I love going to the bookstore during lunch. I always feel smarter and calmer after walking around for half an hour or so. Yet I rarely buy a book while I am there.
I keep a saved draft in my PM box also asking for AR to delete my account and all my posts. Probably will be the day my wife finds the "Sex as a Weapon" thread.

I can't believe that the people who organized the conference I went to this week thought it would be a good idea to have three separate presentations, each lasting 1 hour plus, from actuaries. The only good thing is that the bar was set low enough that it made me look like a comedic genius in comparison.
Total presenter count:
Actuaries - 4 (one presentation had two of them)
Health care providers - 2
Southern historians wearing ridiculous bow ties - 2
Vietnam war heroes - 1
Alcohol-abusing pr/advertising guys - 1

Both.A GB has a black toenail from stubbing his toe on a rock while fishing last weekend. There's a good chance I can get pics of us pulling it out with a pair of pliers on Monday. I had to take a travel detour because of some silly hurricane while on vacation in North Carolina a few years ago.We got into some place pretty late one night, decided we were really hungry and went into the first place we saw.
It was called Beef Barn.
It looked like some silly Mom and Pop nothing special place.
They had Cheateau Briand for one in there.
It was amazing.
Even more so most likely because expectations were low going in.

La FLoppolinha seems to be coming 4 weeks early, depending on the results of some tests (amnio needles = long).
Wife at the hospital now, I'm back to check on Jr #1 and more importantly alert the FFA to keep their mitts of my girl, before returning to the hospital for a C tonight or tomorrow AM. Or later. EVen if the baby doesn't come, the wife is stuck at the hospital at least 3 days.

Too many occasions call for it.That is a great feeling.Back when I was looking for my first teaching job the pickings were slim. I had two interviews lined up. One at a continuation school in one of the worst parts of town. The other was at a middle school in a town about 50 miles away up in the mountains. If I had my choice of jobs neither one of those would have cracked the top 20. But I needed a job badly.The interview at the continuation school was the worst job interview ever. I could write pages on how bad it sucked. The capper came at the end when the prinicipal told me that the interview, which lasted like 45 minutes, was actually just a formality...they didn't even know if the position would be available or not.2 days before I was to go up to the school in the mountains I landed a last minute interview at the school I'm at now. Best interview ever and at one of the best schools in the county. The next day they offered me a job and I took it. Fast forward to the next June. The bunglord principal from the continuation school calls me up and asks if I was still looking for a job. Keep in mind this was 9 months later. When I told him I had found a job and where I was teaching he had the gaul to ask me if I was interested in leaving. This would be like leaving a job at Stanford to teach at Chuck Wepner Junior College in Bayonne. I actually laughed at the guy. OK, it was more like a chuckle but I almost asked if the guy was serious.

2. We'll have "coupons" to fill out as a gift to Car. (Picture the little coupon books you used to make your parents: good for one empty dishwasher, free hug, clean living room, etc.) So it could be a grocery shopping trip, a night of babysitting, and whatever else you can think of.
This is going to be fun!"

I don't know if they are more likely, but why take the chance on sexual deviants dressed like sesame street is real. I also had a random guy come up to me on the street and try to sell me gold. He just had a bunch of gold chains balled up in his hand and said "hey man, 14 carat" and opened his hand real quick on the sly. He wasn't a furry, but he offered one some gold as well, although this was only half furry - not the full costume, just ears and a tail.

CQ Jr is apparently a baseball prodigy. 3rd game ever tonight and he turned a triple play (playing first - caught line drive, stepped on first, threw to second).
Also last night I was the latest victim of GMTAN daughter dance recital syndrome. All in all it wasn't bad except it started at the same time as the NBA draft. So I had to pretend that I was using my phone as a light to read the program when I was actually refreshing ESPN draft tracker. WifeyQ caught on after I gasped when the Cavs took Thompson so I had to put it away and pay attention. Thanks Chris Grant (Cavs GM)!!!

Most guys don't want to have daughters b/c of they fear potential suitors as they "know how they were as guys when they were teenagers". This never bothered me....I knew if I had daughters, that at some point guys would be doing whatever they could do get whatever they could. You just hope you raised them right and that they don't get hurt or turn into dirty whores.
The thought of spending 4 hours at a dance recital makes me want to stab sharp needles into my ears.
