shuke and jplvr (I think)> can I burn a mattress?
Code?
I'm guessing a question on food is hidden in there
No. I really mean to ask if an actual mattress is okay to burn.About a month ago, we had a mattress in our garage that we will never use (not that great a mattress and I had a couple that were better). I convinced him that it would be picked up within 24 hours if we just put it on the street - we had previously put out a 48" and 72" sinktop and they were gone before morning.
In fact, we bet on it. I said that they would be gone by morning. We woke up, mattress still there. I claimed that "by morningi" I meant "by noon", knowing he would go to the office.
That next morning, I singlehandedly moved it into our storage shed.
Thursday morning of last week, he left for 48 hours. I dragged the mattress back out to the street and put a "FREE MATTRESS" ad on Craigslist.
Nothing.
About 20 minutes before he got home Friday night, I made the "holy cow, someone dumped a mattress on our curb!" phone call. It's been there since, and we had a huge storm today. Am thinking that at this point, we just let it dry and cut little pieces here and there for burning.
