GM's thread about nothing (36 Viewers)

Early night home from work tonight and this note was waiting wedged in my front door.
:lmao: No friggin way.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Masturbation is one of those things I do only when I'm >> 100% certain there is no way to be watched, caught, seen, heard, sensed, felt or smelled by another human being and most cats. I have to kick my wife's cat to the curb most days. Please tell me there is no way STLB isn't safeguarding his masturbratory habits like Life-Lock...I'd have to move if a neighbor of mine watched me yank and I mean move to another state.

da bears...

had several bears wander through the yard of the mountain house (a 5000+ sq foot building is not a cabin) our league stayed at thur-monday. one guy out jogging had to stop and retreat when a black bear started walking down the road towards him - the bear was between him and the house...

slept outside on the back porch with the .40 with in hands reach. had a bunch of stuff (chairs, screens, noise making crap) on the end of the porch a bear could actually climb over with the intent of having enough time to retreat into the house. a couple of numb-nuts actually put trash bags on the front porch. 3 of us explained why that was not a good idea....

coming back on ga-138, i had to come to a complete stop while a mother black bear and her 2 cubs crossed the road - they had decided to stop in the middle and figure out what a car was... mama eventually ran across the road and jumped through a 4-board/rail fence (2 and 3). cub #1 did the same (1 & 2). cub #2 tried but bounced off the bottom board on the 1st attempt. after a brief period of running around, cub #2 successfully managed fence crossing 101...

mama couldn´t have been more than 150-200 pounds - dripping wet... skinny bears round here....

we played friday golf at a course named bent tree. it was a pretty nice course - a very well maintained mountain course that was surprisingly flat though a little tight. saw about 40 deer between the driving range and the 18th hole. the deer had no fear - they´d walk up to 10 feet of you (it is a preserve area so no hunting). saw a 4 point buck eating grass in the front yard of a house. there was also a boat-load of wild turkey....

and yes, it was a very good weekend...

Lost my FF game tonight by 1.10 points. All I needed was McFadden to get a couple of garbage yards at the end of the game. Tom Brady bringing back from the brink went to waste.

oh yeah, my 5 cent review of "Warrior"

wtf, when did I get hormones? movie was utterly preposterous, pretty entertaining, fight scenes were ridiculous, but most of them were short and didn't really detract from the movie, I could have stepped in for Tom Hardy who must have a hunchback or something and likes to mumble a lot...but there were some scenes where I couldn't help but get a little choked up on. wtf is wrong with me.

anyway, score it a 3.2/5.0

Bob>lemme see if I got this right. I went 12-4, hit the tiebreaker on the nose, and I lost by two games (TWO!) to a guy on autopick. What kind of grabasstic monkey-faced pool are you running anyhow?

I have passes to an advance screening of both Moneyball and 50/50 - both are tonight so I have to choose one. Anyone know anything about either of these?

Seems like a good place to post this:

Using the Draft Dominator's default projections:

Week 1 - Yudkin (94.1) and LHUCKS (94.7) out; 3nOut (95.3) with the 10th best score

Week 2 - Lammey (100.5) out; Kruppe and Lash, each at 101.0, with the 9th best score

Week 3 - 3nOut (97.2) and Sinrman (98.3) out; Kruppe (99.6) with the 7th best score

Week 4 - Kruppe (98.9) out; Lash (104.4) with the 6th best score

Week 5 - mporwit (92.1) and Lash (93.1) out; Yo Mama (98.0) with the 4th best score

This would project Yo Mama (541.2), Plastik (542.7), Sergeant Spelt (545.9), and JWB (565) to advance.
If I go out the first week I will ban myself from the pool for a month...my team is stacked.
Shark poolers rejoice!Sinrman (157.80 pts)

Plastik (155.50 pts)

Sergeant Spelt (154.25 pts)

Why do FBG mods suck at this so bad? Clayton finished dead-last in our league, and Dodds was pretty bad too.Good job, Spelt!

Good job, Spelt!
Clayton wasn't in your league.
It was Colin.
They're all the same to me, really.
you outscored Dodds by less than 1 point this week.
Sans Foster. When do I get an ownership stake?ETA: And having been gypped out of Sproles' MF'ing TD.

looking on Spotify to find something to listen to. It seems that Puddle of Mudd did a cd of covers. It's hard to believe, but they have made songs like Gimme Shelter, Old Man, and TNT completely unlistenable.

