Best Ball/All Play: The best possible lineup is calculated for you each week (best ball... if you have 3 QBs the best scoring one is put into your lineup after the games are played). The first part of the contest runs 5 weeks, each week you play all the other teams and are given a W/L record (all play), best 4 records after the 5 weeks move on.Best Ball/Survivor: Best lineup each week (best ball), each week the lowest scoring team (or two) is eliminated from the league (survivor). After 5 weeks, the 4 remaining teams move on.I won as well. Anyone tell me the difference between best ball/survivor and best ball/all play?Rude?

So my kid tells me that when he was driving home last night the car kept dying. He said it happened a couple of times while he was turning. I figured it was a loose battery cable or something. So today I tighten it up and drive it around the block. No problem.
About 30 minutes later he and my other kid are driving to the recycling place and it dies again. I drive it back and realize it has nothing to do with the battery...it's seems to be some sort of air intake problem.
I open up the air filter box and take out the filter. There's about 2 cups worth of dry dog food in the box.
What the hell? I ask both kids if they know what the hell is going on. Is one of their friends playing a joke or something? Neither one of them had any idea.
So on a hunch I google it. It's happened to other people before. The answer? Mice use the air filter box to store food that they've foraged.
We cleaned it out but that wasn't the cause of the problem.
Back to google again and figured out it was a gummed up IAC valve. Fixed it.

I won Caption Contest #9. 1st place!
I am alternately fascinated and filled with loathing for X. Not feeling any empathy given that he was looking to euthanize two perfectly fine animals. There will probably be some X comics in the near future.
Went to a wedding this weekend. Cousin I don't see much, married a woman who is nice and all, but the whole wedding I'm trying to figure out which mini-boss from Legend of Zelda she most resembles. One of her teeth resembles a grey steel bolt.
Horrible service (on the beach though, and behind the altar the whole time is a smoking brunette lying out in a bikini), food was bleh, cash bar, toasts were odd. Whole night turned around though when we let our 17 month-old progeny go out on the dance floor and she danced for a good hour. She wasn't even walking six weeks ago. She'd walk around, then kind of do a bobbing dance, then walk around clapping her hands. Everyone there was losing their #### watching her. It was hysterical.
Then I went and played poker and won an insanely lucky hand (my KK AI preflop vs AA, A on the flop, K on turn, K on river). I was stunned. Took 2 hands to even stack up my chips. I was proud of myself for not acting like a ######## the way people do on TV. I bought the guy a beer and apologized, and he hit a straight flush later so I didn't feel too bad. It was a crazy game. 6-7 people seeing a flop with a preflop raise. Nuts.

Last year my entry into this garbage came in the "wild card" round where you were just supposed to state your credentials as to why you should be invited and I stole your Philo rant about it=info and there's no expires by date. So I guess you're just a savant.

Ditto. Unbelievable. I remember the first year they did this, I wasn't sure I even wanted to win. I just wanted to try to be funny, but I know none of the winners achieved that feat. Kudos.YSR, my first thought was snake bite. GL and get to the doctor. I doubt it's a poisonous snake bite at this point, but medical attention is probably a good thing now. I'm as accident prone as they come and I'm not scared of things that bite like snakes, spiders and scorpions, but when I get stung, I take it seriously. I went to the doctor to get a tick removed. On the other hand, I broke the last digit of my ring finger on my right hand 3 weeks ago and I haven't been to the doctor yet. It's still swolen 2x as much as the other one and sore to the touch.I am extremely afraid of mice, rats, and bats, however. 12 foot Burmese pyton slithers across my kitchen unexpectedly? I can probably handle the situation. A 2" mouse scurries across the floor behind my TV and I'm ready to destroy the entire room with a short handled shovel.

I seem to recall that I really screwed this up last time I did it. I don't think I realized that there is some sort of strategy concerning not drafting players with early season byes. This I'm going to get really drunk so I don't mess it up.

So it's just four teams from Week 5 to Week 16?
Leg 1 = NFL weeks 1 through 5144 owners (12 leagues of 12 teams each). Top 4 from each league advance to Leg 2.
Leg 2 = NFL weeks 6 through 10
48 owners (4 leagues of 12 teams each). Top 3 from each league advance to Leg 3
Leg 3 = NFL weeks 11 through 16
12 owners (1 league of 12 teams). Prizes based on how you finish there.

For all leagues, you draft the team and then don't need to do anything. Your best lineup each week will be automatically counted.
In All Play, you compete against every other team in your league each week. So, if you outscore everyone, your record for that week is 11-0. If you score the lowest, your record that week is 0-11. After 5 weeks, best 4 cumulative records advance. Goal here is to try and score a lot of points.
In Survivor, 1 or 2 teams with the lowest point total get eliminated each week. So, your main goal here is to avoid low scores.
