GM's thread about nothing (54 Viewers)

Ok- I don't even know where to begin with this, so I might as well ask you lot.

FF has taken a deep backseat for me, and even though I still love playing, I barely follow my own players let alone the rest of the NFL.

I need to figure out my FF Dynasty team cuts in the next week, and overall direction for the team this year (rookie picks, trades, etc)... and don't know where to ask or even look at this point. The Assistant Coach and SP forums scare the living hell out of me. Ideas?

TIA. I'll answer yours.
A roster and scoring rules would help.
Wait... ask the question here? Like, fantasy football and whatnot? I figured there'd be a... place... for that kind of thing.
Trade for Gates.

Mrs. TF had the twins at 4:00 this morning  Still in nicu b/c they were premies, but all signs looking great.Working on 2 hours of sleep in the past 24 hours. I'm tired, but can't sleep. Thank god I didn't decide to go out last night.
Congrats TF!

Why isn't my wife more impressed with my XBOX athletic feats? Liverpool just beat Chelsea 11-1 behind six goals from Steven Gerrard, and the best I can get is "I'm trying to sleep!"

UW-Milwaukee can't make the Sweet 16 run they made a few years ago, but the past 5 minutes of this game have been pretty good. Nice comeback dropping a 15 point lead down to 4.

Small conference college basketball is fun to watch. These kids play hard

El Floppo thinks Gates is over-valued. Additionally, El Floppo doesn't know who Gates is.Okeedoke- here goes:

12 teams, standard scoring, no PPR, QB, 2x RB, 3xWR, 1 Flex, TE, PK, LB, DL, DB (IDPs scoring is minimal, and roster management is borderline irrelevant). We have to roster 2 players min at each position- I haven't shown the PKs and IDPs, but will be keeping all of them most likely- this allows me to draft 5 skill players in the upcoming rookie/FA draft, rather than meet roster requirements for those others... unless

QB:

Garrard, D

Hasselbeck, M

Hill, S

Manning, E

Stafford, M

RB:

Benson, C

Foster, A

Hillis, P

Jones, T

Peterson, A

Snelling, J

Tate, B

WR:

Henderson, D

Johnson, A

Massaquoi, M

Meachem, R

Obomanu, B

Owens, T

Smith, S (Car)

Thomas, M

Welker, W

TE:

Hernandez, A

Olsen, G

- I need to drop 5 guys. I was thinking: Hasselbeck, Hill, D Henderson, Obamanu and ... Massaquoi? I've been trying to trade away Hasselbeck and draft picks for higher draft picks, but nobody's biting. One guy has a hardon for Garrard, and I might be able to throw him out there in the same way and keep Hass?

- Any general ideas on the team? WRs getting old, I know. QBs are all middling.

- I've got the 1.10... any ideas? This usually puts me in the top rookie QB range, or lower tier rookie RB/WR. fwiw- Jimmy Graham is available as a FA, and if the rooks are looking played out, I might jump on him.... or not. No idea really.

TIA.

I would rather keep Hass than Garrard. If another owner wants Garrard, do it and remind him that you did him a solid when there's someone you want to steal from his roster.

Very little. There's also scuttlebutt that Hass will wind up in Arizona. This is your QB3 we're talking about, don't over-think it. Have a drink, I am. :banned:

I'm impressed.Of course I'm more of a Dimitar Berbatov fan. That man is majestic on the electronic pitch.

And to the guys stuck raising them.
:lmao: On a serious note: Anyone have any idea what ,in general, it would cost to carry 2m in liability insurance for a small business?
Our policy runs about $2,500 / year but it will depend on what type of business (we have no retail) and your sales volume. It's a pretty easy process to get it quoted though... just some basic questions they'll ask.

So any idea how cbs or other places will run brackets this year with the extra play-in games? Yes, I realize they don't select the teams until Sunday but this year there are 2 play-in games for the 12 seed and the whole 5/12 upset is always fashionable. (There are also 2 play-in games for 16 seeds but a 16 has never beaten a 1).

I run an office pool and I got an email from CBS saying that last year's group was re-opened for this year and to check it out. But when I clicked on the link the page was down.

El Floppo-why keep Hass? He hasn't been good since 2007. The fact that you can't trade him

should tell you something-he's not worth keeping. I would go after J Graham- 2nd round.

I don't know how high TE's are valued in your league. I think you need a strong backup TE

over drafting a WR or rook QB and Graham was being hyped before the Saints cut Shockey.

I agree with your cuts. Hass over Garrard. Thats a nice dynasty roster, You might be better off

ignoring all of our advice.

So maybe it's not what every fbg dreams of for their birthday. You and I are different. Good birthday sonshine?
rorMrs. SLB had me lined up for a Swedish massage at 11:00. Sadly, she didn't give orders for a happy ending. I wasn't even going to go into the office but I got tipped off that I had to. I arrived at 2:00 to find this waiting for me. Not pictured is a case of Bud Light on the spare desk across from mine. I was shocked and horrified so I did my best acting, thanked the well meaning sweethearts in the office and cut the cake up for everybody. I left the office about 3:00 and picked up a case of Budweiser and took a trip down the river road. It was overcast and raining but it is still beautiful. I took this pic which is at the end where the road and river part. I just thought the contrast of the mountains and prairie looked pretty. From there I went to an Italian restaurant and picked up some food for the family and had a couple of stiff drinks. Dinner was great and Cal "Shecky" SLB was more entertaining than normal. Mrs. SLB gave the boys baths while I smoked the last of the cigars Krista gave me, had some more whiskey and watched the first half of Goodfellas as I reminisced and longed for the good old days. We got the boys to bed so I went upstairs to bed. Since it was birthday and all I dressed up like Booker T. Washington and watched Enter The Dragon while Mrs. SLB gave me a prostate massage.

I'm sending this to my wholesaler. I'll let you know what he says.

My Dad gave me a digital picture frame with a ton of old pictures he painstakingly scanned. Would it be funny to print out pics from 30+ years ago that has a pic of, say my Great Grandmother's house in it, and then anonymously leave it at the current owner of the house? I think it would.

When the girls' had a visit in the east end of town and I was early I would sometimes drive to some of the houses I use to live in. Weird seeing people there. I'd love to see old pictures of my house. Do it.

Our current house use to belong to a friend of mine in high school. Her step dad just came home from BC last week to go ice fishing with hubby. He was here twice just to the door/porch and wouldn't come in. I guess it felt weird coming into a house you use to live in.

Perhaps weirder by the fact that they lost it when they went bankrupt. We didn't buy it from the bankruptcy, the guy we bought it from did. He had to do a ton of work with it, addition, in house and detached garages, pool, etc. When they knew they were losing it, they moved out and left the son there who sold anything he could take apart and wrecked the rest.

The stepdad just peeped downstairs the first time asking "is the bar still there?" It is indeed.

The problem is that I won't get to enjoy the pay off. Maybe when I go a little more insane.

Dead is a relative term. This thread "dies" every night, only to be "reborn" the next day.

GMTAN will evolve into a church in the future, complete with its own milky messiah.

Umm, wat?

I tease my two daughters (10 and 8) about this all the time. I told them that our government owes a lot of money, and there are are three ways to deal with it. The first two ways are to either raise taxes or cut spending. "Are they going to raise taxes?""Nope," I say. "Are they going to cut spending?""Nope," I say. So they want to know, "What's the third way?"I reply, "The third way is not to do anything, and make it YOUR problem."
