.

Here is the link to donate.

Thanks.

Joe B working the coy "I'm interested in the nuances of soccer, but why does it suck so much?" angle.
"I am intrigued by this idiotic thing that you jerk-offs are watching. Tell me more about it."
"I just want to learn. I mean, it's stupid and I can't stand it, but is there a 'Soccer for Dummies' book I can read?"
"So that one guy that rolled around like he had been shot was supposed to be some kind of stud player? Just trying to learn here, fellas."

Went to bed early last night. Had fun times with the wife. Slept for 9 hours uninterrupted. Woke up, had some more fun times with the wife.

That was all great until I realized that in not too many months it's never going to happen again.
