GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Serious question alert:

GF just called me telling me she got a call from her dr after her yearly gyno visit.

Her Dr. wants her to come in for a biopsy because of squamous cells?

She's worried sick and I'm not sure what any of this means...

Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Thanks, but has anyone known someone that has had this happen after a gyno visit? Is it relatively routine?
I don't know that I'd have posted a lmgtfy link despite being one of the resident A holes around here, but the point is:

1) we aren't medical guys so you won't get anything more than anecdotal info from us;

2) we are (for the most part) guys, so even anecdotal evidence will be tough to come by; and

3) I'm figuring that, unfortunately, it's never good news to get this sort of phone call though I hope as you do that it's just the doc being diligent and it ends up being nothing.

I always come to GMTAN with serious OB/GYN medical questions. Who needs that whole Google thing.
I don't even go to the OB/GYN any more. All the answers I need are right here.
makes sense.

this really should be a one-stop shop. People can get all their medical questions answered, get some prescriptions filled, and maybe get some family counseling at the same time.

Could save us all a lot of wasted time and money.

hope it's a false alarm, bucky. just seems like a weird group to come to for advice.
I've seen random medical questions asked here before. Many times someone has dealt with, or knows someone that has dealt with whatever it is.

Figured I'd give it a shot. I guess now I know that's not the case.

I've had basal cell carcinoma twice. Like squamous, it is a pretty simple biopsy, excise and move on.

None of this was after an OB/GYN appointment, however one was after I ate some FroYo.

My GB was telling me about a friend of his that died last week. He was at a bar with a couple of other buddies and got really drunk on a Friday night. Somehow he lost the key to his house, apparently he dropped it on the floor of his truck. He was single and lived alone so he decided to climb through the back window of his house, something he has done before. My GB said he was a big guy and when he was trying to climb in the house, got stuck. They found him still wedged in there Monday morning when he failed to show up to work. What a way to go. Sheesh.
Wow. I don't even know what to say to that.

Jesus.
Yeah, again, friend of a friend. I didn't know the guy at all.
Like you weren't responsible somehow.
If there were only some way to keep all of one's keys together in a orderly fashion.
And Frosty had the nerve to complain when I included all of those keychains in his secret santa box. I probably saved his life.
You're a hero but you already knew that.

Not really but hope for the best. Probably stay off google.

Sorry for being a ####, but getting the most anecdotal of all possible information from a group of internet dorks seems like the worst possible research criteria for something like this. GLLLL

:lmao:

Me too. I just squeeze my own balls and cough now. TA DA! Totally fine.
cup or cradle, not squeezeHTH
Great, now you guys tell me. No wonder I've been getting headaches.
That's your testiclees pressing up against the base of your spine. Consider wearing slightly larger underwear.

my brother is an ob/gyn specializing in high risk patients, so normally I could have just texted him. but he's on vacation in Bali.

So I got some additional info on the other coaches kid removing himself from the game. Apparently he was about to score a goal when someone from his own team swooped in, stole the ball and scored. That caused the meltdown and exit because he couldn't even beat his own team. Also the other team scored two own goals because they couldn't remember which end they were kicking at even though we kept the same ends for the whole game.

We had one kid on the opposition team streak about 2/3 down the length of the field on a breakaway before people could get it through to him that he was going the wrong way. Our kids who had been trying to tackle him initially were finally bemused by the whole thing as he broke through and had nobody between him and the (his own) goal before the realization set in.

Which future ex-wife is he with on this trip?
think he's trying to find one.
Good place to go for one. When Mr. krista and I were there it was just crawling with 30- and 40-something women looking for love due to that stupid Eat Pray Love book and movie. Every time he would end up walking too far ahead of or behind me, I yelled out "Don't EPL me!" because I figured it made me look like I was there alone on the same mission.

I got the following email marketing an airport parking reservation website I've used before...

Can On-Airport Parking Kill?

Last week a 55 year old man was found dead at a Chicago O'Hare parking lot. He was found lying on the ground unresponsive at around 7:15 am.

The Chicago police did not find any signs of a homicide and an autopsy is to follow.

There could be many reasons for the cause of this man's death, but based on the story one possible reason could be stress. The process of arriving to the airport, getting through security, and boarding the plane can be very stressful.

Many airlines and travel industries have implemented technology to make traveling easier such as through buying airfare online, booking hotels and renting cars, and even reserving off-airport parking through an app.

Don't be late and end up in a crate. Save stress and possibly anything worse by utilizing technology and reserving all your travel needs in advance.
:lmao: all I could think of was Babe writing blurbs for drip marketing campaigns.

Bucky - my wife had some squamous cells show up in an exam a few years ago. She had to get a biopsy, and I think a little more frequent checkups for a couple of years, but nothing serious came of it. Your GF may be looking at the same thing in terms of additional exams, but it's not a guarantee of anything bad going on.
