GM's thread about nothing (12 Viewers)

Why is there a 14 page thread about a guy who caught a baseball at a game? Same week, some guy died doing the same thing and only got three pages, how is that thread nearly 5 times longer?

Nobody is envious of the guy who died. HTHDef reminiscent of the political slap fights. That point I've made 14 times? Yep, today I'm going to make it all over again, only this time I'll use three new words.

YSR, sorry about your friend.

Complaining about no compliments for boob elbow when you refuse to provide pictures of the boob involved in the boob elbowing is sad.

lol at "Oh, hello Frosty."

My senior year in high school, right before our senior prom, one of my good friends was in a car full of sophomore girls. They were doing some driving on the back roads (I'm assuming those of you from the midwest will know how to translate that), when she missed a turn. He came halfway out of the sunroof as the car turned over. Pretty devestating kick in the nads at that age.

If I could build a GMTAN doll/monster; I would want it to have the following parts:

Frosty's lucky elbow

Kev's hair (no brainer)

SLB's sexy knee braces

GM's nice skin

Sacamano's liver

Pickle's blogging skills

Stu's wee wee

Krista's rack

Mr. Krista's ability to accept a compliment about his wife's rack without getting mad

Shuke's skepticism

Buck's patience to sit thru dance recitals

Thorn's Reese's Shirt

Truck's eye brow(s)

Tanner's mom

Stryker's dog

Feel free to add more. I'm getting tired and I'm gonna go rub one out to Frosty's elbow.
I don't really understand this at all. It's like saying, "I want the crack whore's womb. It's held up to assaults by tons of donors and successfully produced 5 kids by 6 different fathers."

Question for non-Minnesota and non-Wisconsin people only: Do you know what cheese curds are?
Absolutely. In fact, my wife made a joke this morning as we awoke from our campsite, about 17 miles eat of Tillamook, home of the Tillamook Cheese Factory. She asked if I wanted to head there and eat some cheese curds, which I love and she hates. She loves cheese, but hates curds. I think they are delicious. The only thing better is having Shuke fry them up and serve them to you with an apron on.
I'm calling bull#### on the apron.
Apron (with nothing under it) confirmed.

Have a 3pm appointment with my doctor today and I'm required to fast for 24 hours prior. I'm fantasizing about where I'm going to eat downtown after my appointment. Not sure what I want, but whatever it is I choose, I'm having two of dem.

I asked this in Otis' suburbs thread, but has any of you ever drilled out a keyed Master Lock padlock? We lost the key to the one on our gate, we don't own bolt cutters, and I refuse to let this be Mr. YSR's excuse for buying a Dremel (I'm 37% sure the key isn't lost and that's what this is about).

I've gotten a hole about 3/4 the diameter and am working on the last 1/4 with a the largest bit that will fit. It's slow going and hard and I need to know if it will all be for naught.

Who doesn't own bolt cutters? Go to Home Depot/Lowes buy bolt cutters. Go home cut off the lock. Return the bolt cutters.

First, are your bolt cutters large enough and can you get the lock's shackle (the U-shaped part that goes into the body) far enough into the jaws of the bolt cutter?

Another option is to get a good drill bit, one that is very hard, and drill right into the part where you put the key. The drill bit will need to be large enough to cause enough "damage" to release the shackle. You may need to use two bits. One would be smaller and for the first cut, and the second would expand the first hole to finish the job.

Make sure the drill bits are very hard. Carborundum bits are good. If you can't find one at your hardware store, go to an auto parts store and explain your needs.

That was the website that made me think to do this. I started with the small bit and got a decent enough circumference that I now have the big bit in there. I know some random person from the Internet said it was possible, I wanted to see if the GMTAN said it was possible.BTW, bentley and any other Texas fans, I Googled "how to cut master lock" in Lowes earlier today and got the following site. Really helpful fans you've got there, in particular the poster in post #34.

Ah. I've drilled the lock off an old trunk that way, though I only needed one bit. It was pretty sturdy but probably not masterlock sturdy.

Supposedly this works:
I'd just buy bolt cutters if I didn't own any.

Someone once mentioned the GMTAN FB page to me, and I finally remembered to look it up. Closed group; sent request to join.

Nothing. I'm not a FB whore, but you would think Forrest, Krista and StLB would be sufficient cred. After a day goes by, I decide to look up the FB page admin. I have no idea who it is, but send him a message:

"I guess we don't know each other. I'm BobbyLayne on FBGs."

He sends me a friend request.

Look, I'm sure you're a nice guy, and it's always great to make a new friend, but could you just let me in the closed group? Or not. JFC

Close call: I was at a friend's bachelor party out on Lake Champlain. We were out boating, and all of us somehow forgot about the anchor. Dumb. We got going to about 40 mph, and of course the anchor comes flying out of the water, swings around the back of the boat, and hits the bachelor in the back. No real damage done, but it was pretty scary.
Jesus, glad you are alright GB. When we are out "boating" we cut the line to the anchor as soon as the body goes overboard.

I went after that lock for a good two hours with the drill. I got one whole side of the inside cut and was beginning to work on the other side when Mr. YSR saunters out of the garage with a grinder and cuts the hardened steel in ~4 minutes.

He knew that I was working on it with the drill, as he had deemed that my "project" for the afternoon. I feel like I'm a little kid whose mother gave me some ridiculous, time-consuming task/game just to keep me out of her hair. :hot:

Reminds of my first day in my first real NYC apartment (ASIDE - 1st 6 months here I had a free corporate apartment and then a dirt cheap illegal sublet). Very first day going to work from my new home - a floor through brownstone apartment on the garden level, with a private 25x40 outdoor space in back - I lock myself out. First instinct, I call a locksmith. I forget what they wanted, but it was ridonkulous, way over $100. Walked down to the hardware store, spent $20 on a pair of bolt cutters and $20 on a lock, and broke in via my wrought iron window grill. The bolt cutters had like 30" handles, and worked great as my tree branch trimmers for the next 8 years.

Screw all y'all who aren't working today. (Sounds great, TU.) My job blows. On the plus side (in my opinion), tomorrow I'll find out if I need to go to Dubai next week. I'd LOVE to go to Dubai, even if it is for work.
At the Dubai airport, they have a building for arrivals and a building for departures. It is not uncommon to walk out of the arrival building into the departure building at midnight and realize that it is still above 100 degrees outside. Very few of the planes will take off from Dubai to the U.S. until after dark, because of the oppressive heat combined with most flights are booked solid and the plane is loaded with fuel (at least enough fuel for the 13 hour flight). I found it neat that the bus stops for public transportation are air conditioned.Hopefully you'll have time to visit the
