GM's thread about nothing (25 Viewers)

I've been getting more hangovers lately, and they're more intense than they should be.

Take last night. Went out, had 3 scotches and 4 glasses of water, came home, drank 2 more big glasses of water and went to bed.

This morning, I had a moderate headache, felt nauseated, and weak. What's the deal? That's ridiculous - what should I be doing?

what kind of scotch?

When I lived in Atlanta, I remember that there were lots of sports bars that were one team's bar in particular. A UNC bar, a Clemson bar, a UT bar, etc. Anyone have any ideas on how to find a particular team's sports bar? I'm looking to watch Clemson/UNC here in Knoxville and think it would be fun to watch it with other Clemson fans. The Googles and Clemson alumni site have produced no fruit.
Ha! You've stumbled across my plan to make millions that I never found time to work on.http://backer-tracker.com/

Do you work out regularly and stay in shape? It'll help as you get older. If I'm in decent shape (I haven't been fit in 15 years :bag), meaning regular work outs (3-4 times a week) the hangovers are not NEARLY as bad as when I'm in my drinking/lazy season. But Tiger is right, the older you get, the worse they will become. Going back-to-back with heavy drinking nights will ruin me...especially if I smoke cigs. If I smoke one cig in a night of heavy drinking, it will tend to make the hangover much worse.

try a lowland or islay instead. the peat in the highland scotch may not be agreeing with you.

I started working out a few weeks ago again. So no, I'm not in shape.

Cardio or weights? I tend to do much better if I am running regularly.**I ran 3 miles today for the first time in 3 weeks. I have a horrible habit of taking football season 'off', so I'm going to try and get back in better shape before I totally fall apart. I'll sign up for another half marathon to push myself along.

Working my way up to real running. I can only get up to about a mile and a half right now.I'm doing weights too.ETA: You've done half-marathons? I think that would kill me.

or start with the highland, but switch after one. you're supposed to be drinking down the mountain. too much peat will give you a gnarly hangover.

I ran one this summer, but as Pickles will point out, I didn't exactly burn up the track. I would like to do 3-4 a year and get under 2 hours. A small goal, but still a goal and something that forces me to get out and run regularly.

Another thing that people don't realize, that (in my case at least) when I'm doing some serious drinking; I'm usually standing for long periods of time (tailgating + game, weddings, barhopping, etc)...and that just wears me out the next day. So combination of drinking tons plus my body being exhausted doesn't bode well

God Nevermind is an incredible album.
since I saw pj play chloe dancer/crown of thorns in vancouver I've been wearing out mother love bone--satyricon
Was testing out my computer hdmi hookup to my plasma so I can watch Eddie's set at Bridge School tonight. Decided to play Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns on youtube to test it out...walked out of the room for a minute and back in and one of my boys (7 mos) was just staring at the tv in awe :headbang: he also does this when I wave my keys

Grilled some pork tenderloin just now. Perfect...

Gas Grill Method: Preheat gas grill for 7 minutes, with lid closed and burners on high. Sear the pork for 7 minutes, just enough time to form a nice crust and grill marks. Using tongs, flip the pork and sear on the second side for 6 minutes.

Now the pork is fully seared and with just a few minutes of low heat cooking, the pork will continue cooking to the right temperature. Without opening lid, turn all burners off and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes. The ideal internal temperature for pork is 145 degrees F in the thickest part of the meat. This means the pork will be slightly pink, tender and juicy.

my dog is the stupidest ####ing dog i've ever been around

THERE'S NO REASON TO BE AFRAID. IT'S THE SAME ####ING FLOOR YOU HAVE WALKED ON EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS.
