GM's thread about nothing (20 Viewers)

His standup is funny. I'm not sure what you're watching.
I watched a few youtube clips of his standup. Link to something good, please.
This was posted in actual chat earlier today. I've seen it before, but found it pretty funny again, even though I've seen it many times already.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU5KJt-NgVA

Someone covered the schtick on his show earlier in the thread: funny quips about clips which need no explanation. Still funny though, but he's kind of like Mystery Science Theater for already funny internet clips.

I can only handle tosh.0 in small doses. Judd said something about it being one-liner overload, and that's about right. His standup is much better.

drove from Buffalo home to Chicago today. Got a letter in the mail from Australia. Opened it and found out I got a speeding ticket from a camera for going 5kmph over the speed limit. 5! I had a car for a day and a half and the total cost of the rental plus gas was probably $100 or less.

Cost of the ticket: $149

bad beat.

Probably right. I saw one clip where the cruise ship was in extremely rough seas. I've never watched the show fully, but that clip made me less likely to hit "record" on the DVR. I'll look up his stand-up sometime.

When are you going back to Australia?

And I thought it was bad here. Can you imagine giving tickets for 3 mph over the limit?

Dunno if it's the same in Australia, but American tickets from cameras hold no legal weight. If you just throw it away, you're fine. The only money they get are from the rubes that fall for it and essentially admit guilt. But Australia might be different, who knows.

But, since it's a rental they won't fight it...just go after our GB Rud, no?

this is a complete scam.they set up hidden cameras on a 3-lane highway that is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Australia and send out $150 tickets for people caught going at least 3km over the limit of 100.

I found the response video clever, but when he's standing up by the screen it seems forced and unnatural.

:homer: You need to watch the whole show. There are repeats playing all the time on Comedy Central. Funny, funny, stuff.

Comparing him to Cook is like comparing Eddie Murphy (in his prime) to Carlos Mencia.

I was driving through Chicago a couple of years ago and was something like 49 cents short on one of the tolls. Threw in what change I had and went on my way. Ended up getting a bill for $104 with a pic of my license plate about a year later. :excited:

When I was walking into the hospital I noticed a sign that read "please don't smoke, we have to protect our children." :homer:
The hospital here in Woodstock, VA is a "no smoking campus". I drive by the entrance (probably 300 yards from the buildings) a couple of times a day and it's funny to see all of the cars/people out by the road smoking. Looks like a bus stop where the parents congregate waiting for their kids.

You're not thinking of paying this are you?

Things that are not possible in a household with cats:Running on the treadmillWorking a jigsaw puzzle
I have a couple of wireless mats for Dance Dance Revolution, and my dogs keep thinking I'm playing a game with them and they stand in front of me and bark, blocking the signal and making me fail every time.
:nerd:We rescued a male cat over Thanksgiving who is, according to future MIL a "convicted murderer", so we keep him in a back bedroom at night. During the day, when the other two cats are sleeping on the bed anyway, we close them up and let him out. He's a clingy attention whore. I was running on the treadmill yesterday morning and sure enough I saw him eyeing me... wanting attention. Should have turned on the camera at that time, but neglected to do so and therefore lost the footage of the cat trying to jump onto the treadmill to rub up on my legs.ACP> the cat shot off the treadmill in a frenzied heap on the floor. That should make you happy. He is fine, though, which likely will not make you happy.
:doh:Add to the list:Set any dark item of clothing on the bed for longer than 20 seconds.
Mrs. SLB just broke my will and the dog barked at me the whole time. Sexy.

Yeah, they had those too. I'm guessing this was an old sign. I witnessed a gaggle of people smoking on the corner too when I left.I live in the most violent city in America. Pretty nicely polluted too. But a little cigarette smoke. OMG!!I seriously hate people. Did I mention the smoking ban went in place 1/3? I haven't had a smoke since Sunday but when I go to the bar tomorrow I want a cigarette damn it. BTWIllinois is about to roll back the smoking ban at casino's. Apparently it's alright to financially hurt or bankrupt every other business that usually had smoking not the state. I want to smoke at the privately owned bar, if the owner allows it, not the public library, you bunch of #######.That is all. Carry on.

You will be amazed, both by how quickly you get used to it and how you come to prefer it this way.
No. I'll probably end up smoking a lot more wacky too.Sorry for the rant.
I'm telling you, you will. This is coming from someone who is a bar smoker and who HATED the idea of a ban.

:) I've never seen his stand-up. I'll have to check it out to see if it's any good.

Sorry, SLB. I love going to the bar and not coming home smelling like your ashtray.
Go to a bar that doesn't allow smoking.Again, sorry for the rant.
I've never seen one of these. Not before they were forced by law at least...I'm with Idiot Boxer on this one. I just wish more of the local cities would get on board. No smoking in Dallas bars since April '09, but Addison/Richardson/etc aren't technically Dallas.I haven't heard any complaints here, but it's rarely too cold for a patio smoke break to be a major inconvenience.

hey stu - update on the guy in your sig. allegedly he ripped people off in some kind of fantasy football league thing for thousands.
