GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

shuke - I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. Maybe have a talk with him see how he's doing if anything is bothering him. Be supportive, don't make a big deal out of it. If it continues it may be something. My eldest had similar issues from time to time and it passed.
I talked to him, and he seems to be doing fine. Everyting good at school, not getting in trouble there or anything. We just got done with soccer season, where he was probably the least aggressive and least productive player on the team, but that stuff doesn't seem to phase him.
Start making him wear slacks. Confidence should skyrocket.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: My mom made we wear slacks in first grade. Sucked so bad.

Shuke - My 7 year old has the occasional accident as well. I would not worry about it unless it becomes a routine, then go and see his doctor. My son had bowel issues that caused him to not feel the signals from his bladder, but some medicine and treatment took care of it.

Diet update: I am a bit stagnant, still down 15-16 pounds. Didn't have the best week eating with all the stuff at home going on. Adding more exercise to my routine. Now out of the house, have control of all three meals and I just don't have the junk food that was in the house. Blue Diamond Honey Roasted Almonds were as good as advertised here on the FFA.

Baseball update: Down 4-0 going into our last at-bat, we rallied for 4 runs to salvage the tie. Due to a schedule mixup, my two best players were 45 mins late, so I put them in the field where one almost turns a double play and they both get hits in the bottom half of the inning to start the rally.
GOD BLESS YOU! I'm starving today and forgot to make my lunch. I completely forgot that I had some Blue Diamond Almonds (Habanero BBQ) hidden in my desk drawer. Thanks to you, I'm sweating profusely at the moment, but satiating my intense hunger.

So we had a meeting this morning telling everyone that our firm isn't shutting down. This isn't really the thing a firm that isn't shutting down does.

I've never had a flu shot. I feel pretty good about it.
:goodposting: scam, imo.
Why would a healthy adult get a flu shot?
because my wife makes me
:goodposting:My wife, not his, always wanted me to get one each year but I held out until we had kids. I figure it's worth it, if only because if I actually got the flu and then my kid got it and died I wouldn't have to hear "I told you so."

I too have fended off a mugging attempt. (actually he wanted my car I believe) Slap it high?
Somebody tried to carjack you? Why not try to rob Mr. T or rape Brock Landers?
Not sure. But it didn't end well for him.
Other than being an imovable object, what sort of fight skills to you posses? I know Charv is not only a massive animal, but he's also a black belt in something good.

***Coaching Update***

The Timber Army followed up last weeks 11-0 victory with a riveting 1 to nil shutout over the Vipers. It wasn't pretty, but it was a win and now we are 2-3-1 on the season. Also, I broke out my Vuvuzela for the game and blew it hard and long after our first goal and final whistle. If we win next week, I'm being told I must coach the final game of the season in a dress. I'm a little afraid of this as I've never worn a dress and don't really like the idea of showing any non-facial skin to the public.

Also, not liking the idea of shopping for a fat lady dress. :bag:

to prevent them from getting a flu?
Seems like some people get the shots and then get the flu. I'll pass.
When I got my shot last week the nurse explained that I could get fever b/c my body is reacting to vaccine. But I wouldn't actually get the flu.

Well, I don't necessarily think it's a scam, and I wouldn't mock somebody else for getting one, but I doubt I'll be doing it myself anytime soon. My flu-like symptoms generally occur when my liver decides to punch back. Otherwise, most of my issues seem to be of the sinus variety. I don't take anything to keep myself from getting pregnant either. Yet.

"Healthy, working adults who received influenza vaccine reported 25 percent fewer episodes of upper respiratory illness than those who received the placebo (105 vs. 140 episodes per 100 subjects, P < 0.001), 43 percent fewer days of sick leave from work due to upper respiratory illness (70 vs. 122 days per 100 subjects, P = 0.001), and 44 percent fewer visits to physicians' offices for upper respiratory illnesses (31 vs. 55 visits per 100 subjects, P = 0.004). The study, reported in the NEJM, estimated cost savings at $46.85 per person vaccinated, and concluded that "Vaccination against influenza has substantial health-related and economic benefits for healthy, working adults.""

flu shot is a total scam, but to each their own

you're given one strain of the influenza virus, the one that they are hoping hits. There are tons of different strains of the virus, and new one's hitting all the time.

I'm just not very sickly. I've had a fever maybe 2 or 3 times in 15 years. If I'm feeling under the weather, I will down some Nyquil, crawl into bed and wake up feeling 100%.

Actually I think they give you a cocktail of several of the ones they think most likely to occur. And even if they do not give you the exact one for a particular strain, it may still prevent it because they are similar. All these things mutate so far its hard to predict exactly what's going to be Mr Hams next thread topic.

I'm not getting a shot. And I won't get the flu. :statement:
Make sure you wear long-johns under your dress, coachy.
I'm convinced that if I drink enough booze, nothing will live in my body for long.
I know that's accurate for your internal organs.
Don't I have two of everything except a brain?
Liver down?yet?

I think you are correct.I also think it's silly to say something is a scam just because it's not 100%.

Watching GM trying to be reasonable in college football threads is worth a read.

CFB threads here have to be in the top 5 of most frustrating things on planet Earth.
