GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

So is it illegal to record a co-worker's conversations? They moved in a temp guy next to me that spends tons of time dealing with his personal life, and wheels off son. Also tons of time seemingly fighting off his ex-wife and her lawyer after his money and stuff.

The Mrs. and I were talking about John Boehner's crying. She told me that it is very hard for her to read anything aloud without getting all choked up. I gave her the following to read to me; Souffle Recipe, Travel brochure (Italy), Sears Lawn Mower usage guide. She tried real hard but off she went like Niagra Falls. Too funny.

In general? Probably. Is it illegal within a work context if you're his supervisor? Probably not.

Stu Jr was sick yesterday and stayed home from school.

He seemed fine this morning but said he was still sick and wanted to stay home. I told him that's not happening and to get in the car. Halfway to school and he throws up.

He wins that round.

My wife has to hire some news sales reps for her company and was going through a stack of résumés last night. I think the art of good résumé is dead. She had 3 and 4 page résumés with sloppy grammar, superflous job tasks, ridiculous acheivements....She's either fishing in the wrong ponds or we've neglected to teach the craft of good résumé writing to young people.

I did enjoy going through some of them, though. Especially the gal who had "Unmatchable ability to work on computers".

JQW with a bit of a FFA resurgence today

Sign of things to come?

Developing...
I blame you and that infernal novel draft.
Should I bother in there?
The snark in my e-mail re: Forrest's NFL Playoff Contest seemed to  everyone.
That was just cranky Jefferson responding to affable yet sensitive Cosjobs. They have a long history of snarky back and forth.

This actually makes me happy. Being the same age as most of those folks, it's really easy to get a good job when that's your competition.

Right, but then my sarcastic congratulations to TRE seemed to sail over his head.I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this pool, given that it's making me root for the Packers and the Patriots. :goodposting:

P and S there is $480 going to the winner in this thing.

Downloaded iTunes today. Am I the last person in the world to do it?
Negative.I do not have it. My daughter does, but I don't.
Do you have some alternative for organizing music on iTunes, or do you just have nothing? Do you have an iPod?
No iPod either, I'm music-less.Sometimes I'll use Pandora on my phone. :lmao:
Do you own any recorded music? CD's?
A ton of old albums and a bunch of CD's

I got a resume once that had, as a bullet point - "Strong problem solving decision making ability skills."It was followed by "Detail oriented"

very stoked that LSU will be letting Gary Crowton go
Yeah, I thought of you earlier today. Congrats. It appears Alabama is shuffling two people not up to the Alabama job task out for more energetic go-getters in our assistant coaching staff, so I'm happy too. I'd be absolutely giddy if Cignetti (WR coach) could've won the position at Kent state as my "dislikes" on the coaching staff would have all been replaced. In about 17 days (had my dates mixed up... Feb 3rd), I think I'm going to be a really giddy college football fan. We'll see, I guess.

So my 6th grade son won his school's spelling bee. So I took him last night for the preliminary Duval County spelling bee written test with over a hundred other school winners. I had prepared him that only 15% move on and since there would be plenty of 7th and 8th graders, his chances weren't good. Test was a hundred multiple choice questions where you have to pick the misspelled word. He said that for the last 50 questions, he barely recognized any of the words. Based on his initial negative reaction, I was shocked tonight to find out he's one of 21 moving on to the oral spelling bee in two weeks.

I bought my first songs off iTunes about 2-3 months ago with gift cards I've collected for 2 or 3 Crimmuses, but I've had it downloaded since getting my phone.

I made chicken parmesan for dinner tonight. I opened up a bottle of wine. My old lady doesn't like red wine so I'm putting this one back by myself. Not much of a wine drinker, how do I know if I'm drinking crap?

So can someone give me a synopsis of the first 300+ pages of this thread? I haven't really ventured in before. I need to get up to speed.
