GM's thread about nothing (22 Viewers)

Saw my kid bleed for the first time today. Kid did a faceplant right as we're walking out the door to take my wife to her friend's house before Vegas tomorrow morning. Bit through his lip and ripped his frenulum (flap of skin that connects your upper lip with your gums) Wife is freaking out, kid is freaking out, blood everywhere. He good to go now. After the initial shock he took it like a champ. He just has a fat lip I gotta watch for the next 2 days or so.

But almost 22 months is a helluva run without major faceplants and other general toddler dumbassery.

Thanks. I'm kinda biased but he pretty much kicks ###. He's gonna break some hearts

Ouch!

Good luck to Mini-Stryker

also stabbed myself with a fork trying to make a baked potato the other night. :bag:
:lmao:

What is a fork used for in the "making" of a baked potato?
Poking holes?
Which does what?
Makes the potato bake better.
Bull####.
yawn
Not buying it. I learned you were supposed to poke, but I haven't done it for years. Urban legend.
So you know exactly what it's for, you're just being a ####.
Pretty much.

Oh come on.
I know that people think it's supposed to be done. But I don't think most people could explain why, and whatever the reason, I don't believe it.

Here

Bentley, Kev, COlin (and Shuke if your'e in town).

Binky's staying here this week and we should all get together..

Dinner here (I got a box of Crab Legs or a NY Strip)

Dinner out

Lunch out

Drinks out

Meet for UFC fights at Twin Peaks (Sat night)

Makes no difference for us, what works for you guys? This guy can drink and I need some help preserving my liver remnants.
Will be there next week.

One bad pass? Okay. And Tony Romo is a great QB. Not like I compared him to JP Lossman or something. Why don't you jump on other guys who are critical of him?
when you made your initial comment, he had like a 92% completion percentage or something and you said he was turning the ball over like Tony Romo, no?

I'm over it. He needs to be better, but it's silly to make him the scapegoat.
From where I sit, his turnovers seem to come at critical junctures where opportunities are lost. I think he's made more than one or two this tournament and I'm not the only one who has been critical. But I don't see you challenging anybody else who is critical of his game. Bah, goal. Neat.
I only took issue with you on the Romo comment. He's getting blasted by lots of people, some deserved some not.

my apologies if I overreacted. I'm a fan.
Of course you are. He looks exactly like you.

### ####it. We have to schedule a c-section.
I would have preferred a c-section over the horrifying delivery my wife went through with my son. Everything will be fine.
I mentioned it before that both mine were C-sections, but there's nothing to worry about. C-sections are nice and easy. Then while your wife recovers from all the dope you get like 1-2 hours to give your kid a bath and bond with him/her and stuff. It's pretty nice.

See this is what happens when you people shun chain restaurants. Pizookies have been on the menu at places like BJ's for years. Pretty outstanding IMO.
Looks like a cookie cake with ice cream. Not a pizza.
Honestly I didn't really look at what it was. Just the combination of pizza and cookie made me  . Sorry for disappointment.

And yes, I know I'm setting myself up with this question, but what the hell is a BJ's?

(Said every wife ever, or whatever your joke might be.)

Downer post:

A friend from Chicago had a long post on her blog a couple hours ago that was very suicidal. Now I've been PMing with her on Facebook to try to support her. Seems to be helping, but it's a scary situation.

Not even a close friend (she ran in the same group of musicians), but I figured being on PDT I might be seeing it when others didn't and that she needed someone (she said that deep down she had hoped someone would reach out). Guess I'll thank PDT that I can help, I hope.

Any advice appreciated.
Keep her focused on how positive the future could be. Help paint that pictures.

Also, you're a musician?

Decent food (gigantic portions), not too shabby selection of their own beer, lots of TVs. Not worth going out of your way for but good place to watch a game.

Who said it was a pizza?
I assumed that's what the Piz in the name represented. A combination of pizza and cookie. No?Why not call it Big Cookie with ice cream if that's all it is?

I remember how pissed off I was that this wasn't a bunch of paper covered in cheese and toppings.

It was a long time before I realized that "pizookie" was a hybrid term for pizza-cookie. The zoooo-kie part was too distracting to actually sit down and think through the semantics. Plus, it really has little to do with pizza, besides the fact that it was conceived by the BJ's Chicago Pizza and Brewery chain, which has locations all over the West Coast and Southwest, as well as Texas, Florida, and a few Midwestern states.

Thanks, GB. I emphasized her kid, not in a "he can't live without you" way but in a "look at what you've done in raising this amazing child so you really have accomplished a lot in life" way. That seemed to help. I'll keep in mind the emphasis on the future for later conversations.

:lmao: and a Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell really isn't a pizza either.

I get it that it's from a pizza chain and cooked in a pizza pan I guess. Just thought it was way better after seeing Krista excited enough to share the link. Then I read it and thought, "cookie with ice cream? Doesn't really need a stupid name."

No way I'd even want to acknowledge the stupid name by uttering it in an order.

Came up because I found out someone I'm working with went to U of Washington and he recommended going to The Ram in U Village for burgers and the pizzookie. Then I googled. So sue me.
