GM's thread about nothing (47 Viewers)

Absolutely, positively my worst nightmare. :)
Yep, Youre gonna need to go buy a gun so you can clean it when the 15 year olds start coming over. Make sure she gets into sports. Girls in sports have a higher value of themselves and dont get taken advantage of as easy. No Schtick
I've had this same thought. I'd also think this is true for girls who are into music, specifically guitar. Just a hypothesis.
Like Madonna?
Madonna plays guitar?

:wall: I'm in this boat... not looking forward to that at all. Sports is key, and I'm thinking horses + golf...
I would go with martial arts and competitive shooting.
 Way ahead of you. I have a black belt and trained as a sniper in the military.

What's the furthest distance that you could shoot a thrown Ritz cracker from?

Why would I want to shoot at a ritz cracker? I'd just throw one faster and harder than my opponent and hit him in the eye... ritz cracker dueling is serious business.

Congrats Oats!

Kids are great. You spend 20 percent of the time thinking, man, I should have done this sooner. You got another 10 where you really need another beer. The remaining 70 you spend trying to figure out how to fake your own death and move to Mexico.

lately, this ratio is more like 5/5/90

So ready for Football Season :goodposting:Thursday night game to open the season and drop the banner.....off to Vegas the next morning. :jawdrop:
you drafting this year?
No...just going with a bunch of buddies to gamble. Honestly, I doubt I'll even swing by one of the two high stakes events b/c we're only there Fri-Sun. You?
I'm heading out Wed, leaving late on Saturday. Probably only going to the FFPC events on Friday but not sure if I'm drafting yet or not.Where you staying?
Hilton. Large sportsbook (will be there all day Saturday/Sunday) that still gives out free drinks generously. Close to downtown, so we can gamble on the cheap.

Troubling texts today are from a girl who was a competitive rider. She was not an exception to the 7 hour rule. So maybe stick with regular sports. They're cheaper anyway.Though if we were to believe a woman, this was supposedly the first time she'd slept with someone she'd only known for two days.

Lots of dudes with preggers wives in here. Quick question -- do you guys give up booze to support the cause? She's struggling with this (not because she's an alcoholic in the technical sense, but we're drinkers), and I have said a few times I would quit with her, but she tells me that's silly. I've got the out here, but I still feel guilty every time I pour a scotch or glass of wine at home. What's protocol here?TIA
Hell no.

And what the hell is wrong with that?

Nothing imo. Seems like a reasonable amount of time. Especially if the guy is really, really, ridiculously good looking. :bluesteel:

alright, well let me know if you want to hang out with your ibuddies at all. I'll probably be with Clayton and Fro, and I assume Gator will be there.

Can I get an alias key in here? I've lost track of all my good buddies. I think a couple of you guys in here are like, I dunno, Truck, and Ahrn, maybe Imp, and others, but following you guys is nearly impossible without a physical notebook, and I'm just not that dedicated to the internet.

There is a clue in the sig.

I don't even know you anymore.

Cool. The only thing I know for sure is that we'll be watching the games on Sat/Sun at the Hilton. We get there Friday at 1ish, so I'm sure it'll be dump the bags at the hotel and hit downtown....but we've got a group of 7 or so, so you never know what might happen. We'll keep in touch as it gets closer.

With all these guys buying guns for their daughters I better buy my son a bullet proof vest and a damn good helmet.

Activate hippling, oh hell no. How else are you supposed to survive 9 months of a pregnant spouse if you're not drinking?

Got ready for softball, left the living room in my bare feet, socks and ball cap in hand...slipped down three stairs on my left foot. Big f'ing bang did that hurt. Almost stayed home but I sucked it up, sat on the stairs to put on my socks and sneakers and walked it off. Drove to the ball field and hit someones car trying to squeeze into the last available parking space. Dinged the bumper on the other car, no damage to my van.

Walk down to the field and ask around until I find the owner of the car, sweet young girl happy to have our bodyman fix it. Then it starts to rain. Game canceled.

$40 for a sitter plus whatever the damage on the car is and never even got to play ball.

Yay me!

19 years driving and that my first accident of any kind...before the smartasses come out crapping on women drivers.

SHARK WEEK!

I am trying to get Mr. krista4 to go shark diving in South Africa while we're there. Though he's not thrilled at the idea of being separated from the great whites by a little metal cage, his biggest objection seems to be that we would have to start our day at 5:30 a.m. :wall:
When I watch those "animals gone wild" type shows and see some guy get his head stuck in a crocs mouth or mangled by a bear, I cheer on the animal. What kind of idiot sticks their head in a crocs mouth or sits down in a small room with a bear? It's the sharks ocean, I'm happy to stay the f' out of his crib.
You're never gone swimming in the ocean?! Do you not swim at all, or just not in the ocean?Sadly for the thrill-seeking part of me, this is seemingly scary but with virtually zero actual danger. No one has ever been killed doing it, and only one person actually attacked and hurt, as opposed to the few thousand who have been attacked and several hundred who have died from shark attacks while swimming, surfing, etc. Three people died when one of the little boats sank a couple of years ago, but I take that risk on every trip I take in order to get to these far-flung locations. It's my least favorite part of every trip since one of my only two fears in the world is drowning (the other, clowns).

I'd do it even if there were more risk, though. Sharks are incredibly fascinating creatures, and the thought of being able to swim so close to one is too enticing. And I like extreme stuff like bungee, sky-diving, etc. anyway.

I hate the term "bucket list," but if I didn't, this would be on itHave loved sharks my whole life

Diving off of Seal Island is something I hope to do someday
Same deal. Getting in a cage and going down with the Great Whites has always been a dream of mine.
Fingers crossed for good weather when we go out. It's near the end of winter there, which is supposed to be ideal viewing time (from a visibility standpoint) if the weather cooperates. Hope to come back with some good pics. :wall:

So after a month or so of basically trying to hide from the 8-months pregnant Mrs. Frostillicus, I think she might have turned a corner. My parents took out 2-year old for the night, so she went shopping and I went to watch some friends play in a Kittenball tournament and was there for a few hours. When I got home, she suggested that for dinner we go up to the corner bar for their meat raffle and suggested I have a couple of beers. This behavior would never have occurred even a week ago.

I'm trying to decide if she's feeling better or if this is some kind of trap.
It's like this was written in a very foreign but quite mesmerizing language.ETA: I see this has been covered.
