GM's thread about nothing (19 Viewers)

TF> I'd like to, but I'm afraid that thing is going to be worth a lot of dough in 30 years. I don't want to have sad stories like my dad about how his Mom threw out his Mickey Mantle card.

There are some copies avail. on eBay for ~100$ or so.

You misspelled Viking/Lion week.
If one of your friends who claims to be a huge MMA fan tells you he can't record TUF because he's currently watching X-Factor, do you openly mock him in public?
Yes. Air him out.I watch a lot of dumb stuff, but I never understood any of the singing competitions. They're horrible. My iPod is full of people who are compelling singers.
Sorry GPJ but :whoosh: :lmao:
Seriously  .Unrelated: Starting to feel sheepish about Melly'ing Barca. FCB supporters. Are. Everywhere. Saw an Alves jersey at target today, another one at the field last week. Did meet a nice older woman who was visiting from Barca the other day at a bar, but she was really nice and knew what she was talking about.
I thought he was making fun of Tre for comparing the Viking/Lion game to the Packer/Bear game. What the hell do I know. :bag:

This would be my ideal Northwest experience, if you care about fishing:you can rent a floating house or two on the Columbia or Willamette (better) that you can dock boats to. If you did this in early April (depending on the regs) on the Columbia, you'd be able to house everyone on the water in Portland with world class strip clubs, bars and restaurants, plus dock the fishing boats up to the floating houses and fish wide open king salmon in the morning before and after breakfast. This could only happen the second week of April, around the 10th.
Over/Under on the number of FBG drownings that week?

Any black guys going?

Syracuse-Toledo game was pretty good. OT win for Cuse. Though watching Toledo's pathetic excuse for an offense was like smacking your head against a pole. It was like 85% bubble screen passes to a WR or RB in motion. Gain 4-8 yards. Over and over. I dubbed it "The Mosquito Bite Offense" and couldn't decided whether I wanted to murder Toledo's o-coordinator or give the entire Syrause D concussions.

I've always wanted to learn how to fly fish. But there's no way I could make the proposed cornhole. :(

Is Pilsner Urquell a good beer? I have season tickets and am taking my buddy to the game. I said don't bring ##### or you're not invited again.
upper lower tier
Urquell on draft or from a can is an excellent beer; I've heard the unpasteurized, unfiltered version available in the C.R. is better, but it's still a great example of the Pilsner style. Urquell in the green bottles (usually skunked) lives up to its initials.

I'd try to convince my wife that I should go fishing with a bunch of guys I iknow if there's room for one more.
 GM, I think I have an idea for your warehouse...
:lmao:Buying bunk beds now. Also, Cos just called me. He wants to do this tomorrow. :lmao:I was just tossing out June 2012, but if there's legit interest, we should do it in July, not June. June can be a little wet here. But July? Well, July is just incredible. And there is fishing everywhere around here, so we don't have to hit Central Oregon. We can fish on the Columbia or really anywhere. Oregon is a very very very diverse state geographically. Portland is about an hour from some of the best coastlines in the country and about 45 minutes from Mt. Hood. The Columbia River offers up a Gorge that is just spectacular, offering up hikes and views like you wouldn't believe. For those who love wine, I can arrange a fabulous wine tour in the Willamette Valley. Beer tours here are very popular (I'm actually doing one today) and as the Beer Experts can attest, this state produces some of the very best beers out there. Golf? All over the place. Strip clubs? All nude, full bars, no eye-gouging on price. Want to shop for your lady because she just greenlighted a trip to hangout with internet strangers? No sales tax in Oregon...great place to buy her that piece of jewelry that you just know will keep you in great graces. My point is, there's no shortage of things to do, but if we're gonna do it, we should have some time to plan it out. Unlike our good buddy Scupper, I don't have accomodations for all, so we'll need to figure that out, though we could priceline some hotels downtown or consider renting a giant house.Options abound, my good iFriends.
:lmao: yeah, I figured Cos would be all over it, right now!Agreed on July. I would prefer to at least have a chance at phenomenal weather, and there's no way in hell I would leave for a weekend during the hockey playoffs.Fishing, beer and wine tours sounds phenomenal, and as long as we are 10 months out we should all (or most) be able to swing it. Golf does sound appealing as well, but transporting golfclubs in this day and age on airlines is a royal pain in the butt. Much easier to transport fishing gear, or just renting/buying something once on site.It really shouldn't have to be a major cost undertaking either. I'm thinking $500 bucks tops on flights, and most likely less, no matter from where in the US you fly in from. Maybe $150/night for accommodations, most likely less, beer/liquor/alternate options, no more than $250/person. Maybe $100 for fishing gear/bait?I think a max of $1,300/person (for 3 nights), but most would be able to get by a lot cheaper than that.OH12 interest:TUpBrongCostommyboyCharvikGMJeepZooksMr+Mrs K4Ken?TREcommisholio-fish-FatMaxThornSamFrosty?HomerJThat's 19 people right there and I might have missed someone skimming the thread.Should we set up a OH12 forum for planning on a side board?
I'd be interested if C-List posters are allowed. GM/Homer/Thorn have all been drinking with me before, so could either help or hurt my icred

