I personally would say anytime you have meat and/or vegetables that has bread on two or more sides. Can't be a closed or sealed construct.

As much of an update as I can give - and I will in no way be offended by any TL;DRs, so I'll shorten:

As a matter of background: I moved to FL in February 2010 to be with my then-boyfriend/now-husband. It has been a pretty miserable year-and-a-half for many reasons, with the one bright spot being our engagement and marriage. In mid-December of last year I had a bit of a meltdown, basically telling him how unhappy I was in Jacksonville, and his response was, "Where do you want to go? We will go wherever you want to go". I said SC. Done. That was our plan for the months that followed, including a 200+ person engagement party in April where I was putting out job feelers for us both.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a guy stop by our house in Jacksonville and he decided to rent it. We had had it on the market for 60 days with no real bites, so this was a nice change. This new renter happens to work in an industry in which Mr. YSR has had some interest for some time, so they got to talking and it just so happened that our renter "knew a guy" in Knoxville who could hire the Mr. immediately.

Mr. YSR has several rental houses in Knoxville and one just so happened to be vacant when all of this went down. So, because neither of us has a job at this very moment, I was open to the idea, but still wanted him to follow up on some job leads in SC. When I pressed him on his follow-up efforts, we got into a "discussion" and in the heat of the argument, it came out that he isn't all that crazy about moving to SC.

I knew, and I really appreciated, the fact that SC probably wasn't his #1 choice of places to go but that he was going for my benefit. What upset me last week was the fact that I didn't know that he didn't really want to move there - I feel like I would have dealt with that a lot better months ago and wouldn't have put the time and energy into job searches for us. Not to mention the emotional energy that I've put in with my excitement about moving back to where I feel most grounded.

Fast forward a little to the end of this past week. Turns out that Mr. YSR's little sister has gotten back into drugs - this time she's using needles - so she's out of a job and has a condo mortgage to deal with. Her parents have been paying the mortgage for a few months but they really can't any longer. So, we are moving into her condo in Knoxville, taking on her mortgage, and going from there. She and her 15-month-old (dad is in prison) have moved back in with my in-laws (the hoarders) and some kind of detox program is being looked into.

I will say here and now that the biggest issue that we have in our marriage is his parents, specifically his mother. My tolerance of her and her passive aggressiveness has recently plummeted, but he is completely deaf to any reason regarding her. At some point we will likely need to involve a 3rd party in conversations regarding her.

So, Mr. YSR has had a couple of interviews in SC, and we had a really productive talk on Thursday about how Knoxville could ultimately be the demise of our relationship. We are likely going to be there for a couple of months and all I can think is that I can do anything for two months. So, we'll be there for now, since we have a place to stay, but I'm still looking for work in SC and will continue to do so for him.

Right now, I'm at my parents' house in SC. Drove the trailer up today. Mr. YSR will be here in about 2 hours, and then we will continue on to Knoxville tomorrow.

Yikes. Good luck with Romo and the in-laws. Hypothetically speaking, if (God forbid) things end up not working out for the YSR's, and YSR marries me, would the Gadzooks/YSR wedding reception be the greatest GMTAN Cornhole EVER???

turned off my lights. it's like Halloween and I've run out of candy.

I've done this before. Fittingly on Halloween. Some chick insisted that I go to a Halloween party with her. I figured she might show up even though I told her not to. Sure enough, she pulls up and rings the doorbell about a dozen times while I'm holed up upstairs cowering in the dark. Does she leave immediately? Oh no. She waits me out like a fugitive. This goes on for maybe an hour and a half, and I'm trying to do normal stuff like put clothes in the dryer. You never know the price of freedom until an unbalanced stalker is camped outside trying to listen for the faintest heartbeat.

What costume was she wearing?

