GM's thread about nothing (33 Viewers)

Yeah, stop calling them uggs unless you're doing this. :style:
So I can't refer to the house shoes/slippers I wear by the company that makes them?
No. No, you can't. And why would you? You just said you leave your jacket on at work. You didn't say you leave your Northern Face on at work. :goodposting:
Fair enough.

Dude....go outside and play. How can you possibly remember this stuff?

I wear flip flops all summer, so I guess I can understand taking off shoes when at home when it's warm. But I don't even take off my jacket at work. My feet get even colder, so shoes stay on. I hate the cold.
Do you take off your pants and jack it before you go to bed?
PJ Pants stay on, jacket goes off. I used to have an electric blanket that I loved more than life itself, but it shorted out and died in college and I just haven't gotten around to getting a new one.

We just bought one last night (we are trying to go all winter without turning on the heat and it's been in the 20s here lately). I was a skeptic, but am now a believer in just how amazing electric blankets are. :P

So.

You guys walk around all day through dog ####, piss, vomit, old people, cigarette butts and mud, and then keep your shoes on when you get home?

where the hell are you walking? I take my car out of my garage, park in a reserved spot, walk 20 feet to the door and then go into my office which is professionally cleaned once a week.

Notebook says NYC. I bet he's right about what he's walking through, there.

 You people are disgusting.Actually I just stopped by to thank G.M. and SLB and everybody else for the best thread all year. I don't post here much but I read and lurk here everyday. Hands down the best thing going around these parts. Here is the proof for anyone who doubts what I just wrote: go back to the FFA index and click on the replies column for this thread. A window opens up showing who has posted in this thread, and how many posts (99% of you already knew this but I don't Krista4 to feel stupid). The fact that this thread has 14,000+ posts and not a single one is by LHUCKS or timschochet is indisputable evidence that GM's thread about nothing (everything) is the probably the best thing in the history of the FFA.

Good point. PM's sent. :)

Not necessary. Pretty sure those guys regularly run searches for their names. They should be around shortly.
we need a plan in case the worst happens. in the FFA wagering thread, everyone just completely ignores he who shall not be named pac 10 fan. no comments, insults, no nothing. just a complete refusal to acknowledge his presence. acknowledgment just brings them back for more. any attention, even negative attention, feeds their need to destroy all that is good.

It annoys me when the media (radio, on-line stuff, etc.) go nuts over financial information of people or companies and don't really jack schmitt on what they are talking about.

Example 1:

The media is making a big deal about how the airlines made a lot of money (a few billion) on baggage fees. They are going nuts. What they dumb ####s don't realize is that just because you see that one stream of revenue doesn't mean that the company is making a lot of money. Maybe they lowered their ticket prices to get people on board knowing that they can offset the loss of ticket sales by the baggage revenue. Dumb aces.

Example 2:

OMG, Jessica Simpson's company had revenues of $750 million! She's rich! She needs a prenup! Yes, she might have make a lot of money but guess what....REVENUE DOESN'T MEAN PROFIT. Heck, there are lot of companies that pull in that much money and more and have a loss at end of it all. People are dumb.

:rantover:

pretty sure I read Ms. Simpson has netted $100m for herself from her clothing line. That would be rich enough for me to consider dating her

bunch of us bought into some penny stock at work a few years ago. they had some judgement yesterday that ruled in their favor and it went up from like 1/3 of a cent to 8 cents yesterday and ended up at .04. Heavy volume today as well. I only have 15k shares, but my buddy has 150k. At least it will make the day exciting.

VYEY

Insiders exercised options and SOLD SOLD SOLD last week. I mean, anybody and everybody in that company sold. The stock held together pretty well considering. Again, this company is not forward sold and is the best pure play, IMO, to rising uranium prices. Uranium ticked up again to $61.75 on Monday. As it climbs, so too will this stock. In fact, I might just buy some more on weakness.
No kidding.

I just saw the $61.75, which is cool.

ETA

Just added some UEC.

