Checking the facebook info page for one of the girls I'm seeing (yesterday's lake pic).

Movies:

Step Brothers, Now and Then, The Count of Monte Cristo, Italian Job, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Zoolander, Dirty Dancing, Coyote Ugly, Love Actually, Sweet Home Alabama, Breakfast at Tiffany's, A Walk to Remember, Wedding Crashers, Gladiator, Rat Race, Grease, Twilight, Catch Me If You Can, Splendor in the Grass, Across the Universe, Pride & Prejudice
:lmao: :lmao:Also pretty damn sure she has experienced one of my "Twilight is the worst movie I've ever seen" rants, though to be fair that was referring to the second one. I'm sure the first one is great.
Without knowing a thing about this woman, I'm going to guess where she went to collge. I get three tries:1. Texas Tech

2. North Texas

3. Tony&Guy Academy
Hairdressing school down?

Is that what that is?Had no idea

I don't even know what the current NYC hairdressing school name would be

Is Barbizon still around?

Oh, and the Kinks kick ###

I've come to the conclusion that girls whose favorite 2 movies are How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Sweet Home Alabama should come with a warning label on their forearm or something, like the labels they slap on packs of cigarettes.
If you are entering into relationships with women before you even have an opportunity to ask them what their favorite movie is, that's your problem. If you are sleeping with women before you even have an opportunity to ask them what their favorite movie is, you're my hero.
Really? Is that one of your first date interview questions or something? If that has ever come up with women I've dated it's only because they mentioned it at some point. Doubt I've ever asked that question.
No, I was merely saying that if he thought such chicks should come with a warning label, he could effectively determine whether any prospective partner fell into the dreaded category in a matter of seconds. In fact, it's actually not a bad idea for a filter. There's any number of favorite movies that would be huge red flags.I honestly have no idea what my wife's favorite movie ever is. Maybe I should ask her.
I'm going to look on my wife's FB account right now to check. BRB

Want three more?

Hint: Four year degree from a school in the state of Texas. And she went to Plano West. Class of '05. :homer:

Good. It seems like there's a consistent pattern emerging. Both girls I dated got their degrees from solid 4 year schools too.And I just checked the movie list of the girl I spent a couple nights with last weekend. Neither movie made it! And 2 of those listed are 2 of my top 100 favorites (Anchorman and Blow).

Nothing listed. Nothing good could ever come of asking her. Bliss - it's utterly fantastic here.

I'm thinking this is probably the best strategy. My wife's could just as easily be Fried Green Tomatoes as Goodfellas.
My wife doesn't really care for romantic comedies and has never even attempted to get me to see a chick flick with her. Currently, we're going through every episode of the Sopranos. She LOVES it. Did this with Six Feet Under last summer. Man, I did it right this time around. :bag:

Stu, does she at least like good music?
It doesn't really matter. I'm playing what I want. She has the generic girl answer of liking "a little bit of everything", which generally means crap. Her facebook list isn't great but could be worse...
Kelly Clarkson, John Mayer, Ernie Halter, Coldplay, Incubus, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Dave Barnes, Hinder, The Fray, Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Kings Of Leon, Scouting For Girls, Matt Wertz, Train, Lifehouse, Jessica Simpson, Jenna Paulette, Five Times August
I took her to see Doug Burr and The O's. She said she liked it. We also went to a Poison Cherry show (covers of 80s hair bands). She had fun but only recognized a few songs. Probably because she was born in '86.

Best man at my wedding is an enormous Kinks fan. He's forced fed the Kinks to me since 10th grade. I kid him about it, but the Kinks do indeed kick ###.
Waterloo Sunset is just a flat out gorgeous song
Just emailed my pal, asking him to rank Waterloo Sunset. His reply:
I’d put Waterloo Sunset between #5 and #10. It’s probably their prettiest song, but it’s pretty depressing. If you’re doing a Kinks deep dive try Autumn Almanac (which also happens to be one of Beck’s favorite songs- you’d probably find this one irritating the first time you heard it but after a year or 2 it would grow on you, like Wilco did for me), Dead End Street, or Shangri La.

Good call IMOI happen to dig pretty but depressing stuff

:football:

I have always found Autumn Almanac a bit disjointed...The beginning is kinda annoying, then it evolves into this pastoral, almost Beatles-esque middle section that is great, and then goes back to the kinda annoying stuff for the end

It IS a great British slice of life though

How come I never decided to throw a few pieces of bacon on the grill while making burgers until today?? I must be missing a piece of my brain to not have thought of this earlier.

Wait, you mean you put them right on the grate?
News to me as well, if true. Seems like it would be a hassle. I'm assuming we aren't talking about a flat top on the stove.I couldn't believe I had never done a drunken chicken this past Memorial Day. Easiest thing on the planet and probably my favorite way to eat chicken now.
