GM's thread about nothing (54 Viewers)

GM> Why did you go there?
Oh, hello Shuke. One of my friends (assistant soccer coach, dad of Kellen's good buddy) is in there for wire fraud and bank fraud related to a mortgage company he ran in the 90's-2000's. Great guy who got nailed by the Feds for breaking the law. He should be out next spring. Never been to visit him or anybody locked up before. It was surreal. Glad I went, though. Meant a lot to him I think. All of his friends said they'd visit him and very few have followed through. Hell, it took me a year to get down there, but I went.
Other than destroying our financial system.

Dear costco gas peopke.

just because your gas cap is on the right side doesn't mean you have to go in the line appropriate to the side of your car. If you notice the sign and nozels they have the longer pumps with the extension cable. So you can go in any line.

you know what forget I said anything it was nice skipping the lines today.
I complain about stupid people a lot, but this is one time I don't.

Looked up my first girlfriend who broke up with me after 5 years. Yikes. Thought about sending her a thank you card.

Finished repainting the home office today. Just have touch up and base boards to go before we get it tiled in a couple of weeks. There is only one ceiling in the house that has the original paint and its days are numbered. Of course its the largest ceiling in any room in the house. Ugh.
if your are tiling why do you have the baseboards on already ?
Carpet needs to come out and tile going down on slab rather than subfloor. Thinset will raise it to the level of the baseboards and no finishing strip. Just a quick paint of baseboards before tiles go in.
so why not take the baseboard off and have the tile under the baseboard. Just curious
Tile will be under the baseboards when installed.

so you're sliding the tiles in under the finished baseboard?

or are we misreading this?

we aren't getting hit by this winter stuff anywhere near as badly as Boston and the NE... but I'm officially over the snow/sleet/cold. and it's only February.

Haven't seen it.

Just found out my cousin is a non-vaccinator. And he has a new baby. Ugh.
Ugh, I recently found out a previously well respected acquaintance of mine is one of these people.
Enjoy your plague.

Of course, they loved it but fell asleep towards the end.
I'm sure you weren't the only one that got poisoned with carbon monoxide.

ok.

seems like more potential for problems vs the "normal" way of working (taking baseboard off first)... but hopefully it'll all work out fine.

and now that I'm completely emotionally invested, please let us know how it goes and if there actually are any problems with the install due to baseboards.

This guy was sitting next to us today with his male lover. They stroked each other's arms and read from the bible. They also tore up some Nilla Wafers and a box of raisins, which I took to mean his male lover must be squirreling away some of the $50 Million, which has never been recovered.
Were they as excited as the cactus on the left, middle or right?

I visited people in Maximum security. It's not fun
We went there first on accident and though we were told by two large guards who looked angry at the world that we were in the wrong place and turned quickly around, I got a bad bad vibe in that joint. Mom with three young kids crying going through a metal detector at the time. Not Disneyland.

:goodposting: I have a spot in my that needs 2 floor joists jacked up so when you take the baseboard off there is a gap in on corner of my house. I'm afraid to jack them up and shim them at this point. No idea what I may break

No, never really worried about that, just never liked you. Still don't. Dr. Detroit had your back and asked me nicely to give you a chance, so I did. But I don't like you at all, think you are a dooooosh of the highest order and wouldn't piss on you if your Packers' underwear were on fire. Go away. You suck.
well, this came out of nowhere

i'm ok with not being in the favor of a 40something year old alcoholic that cheated on his wife with his own nanny. sometimes in life people don't mesh and that's ok. don't lose sleep over it. i'm sure when the nanny gets tired of you that krista will have a vacation home nearby you can stay at.
My age? That's your go to insult? The rest...funny. Yeah I'm a goofy looking *******. But I'm sure you loom like Brad Pitt.

Whatever it is in life that's beating you down, I hope it gets better for you. Out of nowhere is right...I haven't said anything to you in years, despite your desperation for attention. You took a shot at me, not the other way around.
not to bring up old drama, but Furley hasn't posted in the FFA since this exchange.

still active at Beer Spot though, so guess he's doing alright.

Will do. Installers said they do it this way quite a bit without issue. I thought about going all the baseboards off, but I already painted the walls. Pic of closet: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d151/osaurus/8ADF7B0A-A18E-427A-A193-F21E656F6100_zpsdj8yjdkr.jpg

I liked Furley and miss him. still don't get the dislike.

I only ever saw one misstep from him (that I can recall)... where he was advising somebody to avoid a swingers' weekend/trip. over and over advising against. other than that- I liked.

Beer dork calling me an alcoholic is good shtick. If he's lucky, he too may become 40 something in life.

Krista, how's my vacation home coming along?

You weren't in his cross hairs. Guy had it out for me for reasons I'll never quite understand. I ignored him for years and he decided one day to come in here and insult me completely unprovoked.

And 50 Shades of Gray Jersey Night

I'm not going to read the book or see the movie... but basing this from the commercials, is 50 Shades of Grey any different than 9 1/2 Weeks?