So now I have:

UEC

CCJ

URG

SXRZF.PK

PALAF.PK

DNN

I have this terrible itch to get back into URZ.
Uranium Energy Corp Added to S&P/TSX Global Mining Index :towelwave:

Girl on left is the potential new facebook friend. Girl on right is the first friend she hooked me up with.
wow. easy decision here, IMO. de-friend your GB if necessary.
:goodposting: To be clear, it's the GB's girlfriend. He's not even on facebook, but I'm sure would understand if I de-friended him. She probably would not.And I'm not planning to hook up with the girl on the left. At least not unless she runs out of friends. :lmao:
Still ignoring friend request. :goodposting:

The Vikings are a "Neutral" matchup in this week's Passing Matchups?
what should they be?
No mention of Flynn either?
In the GB writeup? He's in there.
Oops, I meant Webb. Duh.
Minnesota Vikings Passing Offense vs Chicago Bears Passing Defense (Neutral Matchup)Brett Favre threw 18/31 for 170 yards, one TD and three interceptions in the loss to Chicago week 10 (13-27 was the final score). However, he's likely out for the season thanks to his injured shoulder, leaving the keys to the passing offense in Tarvaris Jackson's shaky hands. Since stepping in for Favre in week 13, Jackson has posted 30/52 for 305 yards, two TDs and four interceptions (with six sacks taken, and six rushes for 30 yards). He couldn't find the end zone in Detroit (vs the Giants) last Monday, tossing 15/30 for 118 yards, zero TDs and one interception, and ended up the night on the sidelines due to turf toe. The Vikings are looking at signing another QB as Jackson's status for week 15 is uncertain as of midweek - keep an eye on Footballguys.com's players in the news later this week for all the latest on this developing situation if you are invested in the Vikings' passing attack this year. The Bears' pass D has allowed 16/24 for 168 yards, one TD and zero interceptions to Detroit and 27/40 for 351 net yards, two TDs and zero interceptions to New England in the last two weeks. Over the past four weeks, the team has coughed up 960 yards passing (240 net yards per game on average) and 82 total points (with just 2 interceptions to go with their league-best mark of 15 sacks generated in that span of time). The guys up front are bringing the heat, but the Bears secondary isn't getting the job done entering week 15. Chicago's D has slipped considerably in recent weeks. The Vikings' attack is in turmoil due to injury woes and they are now playing out the string, while the Bears' D has nose-dived of late and looked awful at home last week. This is an ugly but even matchup in our book, but we aren't excited about the Vikings' passing attack given all the problems there of late.Weather: If the Metrodome is repaired in time, weather conditions won't be an issue on Monday Night Football. It remains to be seen where this game will actually be played. Stay tuned to Footballguys.com's players in the news later in the week for the latest on this developing situation. Please refer to the NFL's injury report for the latest injury news regarding your players.
I would say "Tough", at best. Webb was behind Tavaris Jackson on the depth chart, that says something.

Cool stuff, Bobby Layne....and great username, by the way. Layne went to Highland Park High School with Doak Walker. From the stories my dad tells, Layne used to party hard with his linemen, drinking Boilermakers into all hours of the night and playing with fierce hangovers.Highland Park is also the school that produced Matthew Stafford, a fun fact that I and I alone find interesting.

Of course, HP churned out some other superstars....Angie Harmon, Jayne Mansfield, Morgan Fairchild, Stephanie March and also this sexy beast.

The cup I am drinking from was apparently made from corn.Seems weird.
Big rage at Portland sporting events and concerts. All cups are made from corn. Also, they are getting rid of all plastic grocery bags here and will charge customers a nickle for paper bags starting next November. Gotta love the tree huggers.

it's rating the matchup (i.e., Bears pass defense)...not the Vikings offensive players.
Huh. That's not how I've read it. :thumbup:So Schaub and his 62 attempts last week were enough to drop the Ravens from a "Tough" matchup in W14 to a "Good" matchup in W15? It has nothing to do with Drew Brees? That doesn't seem right.

looks to me like the writeups focus on things like defense and weather. they do take into account how the offense has been doing in recent weeks as well, but isn't it basically trying to determine if the passing game will do better or worse than normal based on their matchup that week?Tarvaris Jackson wasn't on IR at the time the writeup was done I'm guessing. :shrug:Patriots vs Bears last week was neutral. Vikings vs Bears this week are also neutral. I don't think this means that the Vikings passing game is equivalent to the Patriots. The Ravens pass defense fell apart completely in the 2nd half last week, didn't they?

Oh, hello Truck. :lmao:

Great stuff about Highland Park. Knew about Doak but not about the rest of that impressive lineup (present company excluded).

;)

Yeah, I always read it as a combination of the offense and the defense. That's why the Skins are a good matchup against the awful Cowboys, instead of a great one, no?