After a typical Saturday night, I spent all day sober since I was supposed to be with my daughter, but it didn't happen until this evening. I am now trying to balance a fine line of getting drunk as quickly as possible, but not so drunk that I am tempted to go to the local bar that has decided that it's a good idea to have drink specials that begin at 9 pm on a Sunday.I should be able to keep up in drunkchat in a few minutes.

cool. I have always been fond of the upper left corner of my country. I shall return asap. Meeting up with Pigskin P was effin' great. I had not heard from him for half a decade or more.What a great guy. Drifter was an impeccable drinking buddy and city host. You really need to meet him and check out west seattle. Britney was as charming and simpatico as I had imagined. Plus he has a very hot wife. And -fish-Rover. What can I say. If not for his open generosity and willingness to leave his house key scotch-taped to the front door for a complete stranger, while he chased prime, young cooz, I probably would have never booked the flight from Austin. It was just a ####### outstanding trip and I didn't even mention Oregon. I gush on that part of the trip later.

My credit score went up about 200 points after I started using billpay. I am not a deadbeat, I just have a really hard tiem finding stamps and envelopes and ####.

I have wells fargo as my primary checking. Because of the divorce, I have multiple accounts. When I used to have a fair amount of money, everything was free. Now that my accounts fluctuate more, I'm racking up a ton of fees. Charles Schwab reimburses for ATM charges from any bank, has online billpay, no fees, and you can deposit checks by taking a picture of them on your phone.

Just saw the invite list for a buddy's bachelor party. Headed to Windsor the weekend of the 21st and staying at Caesar's. It's a group of about a dozen of the heaviest drinking, dirtiest bastards I know. Should be...interesting

If you've done a bachelor party in Vegas before, be prepared to be bored out of your skull.

Haven't done either, but this group of friends tends to take things to the extreme. I imagine that most of the time will be spent drinking and looking at moderately attractive females removing their clothing for money. I'm a pretty good drinker when it comes to beer, but my buddy that is getting married can drink liquor faster than I can drink beer. If I were to create a competitive drinking league, several of these guys would be first round draft picks.

I'm not sure about this. Drinking and strip clubs in Vegas? You sure you're thinking of the right place? Your super crazy friends may have a hard time finding something like that in Vegas.

YSR, I'm sorry again to hear about your situation. You're a saint for agreeing to go near the hoarders for any length of time. :(

I have not made my anti-Memphis list, but this might make it... I regularly go through the semi-hood to get from downtown (where I live) to midtown (where a lot of good restaurants are). Last night someone sitting at a stoplight on this route, about 2 miles from my house, was shot in the head in an attempted carjacking. I had been sitting at that light about 1/2 hour before the shooting.

I'm down to fewer than 46 million seconds until I hope to leave!

On another front, about a week ago I started drinking less and eating healthier in an attempt to lose weight. So far I've gained two pounds.

That's the kind of stuff I think about when I think of Memphis. The place is supposed to be REAL bad. Get the effe out of there, girl. If not the palace in the tropics then I'm sure a capable lady like you can land a gig in a town of her choosing. It might not pay as much, but it sure would make you safer and happier for a few years before you make the move (is this move years away? I'm confused on that).

I have lived in NYC for 25 years and even during the deep, dark wild-west days of the late 80s, only feared for having my Nikes stolen, not getting shot in head over them.

Meh.... I've been in Memphis for about 20 of my last 25 years and have never been a victim of a crime. Hell, of all my friends I hardly even know anyone who's been a victim of a violent crime. IMO the bad #### is heavily concentrated in certain areas that most white folks just don't go (if they know any better). Not saying the city is safe.... it's rep is well earned. However it's easily avoidable if you have a decent head on your shoulders.

I've worked in one of the worst parts (the neighborhood was listed as one of the worst in the entire country) of Memphis for the last 15 years and we've only had one armed robbery which happened about 13 years ago.

Is that about alien abductions?If so I can't watch it. When I was a kid I read that Whitley Striber hoax: Communion, in which Striber claims to have been abducted/contacted by aliens in his rural Upstate New York home. Me being young, impressionable, and living in a rural home in Upstate New York promptly crapped brain fluid and couldn't sleep right for months. Years later I'd still wake up now and then feeling overly tired, and had to convince myself it wasn't because I'd been abducted, anally raped by a metallic nozzle, and had my memory erased.

It effed me up so bad that I still can't watch abduction movies today. I know the Striber book was all a hoax to drive books sales, but abduction movies still give me insane nightmares.

If I ever bump into Striber at a book convention I swear I'm going to anally probe him with the wide end of my boot.
