It's really not. "Media" is a plural noun that just doesn't happen to end in an 's,' so it sounds a little weird. If I told you "the owners has all the responsibility for NBA strike" was correct because they are a singular entity, what would you say?Once again "the media", while consisting of many people, can be looked at as singular in this context. I'm not a huge fan of Cool Ranch Doritos or Doritos in general, but two weeks ago, an enormous box of Cool Ranch Doritos appeared in our office with like 50 little bags in there. I've probably had 25 of them since then.
