Dealing with the more important topic first, one of the items on my anti-Memphis list is dealing with the stupid liquor laws here, which prevent alcohol from being sold in stores on Sundays and requires that anything but beer be sold at an entirely separate store that can sell only wine, spirits and large-sized beers, and NOTHING, not even mixers or cups or whatever, can be sold in those same stores. And don't try to get around it by going to Arkansas or Mississippi which have equally jacked-up laws.

Chicago sold in pharmacies, 7-11s and any damn other kind of store, too. And on freaking Sundays.

I somehow forgot about this part of your post until I tried to go buy wine this afternoon.

The local now has a website that mirrors the odds and props etc available at the web-based book. One can place bets through this website, though no money is ever dealt with online. All collections and payoffs are done the old-fashioned way - in person. I actually haven't tried Bowmore. I'll pick a bottle up today. Talking about the 3D3 again got me interested, but since it's not being made, it's hard to find. Found This link. Shipping is a bit much, so could use some advice on what else to get that I haven't tried to make shipping more even.

Cool. Bowmore is more smokey, oakey, and berry, and certainly more subtle than the peaty scotch you're used to. Everyone's got a different palate, but it's worth a try.

Last time I can remember doing shrooms was in 1989. My aunt, who was from that generation, had a 20th anniversery Woodstock party. She hired a DJ, who played the album (& related records) and it rained. That night was a :trainwreck: - my brother's GF got a DUI because she decided while tripping that she wanted to try crack cocaine and went to find some. My first wife and I got into a terrible argument because my best friend's wife was hitting on me (we had a "history"). My uncle was chopping up ice for the cooler with a tobacco knife and broke it - with the blade spinning off and hitting my aunt in the leg. Another friend though it would be a good idea to get into his Jeep, get a running start, and power-brake into the driveway. He flipped over. I ended up DJing because my aunt's friend decided it was a good time to go back to heroin and nodded off. My uncle wanted to kick my butt because I - tripping/drunk - didn't want to stop playing Jimi's "Star Spangled Banner" over and over while extolling Reagan's virtues into the mike.

My ex wife just asked if I can spend the day with my daughter. I love my daughter more than anything, but it turns out only very, very slightly more than eggs benedict, bloody marys and a brunette with 36Ds that likes watching football and getting day-drunk. FML.

I understand that my situation is completely different, but I found myself a bit sad after this comment (mad at first, over it now). 8 months away from a "daddy's girl". No offense, it is after midnight and I still have a drink. Walk a mile in someone else's shoes and all of that. Thanks for letting me vent.

It's actually their credit card. They have poor credit in general, so when they were offered a credit card at Home Depot, they jumped at the chance to get it. I'm pretty sure that the interest rate is somewhere around 27% or something ridiculous like that.They claim that they are only using it for upkeep of Mr. YSR's 6 rental houses, so the responsibility for paying it falls on us. His mother mails or faxes me the bill every month. For a while it was fine, a couple hundred dollars per month, which was mostly evened out by the few hundred dollars/month he makes from his tenants. For some reason, the balance has been growing exponentially lately and because money is really tight for us right now, we haven't been able to pay it in full every month. The idea of paying interest on a credit card drives me nuts to begin with, so this has been a real source of stress for me. So, yeah, when I learned that over $2k in materials has been crammed into my inlaws' garage for however long, I wanted to lose it.

To top it off, when I was discussing it with Tony Romo, he - trying to be encouraging - said, "Well, them using that card so freely is going to stop now that we're here". I, being a highly sensitive female, read that to mean that this Knoxville situation isn't as temporary as I keep hoping. :(

Part of being divorced is having a schedule. I wouldnt make plans when im scheduled to be with her. I chose to spend the time w my daughter so my ex could do something with her friends, but this one was tough to walk away from.

Kind of a cool thing: You all know my bro-in-law died last month. My sister, obviously, has been dealing with that and all the things that go along with settling an estate.

A couple of weeks ago she finds out that one of he life-long best friends, Sandy, (who now lives in NorCal) was going to go to New Orleans for her 50th birthday. My sister finds out from Sandy's sister that she can hook her up with an ultracheap flight somehow. So my sister thinks about it for a couple of days and decides to go.

On Friday she met Sandy and her sister at the gate at LAX. Sandy had no idea my sister was going. The last few days my sister has been posting all kinds of cool pics from N.O.

Just sent one from Champions Square outside the doom. They're drinking daiquaris and watching the game on the big screen.