Mr. YSR was playing around earlier with a 16-part 21-point teaser. He accidentally put it in as a straight parlay. So, we have a nice $10 bet down which will pay out $38,000. :lmao:

Just saw a potential great Shark Move for getting through traffic: buy a used cop car.

On the way to the office, typical Sunday traffic in my area, and from a ways back, I see a black and white coming up strong. Everyone on the road slows down and moves to the side, hopeing it's not them he is going to pull over. As the black and white flies by, you can see it has no decals at all and a guy with his hat on sideways bouncing his head to the music. Not a word anywhere on the car, but with the paint job, big antenna and spotlight on the side of the driver's door, it looked just like a cop car. The guy just cuts traffic like a knife for a clear mile in front of me before I lose sight.

You know the guy on these boards nobody likes who for some reason started his own gambling thread even though there's already one big community gambling thread? One of his wagers was on Welker under some amount of yardage. It was pointed out that that one lost in the first quarter, and he now claims he "took it off the board but forgot to update his list."

Some things never change.

After a couple weeks of football, I've come to the realization that it's just not fun unless you have money on it. My online accounts that I've used in the past are at $0... What are the best sites to use these days? How can I get them funded? I've got friends in Europe that I trust with $$ if that opens up some options

Despite the strict timeline and probably crappy weather, this is the best plan put forth for all of this so far (besides the original meet up hitting a local hole idea). Sunriver is fantastic and offers everything that GM said that it does, especially when you start looking into July. It is also about 3 hours away from Portland...not so great for folks rolling into the State when there are so many options just in the PDX area. The trout fishing is pretty good regardless of the method used and there are also plenty of spots in the area to pick up some bass and pan fish. Water-ski, raft, hike, bike, ATV, or shoot, it is all right there...and the properties available in this resort community are outstanding. The drive is worth it, but it is a long way from the airport. The Rouge River out near Medford is worse...the best regional airport to fly into is probably in Eugene. The drive is long and boring down the I-5 corridor. It is another destination spot that is worthy of praise and I doubt that you would regret the trip, but for a mass event it is harder than it needs to be. You will still be stuck with trout, bass, and pan fish if you come during the prime summer period.GM has the right idea of getting folks out to see what Oregon is about, but all of this is available right in the greater Portland area (1/3 scale, but still pretty fantastic and you can catch a bit of the Portland culture). My home is about 90 minutes south of GM in the Willamette Valley...it is a beautiful State, I can not wait until I can return for more than just a week or two.

For the 3rd week in a row, Birmingham NFL fans have been subjected to the Panthers game. I assume it's the Cam Newton factor. I've probably mentioned it in this thread already, but in the end, I just assumed some Auburn graduate was making the decisions at Fox. This week though? I thought for sure they wouldn't be airing what was sure to be a craptastic game against Jacksonville, but CBS stepped up to the plate. Thankfully the game ended and I'm watching the end of the Saints/Texans now.

Huntsville got the Saints game on the CBS affiliate instead of the normal Titans ####. I assume it was because of Ingram.

I saw a pissed off Titans fan complaining about this. He showed a release from the station who included Ben Tate as a reason along with Ingram.

I feel I speak for most of America when I say, "Who gives a #### about the Titans?"

This is probably money until a real cop sees it hauling ### down the highway.
