GM's thread about nothing (98 Viewers)

I'm not to be a hard-on here but MoP started a 9/11 tribute page. He thinks it would be "a good idea if folks retold a little about that day..." And then he goes on to tell the story of what he was doing that day.

Really? I mean haven't we all done that before? Are we really paying tribute to the men and women who died that day by talking about how we were driving to work or sitting in a classroom or watching the horror on the TV at the breakroom at work?

Unless you were in NYC/DC or lost someone or in the military or a firefighter your story isn't that special.

Been buzzing my hair with a #2 for a couple years now. Last hair cut I did a 1.5 and didn't think it was all the different than the #2. Going with the #1 next time and am working my way towards possibly shaving my head at some point. Do you do clippers at a #0 first and is the 0 clipper buss cut the Marine Corps/Full Metal Jacket look?
I did no attachment for a number of years before shaving with a razor. Using the razor just buys you a day or two between shaving if need be. I used to think it would take longer, but shaving is much faster now.

I guess it's from goign quick while I'm at work but my posts venture into Studs N' Duds literacy levels when I post from here.

Uh huh....now imagine you hated it as a kid, never got the fake lincense plates or keychains and THEN - right in the middle of your college experience where you are trying your damndest to get laid - they come out with a little movie called "Krista Gump". Thanks, jesus.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That's pretty rough GB. You must have had some pretty thick pasty white skin to get through your childhood.
Really loved it when I could overhear other kids asking their parents if I was an albino.

One the kids next door to us is named Phoenix, spelled right. Good kid. Another one of them is named Orion. Middle one is Ronnie. I always wonder if Ronnie gets up thanking his lucky stars he was named after his dad.

Oakland airport not too scary
Take a little walk around the Collisium if you have the time. Splendid neighborhood.
:lmao:Rude, almost forgot, and this is going to sound weird: The cemetery in Piedmont (basically a breakaway republic within Oakland that's very tony, they also have the high school team that had the A-11 offense that made national sports news a couple years ago) is a really nice place to have a picnic. It's very green, you can drive around in there, and find a hill with a nice view of Oakland and SF behind it.

In a family with the names Phoenix, Ronnie and Orion, I'd want to be Phoenix or Orion...at least until I was grown up. You think Thor and Loki had a brother named Frank that was grateful for his name?

Brought my youngest son Cooper into work with me today. He's been asleep on our couch most of the day as he was up at 4am with massive pain in his right ear. Poor kid is prone to ear infections at the tail end of a nasty cold/flu, which he had last week/weekend. We are staying at my parents house this week as they are on vacation and I'm watching their dogs. I searched all over their house for some pain reliever to give him, but couldn't find anything that wasn't "Extra Strength" this or "Maximum Stregth" that - each bottle coming with a massive warning NOT to give to children; especially children with a fever (which he didn't have according to the reliable 'hand to forehead' technique, but I wasn't taking any chances). As his tears flowed and my attempt to find a suitable pain reliever turned desperate I stumbled upon a bottle of oxycodone for my mom in the far back corners of a kitchen cabinet. I thought about it for a second and decided I had little choice. It was 4am, he was in massive pain and I didn't like my other options. So I took a knife, cut one pill into quarters and made him take one with a glass of water. And it worked. He went back to bed. And we went to the doctor's today and got all the antiboitics/meds we need to battle his raging red ear infection. But the poor boy has been incredibly listless and very tired today, spending the last few hours sleeping on the couch.
So you were concerned with extra strength tylenol, buy ok with 1/4 oxycodone?
The oxy didn't have giant warning lables on them saying NOT TO GIVE TO KIDS. I don't want the kid getting Rye's Sydrome.

There was a period where I didn't even come here. But the truth is I like this forum and I have some great friends here. And again, if any of you might be hit by Hurricane Irene, please be safe. Six days to college football season ladies and gents.
Now all of those interview tags are starting to make sense.

I have a lot of catching up to do here. Sorry to hear about your BIL Tanner.

In hopes of catching up on the facebook too... who is the Iowa State guy?

I don't know what 'gout' is, but it sounds disgusting and I'm glad I don't have it.

Also, this AH gal that you guys are drooling over...is she missing a toof?

:lmao: I'm not a big Halloween guy and have 'dressed up' maybe twice in the last 15 years, but my wife has convinced me to dress up as my mother this year for Halloween and I'm actually thinking about it.

I bet this is why GM is so funny. I'm not knocking his name (I kind of like it), but with a name like that you either develop a killer sense of humor, learn kung-fu, or become a serial killer.
Maybe GM did all three. Think about it, I mean, how much do we really know about the guy? I could see "funny Kung-Fu serial killer" being on his resume.

Disgusting? Ouch. It's like arthritis. It's genetic and painful.
See, now 'arthritis' - THAT'S a good medical name. So is 'tuberculosis'. Really sounds like the medical community put a lot of thought in a name. Gout? Sounds like a nickname given out in a fraternity for a fat guy or slang for the vulva. Does not sound like a painful medical condition at all....I almost want to chuckle when I hear it.No offense intended and I hope you get better.

Lol, no worries. I take drugs for it, so I'm fine. (thanks thailand!)

We have two boys, Doug and Jim. Trying to help, gb.
Thank you, sir.
I've got a Ben and an Abby.
I'm afraid I'm bringing the class average down with my two...and I'm not even going to admit what we were going with this spring had we made it full term and provided number 3 had a penis. :bag:
Don't worry about it. At least you spelled their names right...at least I know one of them is.
Cooper (rhymes with 'pooper') is coming on strong as a popular name, but I'm curious how people would go about an alternate spelling. Cuper? With an oomlout?
I just couldn't remember the name of your other kid. Trust me...out there somewhere is a kid named Kooper or Qooper or Coopair.
Ah yes....Kooper with a 'K'. Gotta be some Klassy parents pulling that one off.Kid #1 = Kellen, which is historically a more popular name in the African American community, but has caught on with the honkies thanks to Mr. Winslow and his magical performance in the 1980 AFC Playoff game against Miami. :bag:

I agree and I think I'm on record as saying that I'd be gay for him if I was gay and he was better looking and had darker skin.
hang on here, Melvin...I'm at LEAST a 6. A little weight loss, some skin bronzer and a fresh haircut and I'm damn near a 6.5. This old boy cut a lotta assss in his day. :boxing:

Can't say too much

possible game-changer

The oldest Manning brother is Cooper (pronounced Cup-per)seriously
Hang on here...Redmond Longhorn is personal friends with this cat....I'm going to ask him about the validity of this. I don't buy it.

I still have my heart set on

Hmmmm...I'm going to have to get creative finding a picture of her as she is absolutely against having her picture taken due to weight (which is what she's said for the last 20 years, so not many pictures and several thousands of dollars wasted on every diet known to man) and tells us to take down any picture of her on facebook. I'm going to have to get very creative to pull this off. My wife has said if I do it, she'll dress up like my dad.

By the way, it's my wife and I's 11th anniversary today. We're celebrating by watching a rerun of the Office and drinking beer.
We just celebrated our 11th last week painting our living room. No sex too. My wife is scared of my poison ivy. It seems to keep spreading. I gotta get rid of this soon because when my wife delivers 9/9 it will be at least six weeks before I get any.
ANOTHER kid??? This makes 7, right?Congrats and stuff