Go into the Best Albums of 2011 thread, there are a lot of recs. in there.

BRILLIANT! I may have to finish listening to their version of "Everybody Wants You" first. I didn't think this song could get any more queer, and yet they've done it.

Moneyball.
Or you could just start yourself on fire.
Stop it.
Stop being right?
My link
11:37:25 [TUpside] truck's slavish devotion to Billy Beane is funny11:38:03 [Jethro] Moneyball movie seems about 7 years too late

11:38:16 [TRE] bar = win

11:38:33 [TRE] should we ask truck how many championships moneyball beane has won?

11:38:44 [TRE] have no idea why this is a movie

11:39:12 [Jethro] agree with TRE. seems like an awful idea

11:39:13 [x] no more superheroes left i suppose

11:39:29 [TUpside] or how many playoffs he's been to without high first round pick pitchers Mulder or Zito

11:39:33 [x] could have a period piece about 1880s england

11:39:59 [x] maybe an edgy thriller featuring midget cruise

11:40:10 [x] rinse, repeat

11:40:14 [TUpside] or how they would have done without juiceheads Tejada and Giambi

11:40:21 [TUpside] SteroidBall

11:40:26 [x] live action animation usually works well

11:40:36 [x] they were all jewced

11:40:42 [TUpside] only "moneyball" draftee who panne dout was Swisher, and it's not like he's a superstar

11:40:51 [x] tejada, giambis, mcgwire, canseco

11:41:09 [x] they did love youk

11:41:18 [x] greek god of walks?

11:41:42 [TUpside] right, but the As didn't draft him, did they?

11:41:46 [Jethro] Youk!

11:41:46 [TUpside] thought the Sox did

11:41:49 [x] had a conversation with a lion fan here.....people crazy about the lions this year

11:41:52 [Jethro] yeah

11:42:14 [Jethro] Youk a big part of Moneyball, but the A's never had him

11:42:18 [x] well, if you draft top 3 every year for 2 decades you are bound to get good at some point

11:42:34 [Jethro] Mike as Youk in the movie?

11:43:19 [x] see rays, tampa

11:43:56 [Jethro] how about Royals, KC?

11:44:14 [x] they are good?

11:44:33 [x] signing francoeur seems to negate that

11:44:40 [x] what an awful deal

11:44:57 [x] guys like hosmer and moustachkis around

11:45:13 [TUpside] great locker room presence

11:45:24 [x] gamer

11:45:26 [TRE] 11:40:14 [TUpside] or how they would have done without juiceheads Tejada and Giambi<--lol

11:45:43 [x] he was great in the lockerrom for the mets too

11:46:06 [x] arnold schwarzenegger as mcgwire

11:46:16 [TRE] A'S SWEPT THE TWINS IN '06! LET'S MAKE A MOVIE!

11:46:19 [Jethro] Moneyball still a good book, but only because you appreciate a team trying to win on a limited budget

11:46:27 [x] marc anthony as a pre steroid canseco?

11:46:30 [TRE] we'll end it right before they get swept in teh next round

11:46:32 [Jethro] but in the end, the strategy doesn't really work

11:46:39 [Jethro] gotta have $$$$$$$

11:46:50 [x] look at us, we lose to the yanks every year!

11:47:30 [TRE] marlins deserve a movie more than a's

11:47:32 [Jethro] Scott Hatteberg!

11:47:32 [x] i like the concept of moneyball, but ultimately, there arent enough players with high obp around

11:47:47 [TRE] build up team, dump everyone, start over strategy

11:47:47 [x] no one goes to marlin games, who would go to marlins movie?

11:47:54 [Jethro] 11:47:30 [TRE] marlins deserve a movie more than a's --

11:47:57 [TRE] people go to a's games?

11:48:13 [x] well no

11:48:15 [TRE] watch ryan sweeney and coco fly around the OF?

11:48:15 [Jethro] win, trade everything, suffer, win, etc

11:48:22 [TRE] jet> exactly

11:48:25 [x] twins deserve a movie

11:48:31 [TRE] piss on fan base

11:48:31 [Jethro] hire crotchety old dude

11:48:34 [x] the contraction contradiction

11:49:00 [TRE] twins movie: win ####ty division, get destroyed by yankees, rinse, repeat
