GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

The wife volunteers at a Vet clinic close to home and forgot to take a drug with her she needs to take.

She calls me and asks me to get it out and give it to her son who works there.

She says the silly long name of it and tells me it's blue.

I suck at finding stuff.

The only pills I can find are green, so I send those.

I call her later and ask if those were the right drugs.

Wife says yes.

I say, they were green, you said blue, you know I suck at finding stuff.

Wife says - They are turquoise :wall: , I said blue to make it simple for you because it's you.

Sadly this passes as a compliment since I actually found them.

Isn't turquoise a green shade? Obviously I'm not metro enough to know this answer.

Just back from the beach. I wish it was to make a return trip for the move, but instead, it's to come home to continue working on the house, something I've put off until recently. Kitchen cabinets need two coats of paint on the back to fully transform from the black they used to be, to the white which was suggested. Hottub gone now and the new railing is almost finished on that deck. Minor things to do here and there as well to likely have the house on the market by July 1st. Bad news is, the market/comps have dropped the likely price of my house by $20k since December. I might still be here a while if I don't accept somewhat of a lowball offer eventually.I usually go fishing with people who know what they're doing, but with my buddy buying a new boat and knowing less than me, I've become the trip planner, rigger, boat driver/trainer, first mate, and pretty much the guy calling the shots... to a degree, considering it's not my boat. I do have another guy giving me instructions on where to go and giving me advice after my trip reports, but it's a learning experience for sure. First trip was miserable, second trip only slightly better, etc., but we did alright this weekend. Seas were rough as hell, but we made our way out 25 miles anyway and came home with a nice catch on Sunday. Fresh snapper last night for dinner, and blackfin tuna on my plate tonight. It's not considered as good as yellowfin, but I made sashimi tonight and also cooked a steak, neither of which would be distinguishable by 90% of the population, maybe more. I need to brush up on my fish identification because while amberjack is out of season here, we threw back a 30 lb plus almaco jack which wasn't because I crossed that up. Easy mistake to make for just about anyone, but not until I reviewed the picture we took on the boat did I realize it. I asked my "mentor" to receive confirmation on the bad news/decision.Maybe one day it'll be a 5-10 minute drive to do that stuff instead of a 3.5 hour one.
Very cool. I would like to see some pics.
Assuming you're talking about the fish pictures:Here's a shot of the catch... nothing tremendous, but not bad for the conditions and considering we only were able to drop on the one spot 10-15 times before heading in:http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/jplvr/Catch6192011.jpghttp://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/jplvr/Closeuptunamingoscamp.jpgI'll post a pic of my buddy with the tuna and almaco and let him know he's famous and on the innernet now:http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/jplvr/Blackfin6192011.jpghttp://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/jplvr/Amberjack6192011.jpg (I even have this one mislabeled still)This is what the spot we were fishing looks like: 180-190 feet on the bottom and more like 120 feet on top, with the trench in between. Between one end of one of those spots to the end of the other, it's probably about 1.5-2 miles as each one of those trenches is about half a mile long:http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/jplvr/NB0045side1.jpghttp://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/jplvr/NB0045side2.jpg

Gotta home late the last two nights. Made tuna fish for dinner both nights.

Instead of taking the time to cut up pickles and onions, I just dumped in some pico de gallo with the tuna and Miracle Whip. It was damn tasty, plenty of fresh taste, just enough crunch and good and spicy.

I can wear shorts to work. And I'm not a lifeguard.Slap it high?
:slap: I've been wearing shorts the last two weeks since I'm teaching "Sports Buffet*" in summer school. *Apparently 'buffet' is a French word meaning 'dodge ball'.

Are the Mr. Shoop jokes getting old yet? Because that is really all I can picture when teaching sports buffet in summer school.

Furley's right. From now on when some FBG talks about a friend or relative dying in a car accident I'm going to spew vitriol and laugh at them.

So, there were 16 hours of daylight today in Seattle which coincided with a beautifully sunny 75 degree day. I spent 13 of those hours at work, 1 more driving to and fro said work and the remaining 2 either sleeping, getting ready for work or shovelling food in my mouth once I got home.Yay
when do you have time to drink?
Do what now?
I'm in Seattle a few times over the next couple weeks. Happy to show you what I mean, although the last time I drank with a FBG, he fell face first on the sidewalk and got roadrash on his bald head.
Anytime. I will attempt to keep my bald head off the sidewalk.

I can wear shorts but considering it seems to rarely get above 70 here, there's not much point.
Going to be about 103 today. Can't really complain it's been unusually mild so far.
95 here, but apparently everything around us is on fire and there is a ton of smoke throughout Jacksonville. It's just nasty.

Today Vegas finally caught and passed Austin in terms of high temperature. We get a couple of days under 100.

I finally made The Decision and took my talents to Bull Creek Road. I hope Clevelanders don't burn my jersey.

Still vacationing in sunny South Carolina. I think JR's trying to set some kind of world record for the viewings of Cars in one week. That ####### movie is on at least three times a day. I can hear Larry the Cable Guy's inane #### right now from the other room where he's taking a nap.

The Charleston Area. More specifically the Wild Dunes Resort at Isle of Palms. We've been here since Saturday for a conference. It's been great.

I was under the impression that the finger prostate exam was on the way out. Sorry your doc is apparently stuck in the past, GBSLB.
