GM's thread about nothing (18 Viewers)

So, my family (parents, siblings, and all their kids) does one big get-together for Thanksgiving and Christmas combined, which is much easier to schedule than trying to get 30-40 people together twice.

In addition, all of the siblings and the parents get together close to each holiday just for an evening of cards, drinking, and snacking. It's a good time, and I really enjoy hanging out with them.

Anyway, this year, the latter events have caused me to miss

in concert- Local LebowskiFest (with free food/bowling/screening)

I love my family, but they're KILLING me.

I would seriously be pissed about this.

Yeah. Missed them over the summer b/c of a sand volleyball tournament that PERFECTLY overlapped the concert, and then the November show to boot. Luckily, they seem to come by on a semi-regular basis, so one of these days. Website has them back here April 2, which is currently open. :fingerscrossed:

Spike the ball, Maverick.

When Traman Williams ran his game-ending interception out of the end zone, keeping the play alive, I yelled "GET ON THE GROUND, YOU DIM BULB!!!!11!!" This made my mother giggle.

I shot my 72-year-old mother a dirty look.

:lmao:
Your mom is 72? :lmao: How old are you? Are most of your (the collective whole thread "you") parents in their 70s? My dad turns 60 this summer and when I realized it the other day it really hit me hard. I mean my dad seems so young to me. He's still at the top of his game professionally and in great shape, probably better shape than me. The idea of him getting old is freaking me out.

My mom was set to retire on Dec 28th and postponed it for a month die to the anxiety attacks she was having. She'll be 55 in 3 days.

tried a new crockpot recipe with chicken this weekend...very simple and tasty.1. Empty box of stuffing into crockpot.2. Cover with frozen chicken breasts (and any other frozen veggies)3. Cover that with 2 cans of cream of mushroom soupCook for about 4 hours on low
That sounds like something I could do. Wonder if I have a crockpot... :lmao:
If you don't, they're pretty damn cheap...like $15 for a small one.

My parents are both 84. (I'm 47 :surprise:)

My dad turns 75 next week. Mom is 69. I'm 37.

Been trying to bump threads to get those "polls" off the 1st page.

Most of them are gone except for the D-bags 6 pager.

Are some posters really that stupid?

Dad--82

Mom--78

Dad got run over by a truck at 74, broke his femur, hip and 13 ribs and his heart stopped twice in the ER and he still gets around pretty good.

Dad is 60, Mom is 58.

SO's Mom is 60, Dad (Allah Akbar guy) is 78.

Great guy though. Still very young for his age, and has the sense of humor of a 12 year-old.

Wife makes a version of this without a crock pot.Lay chicken breasts in a pan, top with stuffing, then pour the soup over the stuffing and breasts.Good eats!

The coolest of the cool have kept this thread alive. Were I able to construct the perfect party in the perfect place with the perfect guest list....you would all be there. MVP list. Rather talk to you people than 78% of what I have to talk to.God, tomorrow is huge. This little state has only one championship to its name....77 Blazers were NBA Champs. NCAA Baseball doesn't really count. This is the first time in forever that Oregon was sports relevant. Auburn is tired of playing little sister to Bama. I heard 20K Auburn fans came down sans tickets. They just wanted to be there. Amazing. This city is going nuts. The fans are nuts. I can't be there, but I have a table for 13 reserved at BUffalo Wildwings. They don't reserve tables for anyone else. I'm going to skype with inlaws. Scream, yell, dance...I'm picking my kids up early from school for this.THIS IS HUGE!!!! GO DUCKS!!!!!!
GM, it extends through the state, that's for sure. I have buddies that are die-hard Beavers fans - alumni even - and can't help rooting for Oregon (well, some of them, anyway). I'm part of a Monday night recovery group that meets every week, no matter what. The only day they've ever canceled was Christmas. Snow, ice storms, power outages, New Year's Eve, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, whatever, they met. Tomorrow? Uhh....meetings will resume Jan 17th. :confused:Just out of curiosity, which BWW are you going to? And jplvr, it's "OR-ih-guhn". Thanks for asking!
Beaverton, across from Stars. If available, come sit down and have a coke. On me.
I'm in Central Oregon, but thanks for the offer. Was just curious what area you're in.
